Chapter Visibly intrigued. Taylor asked excitedly. âSo, youâre really going to divorce Jerome? I thought you were just saying.â
Well, he definitely seemed enthusiastic to join the gossip.
Mikayla rolled her eyes and ignored him.
The Thay restaurant they were headed to was quite far. It took them nearly an hour to arrive at their destination.
Mikayla grumbled, âWhy do we have to come so far for Thay cuisine?
might as well fly to Thayan Instead,â
âYouâre making a lot of sense,â Taylor mused. âDo you have your passport with you? Letâs book a flight to Thayan now.â
Mikayla was rendered speechless.
The Thay restaurant might be far, but its ambiance was idyllic. She was greeted with a rich sense of exotic charm the moment she stepped into the restaurant. They climbed up the stairs, and Taylor picked a seat near the veranda.
The veranda was adorned with a vast diversity of plants. It was enclosed by fences into separate spaces, giving a sense of tranquility amidst the bustle of flowers.
Taylor excused himself for a phone call after they both ordered their food. Mikayla went on WhatsApp. To her dismay, Jerome had yet to reply to her. She tried calling him, but she couldnât get through.
She tossed her phone to the table. Her gaze wandered aimlessly downstairs, and she was surprised when she spotted a familiar silhouette. It was Jensen..
He was driving an extremely lavish, gold luxury car. The smugness on his face was tangible as he handed his keys over to the valet. His companions huddled around him as they strode into the restaurant.
Jensen seemed very pleased with himself. Mikayla stifled a laugh, knowing that his delight wouldnât last any longer.
He just closed a mobile deal recently, and it was the talk of the town. Its popularity soared even higher. when Taylor boosted its publicity intentionally.
Yet, this project was problematic/It wouldnât take long for them to go bankrupt. Kylieâs funds would go down the drain by then, and they would even get involved in a lawsuit.
Taylor happened to catch the smirk dancing on her lips as he returned. The light illuminated her porcelain features perfectly, highlighting the cunning glint in her eyes. She resembled a fox.
âMs. Davidson, Iâd advise you to refrain from smiling like that in front of a man. A man without any self- control will surely fall head over heels for you,â he teased.
Mikayla glared at him. âIf you behaved, people wouldnât think youâre a useless scion.â
Chapte: 281 2/2 Unfazed, Taylor chortled. âWhy should I let them know? Itâs more than enough that you know how capable I am.â
Mikayla was at a loss for words.
Taylor sat down across from her. âItâs been a while since weâve known each other. Since we have some time to spare today, care to tell me why you fancied Jerome in the first place?â
âIâd gladly share my personal matters with you if youâre that interested. But can you tell me whatâs the feud between you and Jerome in return.
Mikayla inquired, âBoth of you are acting like youâre each otherâs archânemesis. Not only are you competing aggressively with him in the business industry, but you were also ruthless in the car collision last time.â
Taylor glanced over at her. The mischievous glint in his eyes vanished and was replaced by disdain.
âIn your dreams. Donât try to pry stuff that Jerome doesnât tell you from me.â
âIs it because of a woman?â Mikayla began guessing. âYour old crush had feelings for Jerome, so you resent him?â
Taylorâs expression turned sour. âStop. Thatâs disgusting. Are we even that close? Donât you have respect for other peopleâs privacy?â
Mikayla was dumbfounded. He was one to talk when he clearly started this.
She was struggling for words when her phone rang. It was Jerome.
