I should’ve fought harder.

I should’ve screamed, pushed him away, done something—but instead, I lay beneath him, breathless, burning, drowning in his darkness.

Taehyun smirked, his hands still pinning mine above my head, his weight pressing into me, staking his claim.

"You keep trying to run," he murmured, voice dripping with dark amusement. "And yet, you keep ending up under me like this."

I clenched my jaw. "Let me go."

His grip tightened.

"No," he whispered. "You don’t get to run from me anymore, sweetheart."

A slow, lazy drag of his fingers down my arm, trailing heat in their wake. His lips hovered over mine, teasing, daring me to close the distance.

I wouldn’t.

I couldn’t.

Because if I let myself give in again, I knew there would be no coming back.

Taehyun tilted his head, his gaze dark and knowing.

"You’re fighting yourself, not me," he whispered. "But it’s useless, isn’t it?"

His fingers slid under my jaw, tilting my head back.

I swallowed hard, refusing to react.

He hummed, as if amused by my resistance.

Then, his lips brushed against my throat.

A sharp gasp slipped out before I could stop it.

Taehyun chuckled, his teeth grazing my skin. "So sensitive, princess."

I hated him.

I hated the way his voice slithered through me, the way my body betrayed me every damn time he touched me.

"You’re playing a dangerous game," I whispered, trying to ignore the heat pooling in my stomach.

His smirk deepened. "Sweetheart, I own the game."

Then—

A loud bang outside the room.

Taehyun stilled.

His expression darkened instantly, all amusement vanishing as danger settled in his features.

I knew that look.

Predatory. Deadly.

Then, he let go of my wrists.

I barely had time to react before he was off the bed, moving toward the door with quiet, lethal grace.

I sat up, my breath still uneven, my mind screaming at me to take this chance and run.

But before I could even move—

Taehyun turned back, his eyes locking onto me.

"Stay."

One word. A command.

A warning.

But I wasn’t his pet.

I wouldn’t just obey.

So the second he opened the door and stepped out, I slid off the bed and ran to the window.

Locked.

Of course.

I turned to the desk, scanning for anything—a phone, a weapon, something I could use to get out.

My fingers trembled as I yanked open drawers. Empty. Empty. Empty.

Then—

A small, black USB.

I frowned, picking it up.

Why would Taehyun have something like this hidden in a drawer?

Something about it sent a chill down my spine.

Voices outside the room.

I didn’t have time to think.

I shoved the USB into my bra just as the door slammed open.

I spun around—

And nearly screamed.

It wasn’t Taehyun.

It was Jae.

Tall, broad-shouldered, his dark eyes flickered between me and the bed with a slow smirk.

"Did I interrupt something?" he asked, his voice smooth, but laced with danger.

I took a step back. "Get out."

Jae ignored me, his gaze sharp, calculating. "Boss said to stay put."

I swallowed hard. "I don’t take orders from him."

Jae chuckled, stepping closer. "Oh, sweetheart. You don’t take orders from him?"

His smirk deepened.

"Then tell me why he looks at you like you belong to him."

I froze.

Jae tilted his head, watching me like he was studying my reaction.

Then—

His eyes dropped to my chest.

I stiffened.

"What's that?" His voice was too casual.

I tried to stay still, tried to keep my breath even. "What?"

His smirk sharpened.

"The USB, sweetheart."

Shit.

I turned to run—

But Jae was faster.

His hand shot out, grabbing my wrist, yanking me toward him.

I gasped as I slammed into his chest.

His fingers curled around my chin, forcing me to look up at him. "You really think you can steal from Taehyun and get away with it?"

My pulse pounded. "I wasn’t—"

"You were." His voice was soft, almost amused. "And now, we have a problem."

Then—

A sharp, deadly voice from the doorway.

"Let. Her. Go."

Jae stilled.

My breath hitched as I turned my head, my heart plummeting at the sight in front of me.

Taehyun stood in the doorway, his eyes burning with pure, unfiltered rage.

Jae let out a low whistle. "Damn, boss. You look like you’re about to commit murder."

Taehyun’s jaw ticked. "That depends."

His gaze flickered to where Jae’s hand was still wrapped around my wrist.

"On whether or not you let go of her. Right. Now."

Jae chuckled. "Relax. I was just messing with her."

But he let go, raising his hands in mock surrender.

"She has something that belongs to you," Jae mused. "And I was just curious about what she planned to do with it."

Taehyun’s eyes snapped to mine. Dark. Knowing.

"Give it to me."

My fingers tightened around the USB.

I shook my head. "Not until you tell me what’s on it."

A muscle in his jaw flexed.

Then—he moved.

Fast. Brutal. Unforgiving.

Before I could blink, I was backed against the wall, trapped beneath him.

His hands slammed on either side of my head, his body caging mine in.

His voice was low, dangerous. "You don’t make the rules, princess."

I lifted my chin. "Then what do I make?"

His smirk was pure sin.

"You make me crazy," he whispered. "You make me want to do things I shouldn’t."

His fingers skimmed over my hip, slow, teasing.

"You make me want to keep you here," he murmured, "forever."

My breath caught.

"You make me want to ruin you."

And then, he kissed me.

Not just a kiss. A warning. A punishment. A claim.

I was drowning.

I was burning.

And the worst part?

I wanted it.
