September 1st........
"Jin hyung......Hobi......I want Hobi......" Jungkook started crying in the middle of the night when he jolted awake.
Seokjin had slept with Jungkook that night as he wanted the younger to rest properly before the funeral.
"Shhhh, Kookie. He will be back.....now don't cry......go back to sleep...." he whispered. He felt awful for taking advantage of Jungkook's state and lying to him.
The morning came sooner than they could wish for and Jungkook wasn't ready for it. Hell, he wasn't even ready to get out of his bed.
He woke up and sat on his bed, cross-legged and dazed. They could see the exact second something broke inside him. He started bawling his eyes out the second he remembered that all three of them were dead.
"Kookie, your inhaler! Why the hell is it in the laundry?" Seokjin asked, walking to his drawer to look for the spare inhaler. He felt relieved, knowing the other one was there.
"Jungkookie, we will deal with this later. For now, you gotta get ready.......for the f-funeral.......get up now" he said, lightly pulling him out of the bed.
"Yeah, come on, Jungkook. Get ready" Jimin said. Jungkook got up and went into the washroom while Seokjin, Jimin and Yoongi waited for him in his bedroom.
"Hyung, when he sees the three coffins.......I am scared of how he's gonna react again........he obviously isn't in a steady state right now........" Jimin said. "We'll be there for him. That's all we can do for now" Yoongi said.
Jungkook came out after sometime and simply stared at Seokjin. "Let's go" Seokjin said, putting his arm into the other's arm and taking him out.
Jungkook was crying as he walked out of his house, to the church that was right behind their lane. They had decided to hold Jungkook's mother's funeral in the open. Now they had two more bodies along with it.
Jungkook was still sobbing as they turned the corner. The moment he saw the church, he started squirming in Seokjin's hold.
"It's okay, it's okay, shh, we have to go" Seokjin said, tightening his hold on him.
Seokjin's father spoke at the funeral as he knew Jungkook was not capable of doing it. That left Seokjin, Yoongi and Jimin to take care of the younger.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, I won't go, I won't go, I won't go, LEAVE ME, I WON'T GOOO, LET ME GO HOME!! I don't want to be here!! Please, hyung!! Let me go home.....I-I want Hobi....I want to go home" he started yelling and crying like a kid would, looking at Seokjin with huge, doe eyes that were overflowing with ugly, fat tears.
Seokjin's heart broke as he looked at his cousin. "No, Kookie, you have to be there. They will feel bad otherwise. You have to stay here, Kookie" he said and dragged him into the church.
Jungkook kept yelling the whole way, earning pitiful glances from all the people who had come for the funeral. Some even started crying, looking at Jungkook's pain.
"Hyungiiieeee....please......noooooo" Jungkook tried resisting the pull and soon, his knees gave out.
Jimin held his other side and dragged him to his seat. Seokjin immediately sat on the other side of him and put an arm around him. Jungkook buried his head into Seokjin's shoulder, muffling his cries.
The talk was finally done and the family members had to go out to the graveyard to bury the bodies.
That was when Jungkook saw the three coffins. His eyes went wide and he started screaming. Jimin and Seokjin tightened their hold and continued taking him into the graveyard.
He was close to passing out again with the amount of exertion he was facing. Seokjin and Jimin had to hold him the whole time to keep him from collapsing.
"Jungkookie, you know I live alone in my flat, right? Come and live with me. Let's live together" Seokjin suggested timidly after the funeral was done and people went back to their homes.
Yoongi left Jimin in his house and left for Daegu to help his friend.
"No" Jungkook replied, going into the bedroom and sitting on his bed. "I won't force you now, take your time and think about it" Seokjin said, but Jungkook didn't bother to respond. He stayed with him for a week before going back to his flat.
Jungkook didn't bother going back to the parlour. He didn't bother eating, he didn't bother organizing his home. Seokjin came every night to check up on him and force some food into him, which was pretty much what he ate.
Almost a month passed like that before Seokjin had enough.
He barged into Jungkook's house and started packing his clothes. He threw a bag at him.
"Help me. You are not staying here anymore. There is no way I am letting you live alone when you are behaving like this. Come on, get up and pack your stuff. GET UP!!" he yelled.
