Chapter Jensen was wearing sportswear with his hair slicked back.
He was smoking with two shadyâlooking men.
Instinctively, Mikayla hid in the restroom.
âLouisa and her friends are here for a photoshoot. I have no choice.â Jensen blew a smoke ring. âBe patient. You may leave after you help me with something. Weâll go to a bar later!â
âWhat do you want us to do?â one of them asked.
âPush Louisa into the lake.â
âHey, Jensen! What are you trying to do? Murderis a crime!â
âWhy would I want to commit murder?â Jensen kicked the man, He continued, âI just want you to push her into the lake so I can rescue her immediately!â
âOh, I get it! Youâre going to act as a hero saving a damsel in distress. When sheâs rescued, you can give her CPR, then take her to a hotel, change her clothes, and keep her warmâ¦â
Jensen didnât deny the outrageous things coming out of the manâs mouth.
He stamped out the cigarette butt.
âIâve been pursuing her for several days now, but sheâs been ignoring me. So Iâll have to put in more effort. Remember, you must lure her to somewhere secluded. Donât push her immediately. You have to make seem like an accident so that sheâll believe me,â Jensen instructed.
âNo problem, we got everything covered!â
After that discussion, they all left.
Only then did Mikayla come out of the bathroom.
Just as she suspected, Louisa was clearly interested in him.
So heâs resorting to dirty tricks.
To avoid being discovered by Jensen, Mikayla hid in the restroom again.
She took out her phone tried to call Matilda, but then she saw a message from Jerome.
âDo you have anything to say?â
Mikayla was confused.
What did she have to say to him?
had no time for him now immediately called Matilda.
Chapter âMikayla, why your phone not working? What happened last night? Is Jerome really going to leave Is the divorce true?
As soon as the call was connected, Matilda bombarded her with questions.
In the morning, she really didnât want to listen to Matildaâs questioning so she refused to answer her calls.
Mikayla cleared throat.
âAunt Matilda, mind your own business! I donât care whether Jerome divorces me or not. Even if he does, It would be better than how Louisa is doing. Sheâs been skipping all her classes. All she cares about is having fun. Sheâs even falled most of her subjects!â
Sure enough, Mikaylaâs words annoyed Matilda.
âHow dare you speak to me like this? If it werenât for Louisa being so young, do you think youâd be the one marrying into the Miller family?â
âLouisa? Marrying into the Miller family? She couldnât even graduate. Do you think the Miller family would accept her?â Mikayla mocked.
âYou!â Matilda was infuriated. âYou ungrateful bitch! Weâve raised you for so many years, and it was all for nothing!â
After saying that, Matilda angrily hung up the phone.
Mikayla also put away her phone.
Knowing Matildaâs personality, sheâd immediately call Louisa and force her to attend class.
If she refused, Matilda would definitely show up where she is or cut off her living expenses.
Louisa knew what her mother was like.
She wouldnât defy her.
As long as Mikayla could get Louisa out of here, Jensenâs plan would not succeed.
Louisa wouldnât be moved by the soâcalled hero saving the damsel in distressâ act.
âMiss, are you inside?â
