Chapter 26: 26. The scar on his heart

"What are we gonna watch?" Jimin asked. It was almost twilight when they decided to stop playing and start watching a movie. "The Notebook?" Namjoon asked. "Nahhh! Let's watch 'Call Me By Your Name' " Taehyung said.

He and Namjoon had watched the movie already, so it wouldn't be a problem for him. He would be able to visualize the scenes along with the dialogues he heard.

Seokjin seemed to realize that, because he immediately pulled out the CD and placed it into the player. They got up to freshen up before settling to watch the movie.

Yoongi and Jimin settled on the floor in front of the TV while Seokjin and Namjoon took one of the couches, leaving Taehyung and Jungkook to take the other. "Guess it's us, then" Jungkook said, taking Taehyung with him to the other couch.

Taehyung sighed as he sat there and closed his eyes. He tried his best to visualize everything that he heard.

They were half way into the movie when he suddenly froze. Jungkook laid his head on his shoulder as he watched the movie.

It seemed as if Jungkook was forcing himself to do this, as Taehyung could feel the stiffness in that touch.

He could tell that the younger was basically trying to break his shell open. He felt happy for being the one that could help. He debated within himself for some time before bringing his arm up slowly and wrapping it around him.

.............................

Jungkook couldn't concentrate on the movie.

All he could think of was the handsome guy sitting beside him, who, for reasons he could never understand, made him feel completely comfortable.

He kept thinking about the warmth and support he had provided him back at the park. He also couldn't get the morning's events out of his mind.

'It was me who started it, right? I guess it won't hurt to continue' he thought and placed his head on Taehyung's shoulder. Even though he convinced himself that it would be alright, he couldn't help but feel nervous about it.

Was it too early? Should he just keep to himself?

These thoughts revolved around his head when he suddenly felt a long but warm hand wrap around his shoulder.

It made him feel safe. He felt like he could trust this guy. He felt like he could finally move on.

Move on from those thick ropes of his previous love binding him to those horrific memories.

He quietly snuggled further into his arms and soon, Taehyung relaxed himself.

He would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy this new feeling.

He knew all too well what this new feeling meant. Being in a relationship for about three years and loving that person unconditionally taught him a few things about these kind of feelings.

Liking a person doesn't need much time, does it?

He wanted to push them away. He wanted to stay loyal to Hoseok.

But a tiny part of him reminded him that Hoseok wasn't going to come back. That part made him feel like it was okay to move on. That it was okay to let go.

He willed himself to try. He wanted to start again. A fresh start.

A new start where he wouldn't forget what happened before.

He would still love Hoseok with all his heart. But he was willing to let go and keep going on with his life.

He was willing to give Taehyung a try. 'It won't hurt' he assured himself.

...........................................

There might be a happy scene going on in the movie for all he knew. Seokjin was too immersed in his own thoughts, watching the two young ones find ways to be comfortable around each other.

He noticed the stiffness in the two of them in the beginning. But he also noticed how they relaxed soon.

He could practically see the gears turning in Jungkook's head. He just hoped the younger was willing to break out of the shell he created around himself.

He nuzzled into Namjoon as he thought of this. Even though they met two days back, it really felt like a family for him. Maybe they were meant to be brought together. Maybe they were meant to be together.

After the movie, they decided to go back to their own homes as they had work the next day. Yoongi decided to stay there and go straight to work the next day. Jimin went back home after promising Taehyung to stay in touch.

Yoongi walked with him till the ground floor. Once they reached the gate, he placed his lips on Jimin's lips, perfectly syncing them. He grazed his tongue across Jimin's mouth, demanding for permission to get in and soon, he was exploring every inch of Jimin's mouth.

After a very long kiss, they broke apart and Jimin placed a sloppy kiss on Yoongi's forehead. "We couldn't spend much time together these two weeks, hyung. But even though I miss spending time with you, I am glad I met them.

I love you, Yoongi. Please don't strain yourself and don't feel pressured about spending time with me. Help them, okay? If you want, I will come too. I am only one call away~~. Anyways, I am not going anywhere, so don't worry about me. Take care. Good night, love" he said, placing his arms around Yoongi's neck and looking straight into his eyes.

Yoongi could swear he could feel his heart melting. He wrapped his arms around Jimin's waist and brought his closer.  "You know that I love you more than anything else, right? I really don't understand what I did to have you beside me. Love you, darling! And yeah, I will call you if necessary. I will make it up to you after all of this gets settled, baby. I promise. Love you" he said, letting go of Jimin.

"Good night, babe" Yoongi called out. "Good night!" Jimin called back and walked towards his home.

He went back to see that Namjoon and Taehyung already got back home. He peeked into Seokjin's flat to say 'Good Night' before going to Namjoon's house.

"What about tomorrow, Yoongs? Tae is gonna stay alone the whole day at this new place! What do I do?" Namjoon asked, walking into Yoongi's room. "Let's think about it tomorrow, Joon. Let's just sleep now" Yoongi said, sprawling on the single bed present in the room.

"Okay, Good Night" Namjoon said, switching the lights off and going into his own bedroom. Taehyung was already on bed, staring unseeingly at the ceiling.

Namjoon got in, placed his hand around him, bringing him into a lovely cuddle. He pecked Taehyung's forehead. He whispering a "Good night Tae" and receiving a "Good night, hyung".

..............................

Jin walked into Jungkook's room to have a small talk with him. He saw Jungkook sitting on the bed, cross-legged, thinking deeply about something.

"What's going on in that smol head of yours?" he asked, sitting on the bed in front of Jungkook. Jungkook just stared at his cousin for a while before spacing out again.

"I am willing to move on, hyung. I want to give it a chance.......I want to give all of this a chance.........Taehyung a chance......." he said, still spacing out.

Seokjin placed a hand on his leg and rubbed it up and down as he collected his thoughts. "I am very happy and proud that you think so, Kookie. It's really time you moved on. But what do you mean, give Tae a chance? Do you like him?" he asked. "No" Jungkook said, frowning.

"Kookie, you have to be really honest with your own feelings if you are planning to move on. It's okay to like someone, baby. No one is going to think any bad of you. Not even Hoseok. He will feel happy that you are finally living the life that you deserve to live. It's really okay, Kook" Seokjin said, looking straight into his eyes.

This 'looking straight into the eyes' technique always worked with Jungkook, no matter what the circumstance was.

"It is too early to say I like him, hyung. But he definitely makes me feel warm and safe. I know what this feeling is, but I feel like it is too early" Jungkook said, sighing heavily.

"I won't say much about this, Kookie. Just that you have to be honest with yourself. Take your time. Nobody is rushing you. But I just want you to know that I started dating Namjoon. This is more proof that it is never too early or too late. Just think about it, okay? Good night" he said, knowing very well that he wasn't going to receive a reply.

Jungkook was too lost in his thoughts, trying to process the new bomb that Jin soo casually dropped on his face.

'There is this really ugly scar on his heart, each time deepened by three very important people in his life. I hope you make him forget it by making a beautiful tattoo over it, Taehyung' Seokjin thought as he walked into his room and got into his bed.

**************************

So yeah, this was the thought in my mind when I named the book. That JK's tragedy was a scar on his heart and the tattoo on his heart was the one that Tae was gonna make.
