Chapter 40 Realization
Edith was stunned, and then she patted her forehead.
âOh, right. Kaylah, that goodâforânothing, has already gone away. I should call the nanny to clean it
up.â
After Hendry noticed what Edith called Kaylah, his eyebrows twitched.
âMom, do you usually boss Kaylah around like that?â
Edith noticed her sonâs gaze and felt a little guilty for a moment.
However, when she remembered that Kaylah had already divorced her son, she became firm again.
âWhat are you talking about? Anyway, she has nothing to do at home all
day. Whatâs wrong with me asking her to help clean up the house?â
Seeing that Hendry kept a straight face and did not speak, Edith was a little afraid.
Then she whispered, âI used to do housework too. Itâs normal for a daughterâinâlaw to take care of
her inâlaws.â
Hendryâs face instantly turned cold.
He glanced at the kitchen. No one was there. He didnât see any hearty breakfast on the dining table.
There were only a few pieces of hard bread that were casually thrown to the side.
âMy wife is not here to be your servant.â
Edith raised her head in displeasure and wanted to complain about something, but
she met Hendryâs exceptionally cold gaze.
Hendry did not say anything more to Edith. He left the house with a cold face.
He was upset.
He had already realized that when Kaylah was at his home, she had probably not been treated well.
Kaylah had a husband who did not care about her, inâlaws who treated her as a servant, a sisterâinâ
law who often found fault with her, and a mistress who kept sending messages to provoke her.
It was hard to imagine that this was actually Kaylahâs daily life in the Lowery family.
If it was anyone else, they would probably not be able to endure it even for one day, but Kaylah had en
dured for three whole years with her love for Hendry.
However, what did Hendry do to Kaylah?
He didnât trust her and even hated her because he heard bad things about her from others. He forced h
er to give her kidney to Alondra. It was not enough to make her work for the Lowery family. He even tra
mpled on her dignity.
No wonder Kaylah couldnât stand it and so readily asked for a divorce. She didnât even want any compe
nsation. She couldnât wait to escape from him.
Hendry revealed a mocking smile. He never thought that he would make a woman so helpless.
As he drove all the way to the company, he felt distressed and there was no way to dispel it.
When he returned to the company, before he entered the office, Rayan hurried out to greet him.
âHendry, I found out something about what happened yesterday.â
When Rayan met Hendryâs gloomy face, he was instantly shocked and immediately changed the way h
e addressed him.
âMr. Lowery.â
Hendry said as he walked to his office, âWhat is it?â
âThe person yesterday was indeed Zion. As for Kaylah⦠she is not related to Zion by blood.â
For some reason, when he heard that Kaylah was not the daughter of the Delgado family that they thoug

âHow did you find out? Why are you so sure?â
âI checked around. Zionâs biological sister is called Kay Delgado. She went abroad three years ago and
hasnât returned yet.â
Rayan sat down in the office and shared all the information she had found with Hendry.
âKayson Consortium is named for Kay by Zion. Zion really dotes on his sister. I heard that when Kay wa

âAre you telling the truth?â Hendryâs heart skipped a beat.
