Robin had definitely regretted drinking some much the night before as she clutched her head and groaned in agony. While she wished she hadn't drank as much as she did, she was happy that the night made a turn for the better. She was still embarrassed about her panic attack that she had in the bathroom in front of Paige, she was grateful that she had her comfort.
"I'm never drinking again," Harper mumbled as she plopped down next to her friend and lying down on her shoulder, "my head is killing me."
"You and KK shouldn't have gone shot for shot. Everything doesn't have to be a competition, Harper. Now, look at you, hungover." Robin said, laughing at her friend.
KK and Harper had spent the whole night taking shots and seeing who would drink the most. Ultimately, Harper ended up winning, but everyone knew it was because the shorter girl had an extremely low tolerance.
"Well, you can't talk, Button. Every cup Paige gave to you, you gladly took it and batted your eyes. You must be feeling her or something?" Harper asked, popping her head up to look at her friend with a knowing smirk.
Robin had not told Harper about the panic attack that she had in the bathroom, because she knew she'd freak out. The friends were always there for one another, especially through tough situations like that. However, Robin didn't want anymore pity.
"Girl boo," Robin said, playfully pushing her friend's head, "we just ran into each other and got to talking, nothing serious."
"Mhm, whatever you say, Button." She said, pulling her phone out and checking her messages. Being nosey, Robin looked as well, seeing that Aubrey had asked if the pair wanted to hangout that day.
"Aubrey asked if we wa-" Harper cut her eyes at her friend, catching her already reading the message, "dang, you so nosey. What if you saw something you didn't want to? Then what?"
Robin burst out laughing, "It ain't that deep, girl. Tell her we're down though, after I get rid of this bad ass headache."
"Okay, she told us to come over her dorm. Everyone is supposed to be there, including Paige," she said, winking at Robin who rolled her eyes.
Paige was a beautiful girl, like extremely. Her bright blue eyes seemed like crystals the way stared inside of your soul. The way that she'd comforted the girl with no questions asked made her even more attracted to her. But, Robin knew better to be easily attached. She'd learned her lesson, and she would not be falling in love again.
It was her senior year, anyways. She was finishing up her degree in Sports Medicine. She'd applied to attend Med school at various different colleges, but desiring the most to be in Texas. Her and her mother had always wanted to live there, and when she was a little girl she'd promised her mother that one day she'd make that happen.
After relaxing for a little while, the pair finally got ready to spend time with their newly adopted friends. She'd decided that they should enjoy their weekend before they'd had to work their asses off at practice.
"Girl come on! You ain't gone look no better than you do by just standing in the mirror. I'm trying to get back to Aubrey fine ass. Let's go!" Harper fussed, holding the door to the their apartment impatiently.
Robin rolled her eyes, fixing her jeans so that she didn't have to button them. She fluffed out her fro once more, grabbed her bag, and walked towards the front door where her best friend waited impatiently.
"Fina-fuckin-ly!" Harper said, basically running out the dorm and towards the one exactly next to theirs.
After a quick walk, they finally knocked on KK and Aubrey's door. There was banging, then arguing, then the door swung open and KK was propped up against the door, with Aubrey panting in the floor.
"Fancy seeing you ladies here," KK said, smirking and opening the door to their dorm. The girls laughed, and entered, seeing all the girls that they'd met from last night.
"Robby, babyyy," Nika said, hopping off the sofa and running towards a giggling Robin, who gladly hugged the excited girl. "You look so pretty, what the hell?"
"Thank you, cutie," she said, releasing the girl from a hug, only to feel an arm wrapping around her and pulling her away from Nika.
"Uhnt uhnt, she was my friend first," Paige said, a frown dawning her face, "stay away from her!"
Robin laughed aloud before saying, "There's enough of me to go around."
All the girls settled into the dorm, watching the Office, while Paige, Azzi, and Ice sat on the floor building some type of Lego set on their own.
"Robin! I made you something!" Paige said, walking over to the girl with something placed behind her back. The volleyball player looked up from the video KK was showing her to see what it was.
"What is it, P?" She said, a small smile gracing her lips. She'd been watching her intently focus on someone. Her focused face was cute. Her eyebrows scrunched together and her tongue poked out just a tad. After all, she wanted it to be perfect for Robin.
"I made you this!" Paige thrusted a bouquet of lego flowers, which made Robin gasp audibly. One of her top love languages was gift receiving, and something so little, like these flowers, just appeased her so much.
