Chapter 17: 𝑋𝑉

I hate Mondays.

I swear it was Friday like five minutes ago.

Lily grumbled as she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to get ready. Although she had the whole week off, it was still not enough.

It was a week out of a dream. Yes she was tired and needed much rest, but she got to spend a lot of time with Jason and that what made it special.

Back to Mondays. Monday is that one day where even your coffee needs coffee. You either run the day or it runs you , and in most cases ...it will run you.

When Lily was young she used to feel bad for Monday, everyone seemed to hate it only because it's the start of a new week. She even once cried to her mom about how people bully Monday and hurt it's feelings.

She was such an innocent, sweet and naive child.

Maybe she still carries a bit of these attributes till now.

Suddenly Jason crossed her mind and a feeling of excitement surged through her body. No matter what, she always seems to look forward to spending time with Jason.

As she finished getting ready she kissed her parents goodbye and headed outside towards the school bus. Jason offered to pick her up and drop her off instead of riding "that filthy bus filled with f -word idiots " as he said .

Such a colorful vocabulary he has.

But Lily didn't agree because her house isn't on his way to school and that would be a waste of time and fuel money. Jason of course, using his so nice words, argued with her, money was his least concern.

Lily won the argument, obviously.

While Lily stared outside the window of the bus, Jason was stressed. He decided that he should tell Lily the truth today, she has every right to know. He didn't want to hide anything from her, but the idea of Lily being scared of him and ending things between them was sickening.

He got so used to her, to her kind heart, to her stubborn ass, to her smile and laugh and everything about her. He can't imagine living without being able to see her everyday.

Lily and Jason didn't share any morning classes tiday so that means he won't be able to meet her until break time. That dampened his mood even more, now he has to start his stupid day with the face of people that aren't Lily.

Goddammit, Jason.

Get a grip.

As the break time approached, Jason stared up at the clock and counted the seconds until he could leave this cursed classroom and go see Lily.

Just three more minutes and he will be able to hold her between his arms and hug the living hell out of her then plant a kiss on her forehead and her cute little nose.

Jason was brought out of daze by the sound of bullets echoing through the hallways. And suddenly Jason was scared.

He wasn't scared for himself or the students or the teachers. The only thoughts that popped through his mind was Lily.

His brothers knew how to handle themselves and he had no doubt their bodyguards were already getting them out. Lily on the other hand was all alone.

She had no friends because all of her time was spent with Jason. Lily is a strong girl and she can handle herself, but Jason couldn't handle the tug of fear on his nerves.

Their school forbids any type of guns, knives and so on. But Jason couldn't give to shits about these rules. He's in the mafia and being protected is way more important than a few stupid rules.

He wouldn't use it unless it's necessary.

Slipping the gun out of his pants, he ushered the other student to stay quiet and block the door with chairs after her leaves.

As Jason reached his hand towards the handle, the door swung open and Jason quickly aimed his gun towards the intruder. A series of screams were heard and Jason shushed them.

"It's fine, He's not a threat"

Jason lowered his gun at the sight of his bodyguard before asking him about his siblings. The bodyguard explained that Rick managed to pull them all out safely and they're heading back home.

His dad was of course informed.

"Your brother Cole wouldn't leave without you, Rick had to drag him a bit"

Jason softly smiled at that and nodded his head. "I have to go get Lily"

"Sir, it's not safe. You can go and I'll get her"

"No, I will go myself. You go and get the car ready"

"But , sir, with all due respect, I can't do that. The shooters are from a rival gang and they'll kill you the second they lay their eyes on you"

"What's your name"

"Levi, sir"

"Levi, I don't give a flying fuck. I'm going no matter what and you're wasting my time. I have to find her before she gets hurt"

"Alright, sir, I'll go with you. The car is ready and our men should be here any minute"

"Good, follow me"

Jason and Levi moved silently through the halls. The door behind them was shut and locked the moment they stepped outside.

The electricity went off, but the sunlight still came through some classes so it wasn't really that dark. Loud voices and screams were heard throughout the school and Jason clenched his jaw in anger.

I'll kill every single fucking one if them. How dare they?

Jason reached Lily's class and swung the door open only to hear the screech of scared teenagers blowing his ear.

"Shhhh" Jason shushed them and Levi closed the door behind them.

They didn't even lock the door or even block it, what the hell? Are they stupid. He looked around the classroom trying to spot Lily, but she was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is Lily?" Jason asked the petrified students as his heart sped with worry .

"S- she l- left to the bathroom minutes before the shooting s-started" The old teacher who was ducked under her table stuttered.

Jason sighed and ordered them to do the same thing as the other students. Lock the door and keep quiet till it's clear.

Heading to the nearest bathroom Jason could hear a few unclear voices coming from the corner. He ducked behind the wall along with Levi and peeked behind it.

He couldn't see much, there were three guys with their backs turned towards him. They were all armed and surrounding a student .

It was a girl, and she was on the ground as they laughed at her. The strand of blonde hair grabbed Jason's attention and his heart ran cold . Is that Lily?

Before he could make a move one of the guys moved a little and Jason sighed in relief . It wasn't Lily, just a girl with the same hair color.

That relief was short lived as the bathroom door swung open and Lily rushed out with a fire extinguisher in her hands.

She let out a scream before smashing it on one of the guys head, sending him down on the floor. The guy groaned in pain and blood covered his face and hands as he held his now injured head.

That's my girl.

Jason quickly rushed towards her, with Levi right behind him, and pointed his gun towards the guys. One of them had already grabbed Lily as she struggled to get out of his grip.

"Let her go before I blow your useless brain all over the floor"

"Ah King how lovely of you to join us"

"I. Said. Let. Her. Go" Jason grit out in anger.

"Oh, is she an important person? A girlfriend, perhaps?" The guy holding Lily said then raised Lily's chin using the tip of the gun.

And that only made Jason livid.

Lily was making weird faces with her face and if they weren't in a serious situation, Jason would probably laugh at her.

Lily looked down at his private area and scrunched her face. What the fuck? Why is she staring at my dick?

Lily was about to shout at Jason in anger for not understanding what she's trying to say. Lily huffed before head butting the guy who's holding her then bent down hitting his dick in process.

Jason was fast to react and shot the guy straight in the head while Levi shot the other one in his shoulder then both legs. The third guy has already passed out.

Few drops of blood hit Lily's chest, and the other poor girl was crying as she placed both hands on her ears.

Lily turned around and smiled at Jason with a half horrified face before lifting her thumbs up. " Good team work, guys. Jason, darling, you're a bit stupid or slow, but it's okay I can be smart for the both of us. Now excuse me , I think imma pass out"

Jason rushed towards Lily at the same time his men filled the halls with guns and Lily almost had a heart attack.
