Chapter 15: 𝑋𝐼𝐼𝐼

'I would love to be your girlfriend'.

Jason couldn't contain his happiness upon hearing these words leaving Lily's lips. He felt on top of the world.

How did he get this lucky?

After twirling Lily around and hearing her adorable laughter, Jason placed Lily down and looked at her beaming face.

Lily's eyes sparkled with happiness and Jason melted looking at this sight. Suddenly the black cap he was wearing was snatched off of his head by none other than Lily.

She placed it on her head and looked up at Jason mischievously. He narrowed his eyes at her playfully and Lily took off running away from him.

The rain has quietened down a bit by now and the wind calmed down except for the few gusts of wind here and there.

Lily turned around to see how far away was Jason, but she squealed in surprise as Jason's hands wrapped around her waist and pulled her towards his chest.

"Oh my god you scared me! How are you this fast?"

"Nah you're just too slow with these short legs of yours"

Lily gasped dramatically at this and turned around then poked his chest with her index finger.

"How dare you?"

"Isn't it the truth?"

"So? That's not my point"

"And what's your point?"

"You are not allowed to say that"

"And why not?"

"Because I said so"

"You're too adorable" Jason replied tapping her now red nose with his index finger.

"Don't change the subject"

"Let's get you warm, daffodil, you'll get sick. Look at this clown nose you have now"

Jason was enjoying seeing Lily riled up. Her red button nose was the cutest thing he ever saw and he just wanted to plant a kiss there.

Lily's mouth dropped in shock as Jason smirked at her and walked away, knowing well that she'll follow.

"Don't walk away from me, mister" Lily called behind him and he chuckled in return.

He could hear the sound of her patter on the wet ground behind him and that confirmed that she was following him.

Suddenly the sound of her steps stopped "Come on, Lily, before it starts pouring again"

"Lily?" Jason turned around only to see Lily's body laying down on the ground.

"What are you doing? Lily?"

At first, Jason thought she was playing him, but the sight of her laying on the ground gave him a flashback to when he found her on the ground in her room, and his heart constricted.

Jason rushed towards Lily and cradled her head to his chest and removed her hair away from her face then lightly smacked her cheeks trying to wake her up.

He shouldn't have taken her out in the rain.

Jason freaked out and after a couple attempts of trying to wake her up he took his phone out and called one of his bodyguards that were always around the school in case of anything.

"Get the car ready" He ordered through the phone before carrying Lily, princess style, then rushed towards the car.

As The car sped down the road towards the hospital, Jason tried his best to get Lily to wake up.

"Lily, please wake up"

Lily hummed in return but still didn't open her.

"Open those pretty eyes for me, bambina"

"Jason" Lily faintly spoke with her eyes still closed.

"Shh, you'll be okay, Fiore. Just hang on we're almost there"

Jason's heart aches with sadness and fear as he caresses Lily's hair. He couldn't help but feel guilty, if he didn't take her out in the rain and cold weather she would've been awake now.

Lily moaned in pain as she squeezed Jason's hand that was holding hers.

"What is it, Lily? What hurts?"

Jason tried to ask but Lily mumbled something incoherently and he couldn't understand what she said.

As they reached the hospital, Lily was rushed to the emergency room and Jason was asked a few questions about what happened before he was asked to wait in the waiting area .

Jason kept pacing around the room the whole time with worry radiating off of him.

She'll be okay, she has too.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks. 'Lily's parents, I should call them' he thought.

He managed to get Lily's dad number back when he wanted to ask for permission to take Lily to the charity ball with him.

He fished his phone out and opened his phone application, finding his name. His thumb hovered over the calling button as he hesitated not knowing what to say.

He was supposed to keep her safe, not get her sick.

"Hello?" Mr.White confused voice came through the speakers.

"Mr. White" Jason's nervous voice got him worried.

" What's up, son? Is everything alright?"

"Well... don't freak out, but Lily fainted and I had to take her to the hospital"

"What?! Is she okay? What hospital are you at?"

"She's in the emergency room, the doctors didn't let me know how she is yet. We're at the 'Angel Hospital'."

"We'll be there within thirty minutes, please stay by her side"

"Of course, sir . I won't leave her alone"

As Jason cut the call a nurse approached and told him that Lily was sent to a normal room and that the doctor is with her right now and he can go ahead to see her.

Jason rushed to the room 131 and found the door left ajar. As he got closer he heard Lily talking to someone.

"Thank you for understanding, Dr.Sam".

He pushed the door wide open and entered. Lily was sitting on the hospital bed with an IV attached to her.

"You're the young man that got Lily to the hospital?"

"Yes"

"Well I have to thank you then for looking after her"

"Do you know her?" Jason asked, confused by his words.

"Yes! He- he's our family doctor" Lily responded a little too fast.

Weird.

"Did you contact Lily's parents?"

"Yes, they're be here in a bit"

"Okay then, there's no need for me here. When your parents come, Lily, please tell them to pass by my office so that we could have a chat and to fill the paperwork"

"I will, thank you Dr. Sam"

"Wait, aren't you going to tell me why she fainted? Is she okay?"

"She's fine, son, don't worry. Just a low blood pressure" The doctor said and quickly left, closing the door behind him.

Jason felt like something was off. His thoughts were cut when Lily called his name. "I'm okay, Jason"

He then walked towards her and sat on the edge of the bed next to Lily then grabbed her hand in his before lifting it up and kissing it.

"You scared me to death, Lil"

"I'm sorry, I'm better now"

"I shouldn't have got you outside in this weather"

"Don't say that. If you didn't I .. I wouldn't be able to call you my boyfriend" Lily said shyly and looked down at their intertwined hands.

"Così fottutamente carino" (So fucking cute).

"Okayyy, I don't know that much Italian, translate."

Jason smirked at her then placed a long kiss on her forehead. He wrapped his arms around Lily holding her tightly to his chest.

She's okay.

Lily hugged him back and closed her eyes trying so hard not to stop her lips from wobbling, she can't cry in front of him.

He'll know.

The door burst open and Lily's mom barged in with teary eyes.

"Oh Lily, are you okay now, honey?"

"I'm okay now mom"

Lily hugged her mother back and tried to calm her down. Jason stood up to give them their space before excusing himself saying he'll get Lily some food and something for them to drink.

"My little girl, what happened?" Her dad said taking a seat next to her.

"I might have played in the rain.." Lily trailed off and her parents frowned.

"Honey, you know you have to be careful and take good care of yourself."

"What's the point mom?" Lily said with a broken smile.

"Lily-" Her dad didn't know what to say.

Lily sighed before apologizing and promising to be safe next time.

"I don't want Jason to know anything about this, please"

"But baby don't you think he has the right to kno-"

"No mom. I don't want Jason to know....please"

"Alright dear, don't stress yourself now. We promise not to tell him"

"Thank you"

Both her parents engulfed her as they tried hardly to stay strong for her

A knock sounded on the door followed by Jason entering the room with some water, coffee and food.

Lily's dad thanked him as he placed his hand on his shoulder and nodded at him in appreciation.

"I didn't do anything"

"No, I'm really happy Lily has someone like you as her friend. Thank you so much"

Friend? He's definitely more than that now.

"It's my pleasure Mrs.White"

"Nonsense, no need to be formal, you can call me Jenny or mom or whatever you like"

Jason nodded in response and looked back at a smiling Lily as he mirrored her smile.

"We'll go and deal with the papers now" Lily's dad said.

"Do you mind staying with Lily, Jason?" Jenny asked, already knowing the response.

"Not at all, Jenny" Jason replied while his eyes were still focused on Lily, and Jenny smiled warmly at that.