"Oh my goodness, Paige," she said, reaching out and grabbing them, "I was wondering what had you all quiet over there, dude. I love these, what the hell?"
The blonde watched as Robin admired the inanimate flowers with a smile on her face. She knew how upset she was about last night, despite her strong facade. She wanted to cheer her up the best way she knew how, and that was by giving her something that she loved: legos.
Robin pulled Paige into a tight hug, before going onto her phone and snapping photos of the bouquet. While she did so, Harper watched the interaction from beside her with a smile on her face. This is what her friend needed. Even though she knew she was not ready for any type of romance in her life, she did know that what she needed was friends to pick her spirit back up.
She had a way of putting on a brave face, and while it tended to fool many people, it did not fool Harper or Paige. They could still tell that the woman was hurting because of what had occurred the day prior, especially now because everyone knows.
Miles had just posted a photo of him and Celeste from another night, and then soon after deleted all of the post of him and Robin from all his social media. Not only did that grab attention, but he also captioned the photo, "upgrade.", causing everyone to realize who he was sending shots at. She had not seen the post until now as she scrolled through her Instagram feed.
The photo was taken probably more than two weeks ago, because Robin remembered him wearing that outfit when they had seen each other for a couple of minutes after her practice. This had meant that he was cheating on her this whole time, not just yesterday. There was no telling how long he had been leading her on. Weeks? Months? The whole relationship?
The smile on Robin's face instantly dropped, as she looked at the new post. Her eyebrows furrowed as she continued to analyze the post, the caption, and the comments. Her hands shook with frustration.
"Button," Harper whispered, feeling her best friend start to shake beside her, "What's wrong?"
Robin just handed her friend the phone, while sliding her sweaty palms down her pants. She was trying everything in the books to calm down her racing heart, but she could feel another meltdown approaching. She could not do this right here, in front of the people that she had just made her friends. She did not want to make them think that she was some bitter ex girlfriend or that she was, in any way, angry because he was with someone new.
"What the fuck?"

"What's going on, Robin?" Paige asked, her hand touching her bouncing knee. But, the girl did not look up at Paige, or at anyone. All the girls crowded around her as she attempted to not allow any of the tears to fall down her face.
The girls looked at her with a sympathetic gaze, trying so hard to understand what had gotten her mood down that fast. Ice then pulls out her phone, going straight to social media where she sees the post, as well.
"Oh no, Robin," Ice mutters as she looks at the post, then dropping the phone to pull her new friend into a hug. It was as if that was when it clicked to Robin, her friends arms circling around her, that made her break into sobs.
Her facade was now broken, shattered on the ground. There was no more piecing it back together and allowing it to cover up how much the breakup had torn her apart. That was it.
The other girls saw the post on Ice's dropped phone and instantly became aware of the situation. Their hearts broke for the girl, as they winced, listening to the sorrowful sobs that came from her.
Paige was furious. Her right hand clenched in a fist, while her other rubbed circles into Robin's back. How could someone ever do this to Robin? In the small time that she'd known her personally, she could gather how much of an amazing woman she was. After coming home last night from the party, Paige could not help but search the woman's name, and immediately, stories and accolades of hers began popping up from her hometown. Robin was a dedicated and passionate person who was selfless enough to create programs for girls just like her. She spoke up about things that young girls would be afraid to do so. She was so strong.
But, Paige, and everyone else, could see that strength deteriorate right in front of their eyes. Robin had just been cheated on, dumped, and embarrassed in the last twenty four hours, and before this, she had still managed to have a smile on her face.
"You don't deserve any of this, Robin." KK said with a saddened expression, her once eager and energetic attitude morphing into an upset one. She hated seeing the people around her in any other mood than happy, which is why she constantly poured laughter and positivity into the people she cared for.
No words could soothe Robin right now. Obviously the pain from this situation was getting the best of her and she felt terrible for ruining what was supposed to be a fun day for the athletes to spend time with one another and grow their friendship.
However, the care that each of the girls was showing her was something that she had never experienced before. She was used to talking to her mother or Harper about things like this, but now, there were six other women who sat around her, wiping her face, rubbing her back, and giving her words of affirmation. Robin had never felt so cared for.
"I'm sorry," she muttered, placing her head in her hands, "I ruined our day,"
"No, you didn't," Paige said, grabbing her hand and holding it between hers, "We are here for you, Robin. We will be here for you every step of the way."
The girls all nodded, agreeing with what she was saying. In the short amount of time, they had grown attached to Harper and Robin. So, they would do everything in their power to make sure that the volleyball player was okay.
