Race To My Heart ☞︎ A Pietro Maximoff Fan FicWords: 9356

As everyone makes their way to the living room area, I climb downstairs. I see Pietro still lying on the floor. I crouch in front of him.

"Hi." I say, feeling shy for some reason. He smiles at me.

"I thought we got those pleasantries out of the way." He says as his accent makes me melt. I shrug, feeling flustered. I stand up and hold a hand out. He takes it, standing up quickly, keeping his hand in mine.

He brings them up to his lips and kisses them softly.

"I'm Pietro." He introduced.

"I know." I grin. He raises a brow, bringing me into his arms tenderly.

"Yes?" He questions.

"I know... quite a lot about you." I say with a sad undertone in my voice. He seems to know my referencing to his parents and Starks equipment and... everything. He nods.

"I see."

I can hear Thor's hammer sit against something and I feel it is something I don't want to miss. I smile contently up at him.

"We should meet the others up there." I suggest. He smirks, tightening his hold on my waist.

"Let's go."

The world moves slowly... but quickly, as Pietro runs with me holding onto him. I can't quite explain it but it's... amazing. We gracefully stop in front of Bruce and Wanda. Out of the corner of my eye I see Wanda give us a look, but my focus is on Bruce as he also gives us a look. I shrug with a small smile. I see Pietro slightly move his arm in front of his sister as he keeps his hold on me with the other. I smile slightly at how protective he is in general.

We all watch as the red thing gracefully floats down to stand next to Thor.

"I'm sorry. That was, odd," The red thing says as it looks at Thor simply. "Thank you." The red thing says, still looking at Thor as Thor's guard is still up. They stare at each other for a moment before the red thing looks off in the distance, a yellow cape magically appears off of the red things back, the cape connected to his dark gray suit of armor.

A laugh escapes me as I notice he wanted to copy Thor. Pietro smiles, amused as he puts a hand over my mouth and draws me into his chest. He quietly shushes me.

"Thor. You helped create this thing." Steve asks, sounding betrayed as the two continue to look at each other. Thor assessing him most likely.

"I've had a vision," Thor starts, looking out at us. "A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life, and at its center is that." Thor explains, pointing at what I can see is a yellow gem.

"What? The gem?" Bruce asks. Thor points at him for a second.

"It's the mid stone. It's one of the six infinity stones. The greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities." Thor continues to explain. I watch Caps brows furrow as Pietro takes his hand away from my mouth, moving it to rest on my hip.

"Then why would you bring-" Steve starts.

"Because Stark is right." Thor interrupts.

"Oh, it's defiantly the end times." Bruce says. I snort.

"If Tony's right for a change? Definitely." I agree.

"The avengers cannot defeat Ultron." Thor says a little more quietly.

"Not alone." The red thing says.

"Why does your vision sound like Jarvis?" Steve questions as the red thing starts walking forward.Hm. I'm gonna call the red thing vision. Its a lot more easier than red thing.

"We configured Jarvis's matrix, to create something new." Tony says as vision keeping walking forward, Tony does also. They pass each other.

"Excuse you. We?" I ask, as I'm the one who had to fix it when he messed up. Again.

"I think I've had my fill of new." Steve says as everyone ignores me. I look up at Pietro and notice even he's looking at vision weirdly.

"You think I'm a child on Ultron?" Vision asks.

"You're not?" Steve asks in disbelief. I subtly notice as vision shakes his head like, a centimeter.

"I'm not Ultron. I am not Jarvis. I am... I am." Vision says, looking at Tony and Bruce as Tony had finished walking over to him.

"I looked into your head and saw annihilation." Wanda said as she started walking up to him. Pietro and I slowly followed.

"Look again." Vision says open and freely.

"Her seal of approval means jack to me." Clint says as he shows up.

"Where have you even been?" I question to myself quietly. Wanda looks over at him for a moment.

"Their powers, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the mind stone. And they're nothing compared to what it can unleash," Thor says gravely. I notice Pietro tighten his hold on me. "But with it on our side..." Thor trails off.

"Is it?" Steve asks before turning to look at vision. "Are you?" He asks him. "On our side." Vision looks down. Thinking about it.

