Chapter After about 800 sheeps, drowsiness finally overcame Mikayla and she eventually fell asleep.
It wasnât until later at night that she felt a warmth engulfed her.
The air conditioner was cool so the warmth felt nice to her.
She scooted closer to the source of the warmth instinctively, only to find it suddenly stiffening.
She didnât think much of it.
All of a sudden, Mikayla felt something warm pressing against her nape, as if something. was gently sucking her.
She tried moving, but she was trapped.
Struggling wildly, she finally broke free and jolted awake..
She was in the middle of bed, and Jerome was reclining next to her.
His fluttered open, as if he was startled by her noise.
His voice was hoarse he asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
Stunned, she finally realized what felt off.
She shot a suspicious glance at Jerome and asked, âWhy am I under your sheets?â
She vividly remembered tucking herself under her sheets before sleeping.
Jerome rumbled, âMaybe you snuck in here because you were cold.â
He closed his eyes.
Mikayla stared at him.
His eyebrows were drawn in a tight knot, looking visibly frustrated.
Did she really snuck under his sheets Well, the temperature felt colder than usual.
Deep in sleep, she was unconscious.
wasnât entirely bizarre if nestled next to him because he warm, given how cold the room was.
Snapping back to her senses, she adjusted the air conditionerâs temperature and shimmled back into her sheets.
She added another blanket to make sure that she wouldnât get any closer to Jerome and at the edge of the bed.
A few minutes barely passed when Jerome suddenly flung his sheets open.
He got out of bed swiftly.
âWhat are you doing?â Mikayla was bewildered.
Perhaps irritated by her waking him up, Jerome didnât respond.
Instead, he strode out of the bedroom with a somber expression.
Baffled by his horrible temper, Mikayla didnât bother with him.
She nestled closer to her sheets and slept soundly.
The next day, Jerome was gone when Mikayla woke up.
She didnât know whether he woke up early, or he never came back.
Nonetheless, she couldnât be bothered.
Sheâd be overjoyed if he disappeared for the rest of the day.
She got out of bed and went into the bathroom.
Just as she was about to step into the shower, she found a red mark on her nape which looked similar to the one yesterday.
Striding out of the bathroom, Mikayla looked for Amy to change her linens.
She happened to bump into her right outside the room, holding a towel and a pair of male pajamas.
âMorning, Amy. Where did you get these?â
âMadam, Mr. Miller showered yesterday in the room next door. Iâm putting his clothes in the laundry.â
Didnât Jerome shower in the master bedroom yesterday?
Mikayla did notice traces of him using the bathroom.
Well, maybe he showered again in the morning.
Knowing how fussy he was, she wasnât surprised.
âOh yeah, Amy. Could you help me change the linens, and get someone to disinfect the room?â Mikayla asked. âSomething has been biting me on my neck for the past two days.
âThe room is cleaned every day, though. It should be free of any bugs.â Amy still agreed to her request even though she was perplexed.
Mikayla put on some makeup after she had breakfast.
Just as she was about to head out, she received a call from Jerome.
