CHAPTER 25
MISHTI'S POV
I smile as I enter the compound of the amusement park. This place is huge. Standing from here, I can see so many rides and various booths that grab my attention almost immediately. I grabbed onto Abir's hand and pull him towards the biggest one I can see from here.
The roller coaster.
I heard him groan in frustration behind, which I very conveniently ignored.
Today, it is just me and Abir since we decided that we would let the two lovebirds enjoy their day. I thought convincing Abir to come with me would be very difficult, considering he was strongly against the idea of going to an amusement park initially. But I was quite surprised when he said yes without me trying so much to convince him.
Anyways, I march my way towards the queue to get on the huge ride called 'The Big Beast'. The queue is not very long since it is not peak hours yet. The size of the yellow track amazes me. It has so many twists and turns and at one point, there is a whole 360 degree turn that already makes me a little anxious.
I heard Abir chuckle a little beside me and I scowled at him, "What?"
He shook his head and controlled his laughter before grinning widely at me.
I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back at the ride. I can hear the other people screaming during the ride that makes me even more anxious. It has been so many years since I went to an amusement park and back then, I was allowed only at child-friendly rides. This ride looks so thrilling and dangerous at the same time that makes me so nervous.
All day I have been so excited to go on huge roller coaster rides. But now, I am also feeling extremely nervous. I have heard that sometimes huge accidents take place during these rides.
What if we fall down during the complete 360 degree turn?
What if one of the bolts holding the track together become loose?
I heard Abir chuckle again before he spoke, "So, is little Mishtipie scared, huh?", he bumped his hip with mine.
I bumped him back with my hip with a little more force that made him loose his balance slightly, "Abbi, I am not scared and I am not little.", I rolled my eyes.
"Oh yeah?", he asked and bumped me with his hip again. But this time, he bumped me with a lot of force that made me stumble sidewards and I almost fell on a guy walking with a child.
I was furious.
That idiot was now laughing, when I walked back to the queue.
"Abir, you are dead", I started hitting him wherever possible. But somehow, that made Abir laugh even more. After giving him one last hit across his shoulder, I gave up.
My hands started hurting after all the beatings but unfortunately, that idiot was still laughing. I don't understand what he is made up of.
Huh. Irritating Rajvansh.
Suddenly, two large hands hugged me by my shoulders and I was pulled into someone. I crushed into his large muscular abs that made my heart skip a beat. I looked up to see Abir giving me a warm heart felt smile that made all the butterflies in my stomach spring into action.
"Don't worry. I'm there with you, right? Nothing will happen. Don't be scared."
I hummed in response and did not move an inch. This position was very soothing and comfortable that I would never give this position up. Not even if you give me one million rupees.
I laid my head on his chest, exactly above his heart, snuggling into him. I could feel him tense below me and immediately I could feel his heart race. I smiled in content and snuggled more into him.
As the queue cleared up slowly, we walked upto the counter and got into adjacent seats. I buckled my seat belt tightly and pulled it five times to see if it was actually tight enough. I held Abir's hand in mine tightly and laid back in my seat.
"Mishtipie, just chill, okay?"
I hummed and gave his hand a squeeze, which made him chuckle again.
The cart started moving and slowly it gained momentum before it started moving in full speed. The air hit my face in full force and I screamed as the cart took a sudden turn that made me bump into Abir. I turned to look at him to find him laughing and grinning from ear to ear, enjoying himself thoroughly.
I gulped down when I realized that there was a sharp fall coming up next. My nerves grew as the bend came closer and closer. The cart went down the track with super speed that gave me a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I screamed and held onto Abir's hand even more tightly while he shouted and laughed continuously.
The cart next went up to a height, making my stomach lurch and I immediately spotted the 360 degree turn coming my way. But as the cart rotated swiftly, it was not as scary as I had expected it to be. That thought boosted my confidence up as another sharp fall came my way. This time, when the fall came, even though my stomach was in knots, I enjoyed this feeling. I laughed and shouted along with Abir who grinned and yelled over the noise of the ride, "See its not as scary as it seems!"
I chose to ignore his comment and laughed throughout the rest of the ride. By the time the cart came to a halt, it had me wanting for more.
After getting down the cart, we connected our hands back and walked deep into the place looking at various stalls, booths, rides and foot courts.
Abir's eyes glinted with happiness suddenly and he started pulling me towards one of the booths.
"Mishtipie, you chose the first one. So I get to choose the next one."
I huffed, "Okay, but tell me which one!"
He grinned evilly, " 'The Haunted Mansion'! "
I stared at him as if he was mad before turning my back on him and trying to walk in the opposite direction. But unfortunately, since he was much stronger than I am, he pulled me back and I couldn't escape his clutch.
After a lot of struggling, he held onto my arms tightly before encircling his other arm across my legs and hoisting me up in the air, bridal style. Thankfully, I was wearing a full-length jean and a shirt, instead of a pair of shorts. I would have definitely fainted due to an over-racing heart if he had held my bare thighs this tightly.
Even through the piece of clothing, I could feel his hands digging into my skin, giving me tingles. Goosebumps erupted across my skin and my breathing hitched when I realized how close his face was, to mine. He had a crinkle of laughter in his face and I could see sweat beads on his forehead, that made me want to rub them off. His black hair was messed and his hazel orbs gleamed with happiness and mischief.
When I came back to reality, I cleared my throat before speaking, "Abir, put me down."
He smiled, "Nope", he said, popping the 'p'.
I looked in front to see an aunty frowning at us, "Abbi, people are watching. Just put me down."
He shook his head, "I don't care. If I put you down, you will run away."
I rolled my eyes, "No, I won't. I'll come to this ride. Put me down."
He looked straight into my eyes, "Pinky promise?"
I sighed, "Pinky promise."
Satisfied with my answer, he put me down and held onto my hand very tightly. He rushed through the crowd towards the ride, pulling me along with him.
I chuckled at his cute excited self.
He could be such a kid sometimes.
Since there was a queue, we waited for a few minutes before it was finally our turn. This ride had a cart-train which would go through a dark tunnel with skeletons and eerie noises. I took a huge breath before taking my seat beside Abir and held onto his hand again.
As the cart entered the dark tunnel, I could immediately hear creepy noises being played in the background. On one side I could see a skeleton hanging loosely and on the other there were weird designs in red colour, indicating blood.
The cart suddenly sped up for a few seconds, before it came to a crashing halt and I screamed as a white colour masked ghost-like figure popped up beside me. I buried my face into Abir's arms to calm myself, while he laughed.
Once again, when the cart stopped after moving in full speed, a few water droplets sprinkled on us which creeped me out but Abir continued laughing.
Seriously, what is he, a psycho?
After another few creepy scares, the ride came to an end.
I stormed away with Abir as he still continued to laugh.
"Abbi, that ride was crap."
He rolled his eyes, "Please, it was the best."
I scowled at him, "Are you mad or what?"
He grinned, "Nope. Infact, quite the opposite actually. I'm a genius!"
Huh. Self-obsessed Rajvansh.
I scowled, "Seriously, your choice sucks!"
He had a content smile on his face, "Oh yeah? You have no idea how perfect my choice is!"
I had a feeling he was no longer talking about rides.
