The air was thick as Paige dribbled the ball down the court. Anticipation was in the air, the fans in the crowd at the edge of their seats.

Sweat trickled down her face as she looked at her teammates, Arike wide open, waiting for Paige to pass the ball to her. She passes the ball swiftly, assisting her teammate in sinking a game winning three.

The entire arena went up, hollers and hoots heard from all directions. It'd been over a decade since the Dallas Wings have won a championship, and it only took Paige Bueckers' arrival to win their first. Her teammates embraced her and Arike, smiles present on all of their faces. The Aces hadn't taken this title, it was theirs.

Despite the praises and the acknowledgments from everyone in the arena, Paige's eyes darted around, looking for her person. After looking around like a mad woman, she'd finally found Robin smiling on the sidelines, waiting for the blonde to find her.

Not wasting time, she'd ran to embrace the blonde. Proud was not even close to how Robin was feeling right now. The tight hug felt like it lasted for hours, and for a moment, it felt like they were the only two there.

The women felt blessed when they'd found out that Paige would be drafted to the Dallas Wings, located in the same city where Robin would be pursuing Medical School. Whether it was fate or luck, they didn't know. But what they did know was that they'd be soaking up every moment they'd have together.

While moving from Connecticut to Texas was a transition and their busy schedules also had them in a frenzy, whether it was Paige's traveling due to being in the league or Robin's constant testing, they always found their way back to one another.

What's been officially two years together has felt like eternity. Both of the women had grown together, learning the ins and outs of their personalities, their likes and dislikes, dreams and nightmares. Right now, in the College Park Center, the women wanted this moment to last forever. The cheers and the excitement could not drown out the passion between them.

"I'm so proud of you, my love." Robin said, breaking away from the embrace to hold the sides of Paige's face. "So proud, baby."

Paige smiled softly, placing the national championship hat on her girlfriend's head, "Thank you. I love you."

"I love you more."

In order to celebrate, Robin decided to plan a special dinner for the pair at one of the nicer restaurants in downtown Dallas.

Paige was finishing up, letting down the braids that her girlfriend had done so she could have waves. Robin stood behind her smiling, watching her in the mirror.

"I'm sorry, babe," Paige said, trying to hurry, "I'm ready!"

"No rush, gorgeous." Robin said, walking up to her and wrapping her arms around her waist, resting her head on her shoulder, "There's no rush. I just like watching you get ready."

Paige smiled, turning around in Robin's arms, "If you keep looking at me with those 'fuck me' eyes we won't be able to make it to the dinner you planned."

Robin giggled, raising to her tiptoes to softly kiss her girl. The blonde tried to deepen the kiss, but she pulled away quickly, a smirk dancing at her lips.

"Let's get going."

The restaurant was dimly lit, and the first thing that Paige had noticed was that no one was there. Confusion was set on her face, as a waiter led her and Robin to the rooftop seating.

"Oh shit, baby!" Robin said, panicked, "I left my bag in the car. Keep going up and I'll be right there!"

Paige was about to argue that she'd go with her, but before she could open her mouth, Robin was already darting back to get her bag out of the car.

Perplexed, Paige kept following the waiter, until she was faced with rose petals leading her further into the outdoor space.

"What the hell," Paige mumbled, her eyebrows furrowing as she walked into the space. Her heartbeat started to go faster, anticipation sitting in her gut. SZA being playing in the space and tears immediately found the blonde's eyes. She knew what was going on.

Finally, she'd made it to the space. The area was lit, roses everywhere, and on the table in the center, a dozen Lego roses sitting on the table.

"I hope you like it," Robin said, a smile dancing on her face. Paige turned around quickly, walking up to her girl and pulling her into her arms.

"I love it. It's beautiful, baby." Paige said, allowing Robin to take her hands and lead her near the table. Once they finally got to the table, Paige's eyes widened, seeing the box with a diamond embedded engagement ring.

"You already know how I feel about you, because I make sure you hear it everyday. But, I'm going to reiterate it all tonight." Robin said, grabbing the box off of the table and placing it comfortably in her hands.

"Paige Madison Bueckers, you are the love of my life. There's no one who's ever even been close to being on your level and no one will ever have the opportunity to, because you are the owner of my heart. Since I met you, since you comforted my hysterical ass on the random bathroom floor of that frat house, I knew that you were heaven sent. The amount of passion that you pour into everyone, even on days that you have nothing left for yourself, is admirable. I appreciate your love and your support and your smile. You are love personified and I want to spend every waking moment with you, next to you, on the court with you. So, I'm not only asking for you to marry me, but I'm letting you know that after I graduate med school, I will be officially working as the Dallas Wings' Assistant Director of Athletic Training."

Paige was a mess, her tears running down her face as she watched the woman that she'd fallen so far in love with profess her love and dedication to her.

"So, baby, will you make me the happiest woman in the world and allow me to be your wife?" Robin asked, lowering herself down and getting on knee in front of the blonde. In that moment, the pain of kneeling in six inch LV heels was nothing compared to how fast her heart was beating.

Everyone always imagined that Paige would be the one on bended knee, asking the big question. But, Robin had bigger plans.

"Fuck, yes." Paige said between sobs, allowing Robin to place the ring on her finger. She pulled the woman up, immediately going in for a kiss.

Their family and friends began flooding out, the smiles in their faces unwavering as they watched in awe. While it wasn't easy, she made sure all of her UCONN and Dallas family were there, including Geno.

"I love you so much." Robin said between kisses, her hands around Paige's waist.

"I love you more, birdie."
