The last week or so had been an emotional rollercoaster for me. Roger had been all over the place, he didn't know what to do with himself now the band wasn't together. I knew Brian and John felt the same way. Although all of them had degrees and were all very smart, they loved music. I knew that and I knew it was hard. John's wedding was up and coming, within the month. They had shifted the date due to the band splitting, which had only added to Holly's stress levels. To help her and try and act as a distraction for ourselves, Roger and I had offered to babysit Callie for her. To be honest, I hardly knew anything about children. I had met his younger sister Clare upon meeting his family, but she was an absolute delight. Roger walked out of the bedroom. He was dressed extremely casually compared to usual, it was so unlike him
"Hey babe" I said as happily as possible "You look nice"
"We both know I don't. I just don't feel like myself" he said sadly "I feel like if I'm not some well known drummer then why should I dress like it. Otherwise I just look like an arse"
"Well I personally think you could look hot in anything Meddows. You'll be back to yourself soon enough. Plus your career shouldn't define what you chose to wear, you define that" I smiled stroking my hand over his chest. He smiled down at me, I was wearing a green flowy floral dress.
"You look beautiful Evie" he placed a kiss gently to my temple "I seem to forget to tell you that sometimes" I smiled back at him, drinking in the rare moment of us slipping back in to normality.
RING! A doorbell went signalling someone was at the door. Roger moved to it quickly, his upper arms tensing up as he heaved the large door open.
"Hello" A tired looking Holly stood at the door, a baby in her hands. Callie lay in her arms beautifully, her bright eyes blinking curiously at Roger. He couldn't seem to help the smile that crept on to his afce as he cooed
"Hey Holly and Hello little Callie. Aren't you just beautiful?"
"Well I do try" Holly said flipping her hair jokingly as Roger scooped Callie from her arms and she threw herself on the sofa. Letting out a sigh of relief.
"Been a hard week huh?" I said handing her a much needed and very strong cup of coffee. Roger was in the corner playing peek-a-boo with Callie.
"Yes, John as been so upset. I hate seeing him like this, he has been using up all his energy with Callie too. So we have hardly spent any time together. I miss him"
"Well, go spend some time with him. Show him what he is missing. I have a dress you can borrow if you want" I smiled at her, almost devilishly
"A Evelyn Lily orginial?" She gasped jokingly "I hear those are hard to comeby nowadays"
"Not if you know the right people" I laughed back, leaving Roger playing with Callie and leading Holly in to our room. I rummaged through the wardrobe that was stuffed to the brim with bright clothes that belonged to both Roger and I. I finally found what I was looking for, a dark navy blue satin dress. It clung at the waist tightly, the rest rather flowing
"Oh wow Evie" Holly gasped "It's gorgeous" I handed her the dress
"It's all yours" I smiled "Now go, enjoy a night with John. Roger and I will take care of Callie" I said swallowing a little nervously. She smiled and thanked me again telling us she couldn't thank us enough over and over before leaving.
"Isn't she gorgeous Evie?" Roger said smiling down at the baby in his arms, she looked so tiny comapred to him. I smiled at the both of them, her small hands kept reaching out in a starfish attempting to grab strands of Rog's long golden hair. I picked up a nearby camera and snapped this adorable action between the two of them. Roger looked utterly in his element
"This may be the cutest thing Ive ever seen" I said smiling at Roger, he looked up at me through his now matted hair
"Hold her Evie, she is lovely" He said moving to hand me the tiny girl
"No no" I said putting my hands up defensively "It's fine honestly Rog, she is happy with you. I- don-"
"You are scared, Aren't you?" he said an almost shocked tone in his voice
"no"
"Yes you are"
"Im not. I just-"
"You are. I can tell by the way you start playing with your nails, you also bite your lip occasionally and your eyes go all big and doe like. I know when you are scared Evie, what's wrong?" he tilted his head slightly to the side, absent mindedly cradling Callie
"I-I-I'm just not great with kids that's all" I blushed a little "I just have never been in that situtaion"
"Well thats why I'm here babe" he sat down on the couch, still holding Callie close "Come sit" I gingerly made my way over to the couch and sat down right next to Roger
"I'm nervous Rog. I don't want to hurt her"
"Youll be fine. I promise, put your arms in a cradle just like mine" I mimicked his movements
"Okay. I'm going to put her in your arms now" He gently lifted Callie from his arms and in to mine. She made a few gentle murmurs. Roger quickly adjusted my hands so I was supporting her properly.
"Oh my god Rog. I'm doing it" I said in a whisper of almost disbelief. I smiled down at Callie, her eyeslashes batted back at me and she gave me a cute little crooked smile in return. Her hand reeached out in to a little star and wrapped itself around my pinky finger. Hardly managing to make it the entire way around. I couldn't help but grin down at her, she looked so precious. I heard a camera shutter snap and I looked up to see Roger smiling from ear to ear.
