❱ To say these people were beautiful would be an understatement. They were gorgeous and they had an aura of authority. It was imitating yet mesmerizing and I couldn't tear my eyes away. Everything about them was just so captive, like the beautiful eyes that stared in mine. The boys eyes never left mine, neither did mine.

"Thea, Alec is your new fiancé" that's when I snapped out of the eyes that were locked with mine and onto to what was happening. I looked at Bruce with a confused look on my face.

"What do you mean, my new fiancé?" I asked, still a little confused. Bruce smiled widely at me before looking over at Alec.

"I mean that You and Alec are now engaged, you two should get to know each other, have a dinner date. Do you have anything plans, Alec?" Bruce asked Alec. He looked over at Bruce before shaking his head. Bruce didn't mind to ask me before making plans for me.

"I actually do have somewhere to go" I soon spoke. Everyone's eyes snapped at me, giving me a questioning look all except Bruce. His dark eyes were shooting daggers my way. "I'm sure you can cancel, right Thea?" Bruce asked. His voice sounded soft but his eyes were doing the opposite. Three pairs were now staring at me, cornering me.

"There's no need to cancel, I'm sure we can reschedule for another day?" The tall dark boy, Alec, asked as he locked eyes with Carolina, Bruce and finally with me. His voice was deep and it sent chills down my spine.

"I'm sure you two can meet sometime next week. That'll be alright with us" Carolina said as she nodded at Bruce. She looked at him as to wait for an approval. Bruce squeezed my arm before bringing back his fake smile and nodding.

"Thea is going to make it to me somehow right?" Alec asked me as he smiled smoothly. I smiled back and nodded. "Right. Well I actually need to go to that somewhere now. It was nice meeting you Carolina, and Alec" I say as I smile at them before turning around and leaving. I look at kace, who was standing behind me with a blank face, and nod at him.

"Kace, let's go" I say and I don't get into my car but onto the suv. I quickly get on the passenger seat and wait for Kace. He soon got in and gave me one of his looks.

"Where are we planning to go, Ms Nightingale?" He asked teasingly with knowing eyes. He knew I didn't have anything planned but he also knew I didn't have any meaning to get to know Alec Armstrong and never planned to. I didn't want to get to know him nor I ever wanted to have a dinner date with him to get to know him better.

"We, are going to leave out of here because I don't want to be here any longer" I say and wave him off. I don't see what he does because I turn away and look out the window. I've noticed that the Armstrong's were still there and they seemed to enjoy Bruce's company by the way they were laughing, especially Carolina Armstrong. She had made a move and put a hand on Bruce shoulder, rubbing it softly. Bruce didn't seem to notice and keep on talking, they soon started to fade away when we left.

"Do you have any special place you would like to go? Like a friends house or boyfriends...?" He asked and I could practically hear his curiosity dripping down. I rolled my eyes and look over at him, with a smirk.

"You could have asked me if I had a boyfriend earlier you know, so you wouldn't look so desperate to know now" kace looks over at me for a second before looking forward again.

"I could have, but then again why would I? I was only asking because I'm trying to take you somewhere. Ms Nightingale" he asked seriously with a look over at me. I shake my head at him but don't argue with him, my smirk disappearing.

"I want you to take me to the hospital again" I say and look back out the window. I hear a low sigh then we head towards the hospital. Kace parks closes to the entrance, and we both head outside and towards the tall building. Kace stays by the entrance while I go to the VIP floor. Once I get out the elevator I make my way towards Caine's room. Till now, I haven't noticed how nice the floor was. It looks more bigger and nicer than the regular floors.

When I've seen Caine's room number, I didn't mind to knock before making my way in but soon regretting it. He was asleep, his long lashes surrounding his cheek. I slowly left the room and turned around to head out but crashed into someone. It wasn't a surprised by who I bumped into. My eyes were locked on him but his weren't on me, they were looking behind me.

"Is that Caine Maroon?" He asked but lowly as if he was asking himself. I looked behind at the closed door and shut my eyes closed. Rory wasn't supposed to know Caine was in the hospital instead of living his life somewhere else, nobody is supposed to know that Caine is rather in fact sick and is trying fight for his life.

I looked back at him and only stare up at him. I kept my mouth shut, aware of the stare he was giving me. I gripped the door handle afraid he was going to walk past me and open the door to see if Caine was actually there.

We kept our eyes locked onto each other until he backed away from me. Soon my grip to the handle loosened up, when he backed away.

"I didn't know that-" he started but I soon stopped him.

"Well you weren't supposed to know" I snapped, my voice coming out hard and loud. I was mad at him for knowing the secret I've been trying to keep hidden, but I was mostly mad at myself. If I just didn't come at this hour I wouldn't be in this position that I'm in right now and Rory wouldn't have known about Caine.

Rory being Rory only threw me a blank stare before he turned away and started to walk away. My heart soon picked up when a thought crossed my mind. Soon I followed after him and grabbed his arm, his body turning towards me when I tugged him. His blue eyes only then gave me a strange look.

"Don't tell the others" I ask, my voice dead but my eyes pleading to him. I expected him to shrug me off and walk away but instead he stared at me with an emotionless stare. He looked down at my hand that was gripping his arm but I didn't mind taking it away. I wasn't going to let him go without an answer.

"You'll owe me, Thea Nightingale" he only said before walking off.

When I came back to Bruce's house, I wasn't surprised when I've found his figure in front of the house, his body lazily leaning of the gates. His eyes were wondering around and I wondered for how long he was there. Once he saw the car, he leaned off and walked inside. When Kace parked in the car in the drive way, I hoped off and went past Bruce but he didn't let me go that quickly. With a tug on my arm I threw him one of my looks, though he wasn't looking at me.

"Where did she go?" He asked Kace, his lips forming into a grim.

"To the hospital, sir. She visited her fiancé, Caine Maroon though I've seen her talking with a friend, a boy specifically." My eyes flew over to Kace, his face was expressionless and his hands were folded behind, work mode only. His eyes never left Bruce's though I wanted him to look at me to gladly receive him with a cold glare.

Kace is no friend to you, Thea.

"Good, good. You may leave now" Bruce waves him off before gripping my arm harder and focusing his eyes on me. He puts one finger on his lips, with thinking look on his face.

"Caine Maroon, he was such a sweet boy. Oh I'm sorry, he is. He isn't dead, yet." His eyes were focused towards the ground but then looked back at me with a taunting look as well as a smile. I pulled my arm away from his grip before picking up my hand and throwing it across his face. His face was forcefully thrown to the side.

"Don't you ever, ever, mention Caine Maroon's name in your mouth again or else" by then my face was informs his, but he wasn't facing me. I grabbed his chin and made him face me, gripping it harder by every passing second.

"Or else what?" he asked as he removed my hand, now his turn to hold me but instead of gripping my chin, it was my neck. He a step closer and gripped me harder. I pushed him away but not hard enough to let go of me, but he did loosen his grip on me and I took it as an advantage to remove myself out of his hold.

"Your not capable of anything, your just a se-" I cut him off by pushing him hard.

"You don't know what I'm capable of!" I didn't let him have a word because I walked away from him. I made my way towards the entrance, my fast heavy steps soon echoed around the house. I wasn't aware of the figure following until I felt an arm pull me from my upper arm. Before even turning around, I pushed the person away from me.

"Ms Nightingale, I-" Kace started but I didn't hear any of it.

"Don't touch me" I say through gritted teeth and walked away.
