Chapter â
Miller gave you a hard time last night?â Michael asked.
felt embarrassed when she remembered how Jerome lifted her up last night.
âNo, everythingâs fine âThatâs good,â Michael replied then fell silent.
Mikayla thought he was getting nervous about the preliminary audition, so she encouraged him with a few words of support.
However, Michael said seriously, âMiss, though I might not be able to help you right now, Iâll support whatever decision you made.â
Knowing that Michael was concerned about her, it warmed her heart.
âDonât worry, I can handle it. Just focus on your audition.â
After hanging up the phone, Mikayla arrived at the dojo.
She practiced some sparring and selfâdefense techniques that Michael taught her.
Now, Mikayla had gained some strength in her punches and was no longer as delicate as before.
Even her coach praised her progress.
Lately, she has been eating and sleeping well.
She could feel her physical condition improving noticeably.
Though her weight hadnât changed much, she didnât mind it as long as she felt good.
After finishing her training, Mikayla took a shower and changed her clothes.
As she was prepared to leave, she saw Jensen walking toward her.
He wasnât wearing any sportswear, as if he came specifically for her.
âAre you here to train?â Mikayla intentionally asked.
âNot today. Letâs go for coffee.â
Mikayla smiled.
âThereâs no for coffee say it here Jensen pointed to the lounge area.
âHow about we sit over there and talk?
nodded. âSure.â
In the end, Jensen ordered them two cups of coffee.
âMs. Davidson, the day before yesterday, you mentioned to Lousa that you saw similar earrings on a second hand website,â Jensen ambiguously said. âLouisa might have misunderstood me, and she hasnât been in touch with me these past few days.â
Mikayla looked at Jensen.
âDo you think she reacted that way because of what said?â
âI donât blame you for it. But I am curious. Based on your financial status, you shouldnât be shopping at secondâhand stores, let alone remembering that there were similar earrings there,â Jensen said.
âThere are times where Iâm reluctant to throw away certain jewelry or bags I dislike, so I would sell them secondâhand,â Mikayla explained. âThereâs nothing strange about me disposing of unwanted belongings, right?â
Jensen didnât pursue this further.
Instead, he asked, âMs. Davidson, are you against me and Louisa being together?â
Mikayla raised her eyebrows.
Was she that obvious that Jensen noticed?
âYou mentioned the secondâhand earrings in front of her to make her suspicious think that my feelings for her arenât genuine, right? But, Ms. Davidson, Iâm not a bad person,â
Jensen said.
Mikayla was a bit confused.
âI roughly know whatâs going on with your marriage. Louisa has mentioned it, and Iâve seen. your videos before. Louisa said that youâve liked competing with her since childhood. So, forgive me for asking, Ms. Davidson, are you trying to make Louisa upset by using me?â
Mikayla understood what Jensen meant.
In summary, he thought that was having a bad relationship with her husband.
She was lonely.
And since she liked competing with , she her eyes on him, flirt with him.
He really was ridiculous.
Mikayla didnât get angry.
Instead, she smiled.
âWhat do you think?â