"I couldn't help myself, it was such a perfect moment" he said "You are going to make a great Mum Evie, I just know it"
"And you are going to make a fantastic father Meddows. I love you so much"
"I love you so much baby"

After babysitting for Holly I had been doing a lot of thinking about Roger and I in the near future. Were we in fact more ready to move on that I had perhaps thought, I knew Roger loved children and I knew he wanted children in the foreseeable future. I went back to sewing on the final piece of lace to Holly's dress. Today was her big day, she was frantically pacing around next to me. The rest of her bridal party in the other room getting tipsy.
"You okay Holls?" I asked looking up from my needle "Why don't you go have a drink with the other girls"
"I can't I'm too nervous" she paused "Not about John, no. He's the perfect man for me. It's about Freddie, I don't know if he's coming he never replied"
"Let me handle it" I said, trying to calm Holly "You go have a drink and enjoy your wedding" She looked slightly more relieved as she left the room. I left the finished dress hanging proudly on the door of the wardrobe and went over to the phone. I quickly punched in Fred's number, having it ingrained in to my brain. The phone rang a few times before a click of a reciver signified it being picked up
"Hello?" A thick Belfast accent sounded at the other end
"Oh, Paul" I said coldly "It's Evie"
"Oh please Evie. I'd know that voice anywhere" he replied, the fake cheeriness only pissing me off more
"Look, is Fred there? I need to talk to him, it's rather important" the same cold tone still painting my words
"He's actually really busy right now Evie. With the solo album he is just worked to the bone. So I don't think it's best he-"
"Give him the fucking phone Paul" I said my voice growing dark.
"You always were a feisty one Evie, weren't you?" I could almost feel his smug smirk down the receiver
"Just let me speak to Freddie. Please"
"No. Goodbye Evie." the line went dead.
paul fucking prenter

I could feel a tear in my eye as I witnessed one my best friends walking down the isle. She looked utterly stunning in her wedding dress. Roger and I both stood at the front of the church. I looked across at him and smiled he was looking right back at me a loving smile across his face. He and Brian both stood next to John, I have honestly never seen Deaky look happier.
"I love you" he whispered to her as she reached the altar. I watched her blush and my heart was filled with warmth. Roger handed them the rings and they began the vow exchange. They had written their own vows, each making one another laugh and cry.
"By the power vested in me. I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride"
John swooped Holly in to a loving kiss, earning whoops and cheers from the crowd at the wedding. I noticed all the bands equiptment set up behind us and I snuck over to Roger
"Are you guys preforming?"Â I whispered
"We were planning on it, but Fred didn't show" A sadness coated Roger's voice. An idea came to mind
"What if you still could preform?" I smiled back
"How do you suggest we do that without a singer?"
"I will sing" I smiled. Roger's eyes lit up at the prospect and he whispered it to Bri and Chris standing next to us
"Really Evie? Would you?" Brian said enthusiastically
"Of course" I responded a little nervously "Anything for John and Holly" Brian quickly grabbed John's arm and muttered a few words to him. Before I knew it everyone had grabbed their instruments and I had been planted before a large microphone in front of over one hundered wedding guests. My gut began to churn with nerves as I looked in to the looming crowd. Rog cleared his throat and spoke in to the microphone
"Hello everyone. Thank you all for coming and a huge congratulations to John and Holly" he paused "The band and I are going to preform for you now, along with the help of the beautiful, famous fashion designer and musical prodigy Evelyn Dove Lily" he smirked at me "When John proposed to Holly, he sang her this song. Now we have Evie singing I think it will be a little more enjoyable" he said earning a good laugh from the crowd. He tapped his drumsticks in order to signify the song starting. The boys came in perfectly on the harmonies with me as I felt my voice fill the large church
"
Ooh, you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It's you you're all I see
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live
Oh, you're the best friend that I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine and I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
Oh, you're my best friend"
All my worries seemed to melt away as I relaxed in to the music. We finished the song with a flourish and everyone at the wedding went absolutely crazy. I smiled as I looked out in to the crowd of people looking at us in admiration.
The rest of the wedding ran smoothly. John sure knew how to throw one hell of an after party, I could feel myself getting drunker as Roger kept handing me drink after drink. I think he secretly found it funny when I was drunk.
"Evie you look absolutley beautiful tonight" he whsipered in my ear
"Oh I know Meddows, stop drooling" I laughed, watching as he laughed at me
"Wow, I think I like this confident version of Evie"
"Do you like her enough to marry her?" I said before i even realised it, it just seemed to slip out "I didn't me-"
"How many times to I have to tell you I love you?" he simply replied
"I don't mean right now" I said quietly "I just meant in the future"
"I love you Evie. One day I would love for you to become Miss Meddows" I smiled, a soft dusty blush covering my cheeks. He could always make me melt.
hehehe I hope y'all like that chapter a little bit better than the last one. Although Freddie ;(
