I slowly and nervously got ready to sleep. Slipping on my most comfortable pajamas as if being comfortable would magically stop the nightmares. Slowly walking up to my bed, I gaze down at the covers, knowing that under them awaits a night of pain and torture.
I take a deep breath in. Then I take a deep breath out. Moving my hands up and down with the rise and fall of my chest.
"Ok. Ok, Case, you'll be fine! The guy you really like just spent the whole night acting like your boyfriend. That calls for good dreams. Now, as a normal teenager, you're meant to have fantasies to play out through your dreams. Casey O'Conner, you. Will. Not. Have. Nightmares." I demand my body to listen. Taking one more deep breath, I get into bed. Not realizing how quickly I would fall asleep.
*******
It's cold. Stone walls surround me as my gaze flickers around them. A Steele door sits in front of me. I continue to look around the room as best as I can as whoever put me here, didn't put any lights. The only source of light being the light pooling into the room through the small bared window on the door.
I look around, the feeling of squinting my eyes comes as I look around the room. What is this? What's happening? I'm suppose to be able to see in the dark!
I notice some rocks in the corner and an idea pops into my head. At that moment a searing pain spreads through my skull making my cry out in pain, loudly.
A bang resonates through the room.
"Quiet!" A gruff voice shouts, making me jump back in fright. I walk up quietly to the door, placing my hands on it before another idea pops into my head.
I grit my teeth together to stop from screaming through the pain. After it passes, I scramble over to the rocks, grabbing two small ones and scraping them together.
My mind calculates the right angle to get a flicker of sparks. I stop, bashing the rocks on the ground, whimpering as quietly as I can as a wave of pain flows through my body. I fight through it, clanging the rocks at the angle, creating the sparks when I realize... I have nothing to spark a fire on.
I groan, leaning my forehead on the ground as I rock back and forth.
"Wrong, wrong, wrong!" I spit out. I grip at my smock in anger. I sit back, figuring out a way to make a fire, too shocked to stop the groan of pain from ringing out of the room. Another bang came from outside the door.
"If you don't stop, I'll come in there and make you feel real pain!" The man screamed.
Tears leaked from my eyes as I closely watched the door. I slid the smock off and looked down at the wraps covering everything private before crumpling the smock and placing it on the floor.
Using that same angle, I create a spark, lighting my smock on fire. I smile lightly and move forward to feel the heat, rubbing my hands together to get warm sooner.
I looked up and watched the door. As it got colder, the door will grow weaker. Till it cracks. Then it'll break... Then I'll be free.
*******
I got forced forward, banging through the doors and crashing onto the ground as the double-doors swing in and out.
"Get in there!" The deep voiced man yells, being the one who pushed me.
My head snaps up, noticing the familiar chair and medical supplies. I squirm around and clasp onto his leg.
"Please, please. Don't make me do this again. I'll be good, I'll be good, I'll do better, I swear! I'll try harder, just don't make me do this!" I beg as I already start sobbing against his leg. The man grips my shoulder and tosses me against the ground.
I cry out, pavement burn running through the right side of my body. The man grabs at my left forearm and forces me to stand. He drags me over to the chair as I shake my head violently. Not wanting to go through the pain again. The man plops me on top of the chair and I quickly fix myself, hoping to get away.
I look around, trying to see a way out of here.
"It's not working doc." The man said.
"We'll have to double it." He responds. I whimper, trying to back away from them in the chair I'm stuck in. The doctor starts shushing me.
"No, no, hunny. Don't worry." The doctor assures though it doesn't work. What are they doing to me?! What's even happening?!
"What are you going to do with me?!" I scream in the doctors face.
The doctor doesn't respond but turns around to grab something. When he faces me again, he's holding a very large syringe with bright blue liquid in in.
"I''m going to make you... magnificent." He said calmly. I jerk my head side-to-side at a rapid pace.
"No, no, please. I can do it. I can do it without it-" my voice goes stained as the doctor ignores me, jabbing the syringe into my veins.
They instantly ignite. A scream instantly ripples through me as my body burning in a boiling rage of fury and anger
*******
A scream escapes me as I bolt up, back in my bed. I quickly flicker over to each corner of the room, reassuring myself that I'm back in a familiar and safe place. I rip the blanket off of my body as my body still feels like it's burning.
I groan, knowing I need ice or ice water or something cold. I tense up before swinging my legs over the side of my bed. I instantly hiss, quickly getting up in a standing position.