"I don't think it's that simple." Vision finally says.

"Well, it better get real simple real soon." Clint says.

"I am on the side of life," vision explains as he takes a step forward. "Ultron isn't. He will end it all." Vision explains. I step up, taking Pietro with me and I place a hand on Wanda's shoulder.

"I think what you saw was Ultrons plan for him. When he was going to be made of him. Now, that's he's made of Jarvis. I think its changed." Explain softly.

"What's he waiting for?" Tony asks, after everyone had processed my words.

"You," Vision says to Tony. Vision looks back at me, worried. "And you." Vision says. I curl back.

"Where?" Tony asks.

"Sokovia," Clint says. "He's got Nat there too." Clint adds. I perk up.

"Soon," Vision says. "I fear he has a plan to keep you occupied until he is ready." Vision says wearily. We all start surrounding Vision, Bruce full on walking up to him.

"If we're wrong about you. If you're the monster that Ultron made you to be..." Bruce trails off.

"What will you do?" Vision asks, genuinely curious. Bruce doesn't say anything. Because he can't. We don't know if we can beat him...

"I don't want to kill Ultron," vision says, walking around Bruce. "He's unique and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth. So, he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net. We have to act soon. And not one of us can do it without the other." Vision says as he walks around all us, stopping near Thor.

"Maybe I am a monster," he says, looking down at his hands. "I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are. And not what you intended. So, there may be no way to make you trust me. But soon, we'll need to go." Vision says, turning around to face us all, holding... Thor's... hammer!

We all look at them in shock. Thor especially. Thor slowly grabs the hammer and Vision walks off. I watch Thor excitingly.

"The golden trio!" I yell. "The only three people who can hold the hammer." I say proudly as I stand in between the twins, still at Pietro's side.

"Right." Thor says as he slaps a hand on his hammer before walking off. "Well done." Thor says to Tony. We all just stand there.

"We'll leave tomorrow." Steve orders. "No matter what Ultrons planning."

"We don't have that time!" Wanda argues, looking enraged. "We need to leave. Now!" She adds.

"What we need is to be well-rested. Most of us haven't slept in days," Steve explains. I look around and see just how exhausted everyone looks. "Casey actually passed out the other day," Steve points at me. "What do you thinks going to happen if that goes down on the field? You think Ultrons just going to put a blanket on us, give us a pillow? No! He's going to kill us. We aren't going to risk something like that." Steve shakes his head. He starts walking away.

"We leave. Tomorrow." He says as an exit.

We all just stand around. Unsure if we should follow orders or pressure him into going. He made one hell of a point... but Ultron has a plan and I would rather stop it, then sleep. Tony claps his hands, making me jump.

"Alright. Let's get to sleep everyone. We have a war in the morning!" Tony says cheerily. "I'll show this thing to his room. Casey, take the twins, wherever. Since you've suddenly become so close." Tony instructs as he scrunches up his face, showing how weird he thinks this is. He walks off, following vision.

"What about Nat?" Clint shouts to everyone who's left. I shrug.

"As much as I hate it, Clint. She's still going to be there tomorrow morning. Don't worry, we'll save her." I try and assure him before I walk off, hearing the twins follow me.

Soon, everyone else follows. Going to their rooms as I walk to two empty rooms, close to my own. I point to each side of the hallway as I turn to look at the twins.

"Here are two empty rooms. It doesn't really matter which ones you take. I'm just a few doors down if you need me." I smile at them. Wanda walks around me, storming into the room on my left. I look at the closed door in surprise.

"That's was..." I trail off, not really having the words. Pietro sighs, winding his arms around me.

"She's stressed. Sokovia is our home and it is under threat. Please understand." He asks. I nod, looking up at him.

"I do. I just don't want my team to die because they weren't able to give all their strength to killing Ultron once and for all." I say my point of view. He nods slowly.

"I understand." He says quietly as he bends down and kisses me on the forehead, his warm lips that make me feel breathless. He steps away from me and makes his way to the room on my right.

"Goodnight." I say lightly.

"Goodnight." He smiles at me from over his shoulder before he closes the door. I walk into my own room, feeling like I'm floating on a cloud.

What is this boy and what is he making me feel?