Jungkook flinched and got up, starting to pack all his things.
Six months later, they moved into a new flat that they bought with their own money.
Jungkook closed himself off from the world. He kept denying the whole incident to himself. He stopped interacting with people so that he wouldn't get close to anyone.
He developed a fear of rains. He started fearing that he would lose someone whenever it rained. He also freaked out the one time someone mentioned his birthday, seeing as he had to attend the funeral of three most important people in his life on his birthday.
Seokjin observed that the first time it happened, and tried his best to prevent the talk of 'birthdays' around him. He took care of him the whole of two years until these people came along.
Seokjin knew that Jungkook was scared of losing him. Every time it rained, Jungkook felt terrified and yearned to hug Seokjin to sleep.
It took some time for Seokjin to realize that it was Jungkook's way of assuring himself that nothing would happen to Seokjin. He hoped nothing bad would happen in their lives anymore. They had had enough to last a few lifetimes.
..............................................
Taehyung woke up suddenly.
He had been sleeping with his head on his boyfriend's chest, while Jungkook had his hand wrapped around him.
Taehyung could feel the Jungkook's short breath, which is why he woke up in the first place. "Kookie?.......Baby......wake up........Jungkookie......" Taehyung tried waking the latter up.
He trailed his hand up to his face before slightly slapping his face to wake him up. The darkness wasn't helping, so he got out of the bed and quickly found his way to the switches and switched the light on.
Now he could at least see a big mass of blur. He went back to the bed and bent down so he could focus on the blur. He tried sitting Jungkook up, hoping that he would wake up with that movement.
Jungkook suddenly jolted awake and started gasping for air. "Hobi...Dad..." he kept muttering in between his gasps.
Taehyung realized what was happening, but he didn't know where Jungkook put his inhaler. He tried asking him, but Jungkook was in no state to talk.
Jungkook gestured to the table, but Taehyung didn't realize that he was pointing at something. "I'll be right back. Hang on, Kook" he said before rushing out of the room, using the wall for support. He went to Seokjin's flat and started banging on the door.
............................................
Namjoon woke up to the bangs on the door. He looked at Seokjin, who was sleeping through the noisy bangs.
'He must be tired'Â Â he thought and walked into the living room. He opened the door to find his brother standing outside with a frantic expression.
"Tae?" he reached out to his brother and tried to bring him in. "Hyung!! Jungkookie!! His inhaler......CALL JIN HYUNG!!" Taehyung yelled, too worried about his boyfriend to think about the fact that he was yelling in the corridor.
"Yeah" Namjoon said and ran into the bedroom, shaking his boyfriend violently. "Whaattt!!" Seokjin whined.
"Jinnie!!Jungkook!! Asthma!! Tae is outsi-" Seokjin didn't wait for him to complete his sentence. He shot out of the bed and ran into the younger's room, taking out his spare inhaler.
He ran to Jungkook, whose lips were almost blue due to lack of oxygen. Seokjin placed the inhaler in his mouth and puffed it.
It took a few minutes for Jungkook to calm down and loosen the tight grip he had on his shirt. He fell asleep in Seokjin's arms. Seokjin almost finished tucking him in the bed when he heard a gasp from Taehyung.
Taehyung had walked into the room with his brother. Namjoon had left him near the table before going to help Jungkook.
Taehyung placed his hands on the table and suddenly felt a foreign object. He felt around it for a while and realized that it was Jungkook's inhaler. He gasped, knowing it was here all this time.
"I am soo useless!! It was here all this while.....I-I couldn't help him" he cried. Namjoon ran to him and hugged him. "Shh, it's fine. He's okay now!! So, don't worry!! He is fine!! Shh" he said, bringing his brother to the bed and tucking him in as well.
He kissed his forehead. "Sleep well, Tae. Good night" he said before turning to Seokjin.
"Shall we sleep in Tae's room tonight?" he asked. "Yeah, I was gonna ask the same thing. I'll close my flat and come. Wait for me"Â Seokjin said and walked out to lock his flat.
"Good night, Joon" Seokjin said, yawning widely. "Good night, babe" Namjoon said, drifting back to sleep.