As the fire in me burns out, I slowly make my way to the kitchen. Still feeling as I need something cold in my body.
Walking into the lighted room, I quickly walk to the cupboard that holds the cups, taking one out to place four ice cubes into it before the water. I turn around, ready to feel that cool relief when I jump in shock, the glass falling from my hands.
I watch, wide-eyed, as the world slows down, watching Pietro race over the island before he swiftly grabs my glass. Everything returns at its normal speed but I am unable to move. Surprised that he was sitting quietly in the kitchen, surprised he didn't say anything, and most of all, surprised I didn't notice.
Pietro's eyes move across my face before a smirk makes its way onto his.
"Didn't see that coming?" He asks as he stands up, holding my glass out to me. I take it, swallowing a few gulps as I suddenly feel hot for a completely different reason. When I move the glass away from my lips, I remain quiet as I take a few breaths.
"I saw you run over." I point out. Not admitting to him or myself that I didn't know he was there. He merely chuckles, not bothering to point it out as we both make our way to sit on the island table.
We sit next to each other in a comfortable silence as I watch the ice cubes float around the glass.
"Why are you up so late?" I question him, looking over and into his ice blue eyes. He shrugs, not taking his eyes off of me.
"It is a new place. Not use to it yet," He says nonchalantly. I nod in understanding, not so long ago feeling the same feeling he was. "You?" He then asks. I inhale a shuddering breath.
"Nightmares." I try not to let my voice wobble, being the first to break our gaze. I try not to jump again as I feel Pietro place his warm hand on top of my own.
"Is there anything I can do?" He asks. I can hear the worry in his voice. I look back over to him.
"Distract me?" I propose.
A sly smirk makes its way across Pietro's face as his thumb starts massaging my hand.
"You are very blunt, no?" He smirks.
I instantly laugh out loud, using the hand under his own to smack him across the chest.
"That is not what I meant." I say, still laughing. As I calm down I wipe the tears that were beginning to form from my eyes. I look back into his eyes to see him smiling happily.
"I like your laugh." He comments. A warm feeling erupts all over my body and I let the smile tugging at my lips to form. I glance down before meeting his gaze again.
"What is this? Why are we feeling this, and so quickly without really knowing each other?" I question, heavily confused on how deep I can feel about this guy when I haven't even known him or about him for over a month. Pietro doesn't answer immediately. He quietly grasps both of my hands in his own, looking down at them.
"The only way I can make sense of it is simple," He says, meeting my eye. "suflete pereche," He explains with another shrug. "dragoste la prima vedere." He speaks deeply and meaningfully, looking into my eyes with a certain sparkle in them. I smile, feeling breathless.
"You think we're soulmates? That we magically experienced love at first sight?" I ask him, feeling like he was joking. Fate and love at first sight didn't compute in my brain. There had to be logic the way we instantly connected, the way we instantly felt. Pietro squeezes my hands.
"I don't think there's any other way to explain. I do not understand how I act around you. Why I do what I've done when it comes to you. But this... this makes sense to me." He speaks, sounding incredibly sincere.
I smile widely as we both slowly start to move in. Both nervous yet excited for possibly the most magical kiss either of us have experienced.
Our lips, a hairs-length away when glass breaking interrupts us. We jump away from each other in shock. The shock only grows as Ultron flies into the room, hovering above the ground in an impressive new body.
Alarms start blaring through every speaker and within minutes, every avenger filled the room with their weapons drawn and ready to fight.
"Oh how nice for everyone to come and greet me." Ultrons voice rings out in the room. Wanda rushes over to us, grabbing her brothers hand in worry.
"What do you want Tin man? A little oil?" Stark taunts. Ultron shakes his head, a tutting sound escaping his mouth.
"I heard you guys are planning on giving me a little visit. I'm not exactly ready for all that so I found a little helper to help keep you all busy." Ultron spoke maliciously as his red eyes fell onto to me.
Everyone's gaze moved onto me.
"What is he talking about?" Steve asked sternly. I only wish I could've taken the time to laugh at his 1940's style pajamas. But now was not the time! I shake my head fiercely.
"I have no idea!" I shout, panic spreading throughout my body like a mega virus.
"You see," Ultron teases. "Back in sokovia I found a few interesting files hidden in their database," Ultron lands on the ground, making everyone take a step forward with their weapons. Ultron ignores them as he walks up to face me. "Let's see if you remember this."
