Just as Mikayla took her phone out, Celeste called her.

“Let me go first!” Celeste exclaimed. “Some colleagues from our department are planning a company trip, and we can bring family members along. Noah’s not available, so you’ll have to accompany me!”

Mikayla didn’t have to wait long before Celeste arrived.

Celeste was driving, and there were two other of her colleagues in the car. The passenger seat was left vacant for Mikayla.

After greeting Celeste and her colleagues, Mikayla asked, “Where are we going?”

After about two hours, they arrived at their destination.

It was a villa nestled in the mountains, and it was also next to a lake. It had a beautiful environment on a large piece of land.

The gate was grand, and the signboard on top was very eye–catching–Riverside Resort.
