Chapter Mikayla arrived at Mochuriaâs airport around ten hours later.
Mike should have received the news from Wanda. When she walked out with her suitcase, he was there waiting for her âWelcome here, Mrs. Miller.â
He said politely, âMr. Miller isnât feeling well and resting in the hotel. I was worried there was change in your schedule, so I didnât inform him you would be coming over.â
What schedule changes? He was just worried that sheâd change her mind and not come.
Mikayla asked, âHow is Jerome? Has he seen a doctor?â
âHe has a little fever and cough. Heâs taken some medicine, but he hasnât seen a doctor.â
Mike said, âThe main reason is that the weather here is cold, and Mr. Miller wore less clothes. When he got a cold, he didnât rest and continued to work. Plus, he didnât have a good meal, which is why it became so serious.â
She couldnât help but complain in her heart. Jerome was indeed a perfect model worker. He kept working even though he knew he wasnât feeling good.
âMr. Miller didnât listen to me and refused to see a doctor. I was worried that his body wouldnât be able to hold on. I had no choice but to call Mrs. Miller Senior,â Mike explained.
Mikayla smiled but said nothing. He knew that she and Jerome were divorcing. It would be inappropriate for him to ask for her help directly, so he approached Wanda.
Wanda, who felt sorry for her grandson, would naturally come to her. He was indeed Jeromeâs rightâhand man, capable of considering all aspects.
When the driver came to a halt in front of stem, Mike helped Mikayla load her small suitcase in the trunk.
while he sat in the passenger seat.
On the way, he took several work calls. It was most likely due to Jeromeâs illness, which forced him to take on some tasks.
At this moment, Mikayla finally understood his actions. He had to work while taking care of his troublesome boss. Taking on two roles at once proved tough for him.
Dozens of minutes later, they arrived at the hotel where Jerome was staying. Mike helped her carry her suitcase, and they boarded the elevator together.
Opening Jeromeâs door, he motioned for Mikayla to go in first. âDo go in, Mrs. Miller.â
She went inside. It was a business suite. Outside were couches and desks for guests, while inside was the bedroom.
âMr. Miller may have taken medicine and fallen asleep,â Mike said.
Chopter295 2/2 Due to the time difference, Mikayla set off during the day. It was still daytime when she got here.
Since Jerome was resting, she didnât walk in Immediately.
âMrs. Miller, you hungry after such a long flight? Would you like me to order some food for you?â Mike asked.
Mikayla shook her head. âGo ahead with your own business. I can take care of myself.â
He did have a lot of work to do, so he left the room without changing her mind.
She then washed herself. When she returned to the living room, Jerome happened to come out of the bedroom.
He was in a crumpled shirt. She wondered if he hadnât changed it last night or if he had simply slept in it. He frowned slightly and had dry lips. His attractive features appeared a little haggard.
He lost the usual alienation of being aloof powerful and became more like an ordinary man.
When Jerome spotted Mikayla, his eyes brightened up.
âWhy are you here?
He spoke with a hoarse voice and coughed.
She answered him truthfully, âGrandma was worried that no one would take care of you when you were ill, so she asked me to come over and see you. Iâve also come to you to sign the divorce agreement.â
His expression turned cold. âMikayla, the latter must be your main goal to come here!â
She stared at him indifferently with her gorgeous eyes. â
can think so.
Jerome choked on his breath and coughed violently while leaning against the doorframe for support.
