Worry, fear, nervousness, anger, sadness and despair. Jason was battling all these feelings at once as he sat on the ground in front of the emergency room praying for Lily's health.
He was worried over Lily's condition and feared what the doctor would say. He was nervous to hear a news that would sadden his soul to the point it will no longer be able to love. He felt anger at how desperate and useless he was at this moment and the fact that he can only wait ticked him beyond what you think.
Everyone around him came and left ,tried to assure him and gave him support, but all these are empty words. He won't feel at ease until he sees her , until the doctor comes out and tells him that she's going to be okay.
That burning feeling in his bones wasn't helping him to calm down l, something felt wrong and it made him sick and nauseous.
Please Lily don't leave me...
It's been four hours since they brought Lily in and yet the doctor didn't get out of the emergency room and Jason was on the verge of losing his sanity.
"Honey, why don't you come out with me to the garden, maybe have a breath of fresh air and drink water" Jason's mom said as she crouched in front of him stroking his hair.
"No, I'm not leaving until I know she's okay. I am not leaving until I'm sure Lily and our baby are okay. I won't .... I can't, mom"
"Your mother is right, Jason. You've been sitting in the same position for hours now, go freshen up a bit, I promise I will call you immediately when the doctor is out" Lily's mother encouraged him.
"I . Will . Not leave until that doctor gets out of the goddamn room" Jason said ending the argument.
His mom sighed and stood up walking towards her husband with concern for her son. If anything happens to Lily, Jason will be crushed.
"Here, take a sip of water at least" Lily's dad offered to Jason.
Jason really didn't want to, he felt like he's going to puke the moment anything touches his tongue. But he accepted and barely took a small sip of water just so that they could stop bothering him.
The door of the emergency room opened and Jason, as quick as the speed of light, stood up and rushed towards it, but it wasn't Lily's doctor. It was one of the assisting nurses, Jason asked her how Lily was desperate to know what's going on.
"I'm sorry I cannot give you any information. The doctor will be out in a bit and he will tell you everything"
That was enough to fuel Jason's anger to the max. No one seemed to tell him what the fuck is going on with his Fiore. He smashed his hand into the wall and the poor nurse ran for her life
"Jason, calm down, son" His dad placed his hands on both his shoulders and squeezed them lightly, trying to help him get his shit together.
"There's something bad going on, dad. I can feel it, I can't live without her, dad. I can't."
"I know, kiddo, I know. Toughen up, you need to be strong for her, Lily wouldn't like to see you like this."
"I'm trying, God knows I'm trying, but I feel like she's slowly slipping away from me and I can do nothing but stand here and watch"
The sound of the door opening again grabbed their attention and finally the doctor came out of the room, but that look on his face got Jason weak in his legs and they almost gave up on him.
"Doctor, please tell us she's okay" Lily's mother cried out.
The doctor avoided eye contact as he stared down with pity and Jason heartstrings raptured.
"Is she..... dead?" Jason asked with such a cold tone and zero emotions.
"No, Mr. King, she's not."
"THEN WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG?" Jason's cold tone suddenly went burning with rage . It's like he lost it and he couldn't control himself anymore.
"Calm down, Jason" The doctor said.
"Don't fucking tell me to calm down when my pregnant wife is laying down in the emergency room and I have no fucking idea what's happening. Tell me what the fuck is going on"
"You're wife, Lily, has went into a coma"
"Coma? Why? She's going to wake up right" Her mother asked desperately"
"We don't know what happened, but the treatment that was going great failed on her. It's like her body suddenly rejected the medications, we don't know how long she will be in the coma, we don't even know .... how long she has . We will be able to tell you exactly in the next two days, but for now there's nothing more we can do"
"Can I see her?" Jason asked as he felt the energy drain out of him.
"Yes of course, just don't make lots of noise and try not to go in all together"
"What about the baby?"
"Your daughter is completely fine, Jason. We're taking care of both the girls"
"Daughter..."
"Yes, your baby is a girl. I'm truly sorry for the recent events and I'll do my best for them. I'll come to check on them later" The doctor said as he left them in complete shock and helplessness.
Lily fainted before they could reveal what the baby's gender was and now knowing that she's a girl, just what he wanted, his heart ached. Lily didn't even get to know her baby's gender.
Jason entered Lily's room and closed the door behind him with trembling hands. There she was, laying on the bed looking like an injured angel. She looked severely ill, yet she still somehow looked as beautiful as ever.
Jason slowly reached out his hand and held Lily's hand, placing a kiss on the inside of her palm. Her hands were colder than the freezing ice and that didn't set well with him.
Lily always had warm hands whenever she touched him and them being cold was like a slap to his face, as if it's a reminder of how lifeless he will be without her.
Jason brought her hands closer to his mouth and blew out his warm breath on them in an attempt to warm her hands up. He proceeded to do this for a few minutes while rubbing her hands with his until they felt warm again.
Jason stared at the sleeping beauty and the inner kid in him urged him to kiss her, maybe she'll wake up just like in the disney movies he watched with his mother as a kid. Just like the movies Sophia forced him to watch with her.
And so he did. Placing a kiss on her pouty cherry lips he waited for her to move , to talk to him or even blink. But nothing, like she didn't even feel it.
Jason knew that this was silly and childish, but deep down he was disappointed. He caressed her face, counting the freckles on her face, fifteen freckles, they were all there. Yes he counted her freckles whenever she fell asleep on his lap, it made him feel at peace for some reason.
"Lily, Fiore? We're having a baby girl. Come on, love, wake up for me ,for our daughter. We still need to buy her clothes, toys and lots of stuff. You need to teach me how to make her milk bottle and how to change her diapers. She's going to be
a stubborn kid just like her mom , and I'm sure she will also be as beautiful and precious as you are. You're going to be a great mother, and I'm going to spoil our little girl to the point everyone will be obliged to treat her like a queen. I miss your blue eyes, I miss your voice and laughter already, please, baby, be strong for me and our daughter. I'm waiting for you don't leave me waiting forever, daffodil"
Jason's tears ran down his cheeks as he placed a kiss on the tip of her nose. He ran his hand through her hair and placed the other one on her belly, he wanted his girls to feel his love and support in any way.
"I love you, my sweet girls"
Jason wouldn't budge out of the room. He stayed as her parents cane i t to see her , he stayed whenever anyone and no one came in. He kept talking to Lily and his baby girl the whole time , assuring and supporting them until his body gave up on him and he fell asleep next to them.
That night Jason dreamt of his small family sitting in their garden basking under the sunlight and laughing their hearts out.
Jason and Lily haven't thought of any baby names ,yet. But in that dream Lily called their daughter by her name.
Her name was Hope....

(A/N): As I mentioned before my cousins name (may her soul rest in peace) was Amal, which means hope in Arabic.
