Tony flies down though stays in the air, waiting for me to climb on. I jump off a tree and connect to his specific magnet areas. He shoots forward and I squeal, holding on as tight as I can.
"Clint's hit pretty bad, guys. We're gonna need evac." Natasha says through coms.
"If he had just let me help him!" I shout.
"I can get Barton to the jet. The sooner we're gone, the better. You, Casey, and stark secure the scepter." Thor says.
"Copy that." I hear Steve say.
"And for gosh sake," Tony starts, making me smirk. "Watch your language!" Tony and I finish together.
"That's not going away any time soon." Steve mutters. I shake my head.
"Nope. Probably not." I reply.
Tony and I soon reach the building and he smashes through a window. I hide my face against his armor. I hear gunshots ricochet off of Tony's suit.
"Watch the face, Jackass." I shout at him.
"Language!" Tony scolds. I hear a quiet,
"Oh my god." In the coms but I don't pay too much attention to that.
Tony continues to levitate there. Not moving.
"Guys, stop. We gotta talk this through." Tony says before quickly shooting all of them.
"It was a good talk." Tony says.
"Communication is key, Tony." I add.
"No, it wasn't." Some guy groans.
I jump off of Tony's back as he stops flying. We make our way into a lower room to see some guy typing really quickly on a computer. I smirk as we stand there watching him. When he finally notices us with a shocked expression on his face, Tony blasts it. He leaves his suit.
"Sentry mode." Tony orders as he uses his suit like a flashlight. We both walk over to the computers. I look over them, trying to make sense of them as Tony does his own thing.
"Okay, Jarvis, you know. I want it all. Make sure you copy Hill at HQ." Tony says as it starts downloading everything. I turn to him.
"That's a good idea, it will give me more time to make sense of this all." I say before quickly turning back to the computers. I feel a burning gaze on the side of my head. I look to see Tony staring at me.
"Did you just compliment me?" He asks. I blank my expression and quickly tap his joint, making is sore.
"Yes. Don't get use to it." I say as he holds his arm, as if that will get rid of the pain.
"We're locked down, down here." Natasha says. I sigh in relief.
"Then get to banner. Time for a lullaby." Steve orders.
"Make sure he's ok when he comes back." I ask her quietly.
"Can you stop this?" Tony asks, pausing from typing to hold his arm again. I roll my eyes and tap the arm.
"Stop being such a baby." I grumble.
Tony and I continue typing along the keyboards.
"I know your hiding more than files." Tony says aloud.
"No, really? This is Hydra, the same Hydra who worked from inside Shield. You don't think they're good at hiding things?" I laugh. When Tony doesn't respond with a snarky comeback I look back and find him walking away from the computers.
"Hey, J, give me an IR scan of the room, real quick." Stark says. A red light scans over me, making me scrunch my nose.
"The wall to your left. I'm reading steel reinforcement. And an air current." Jarvis says. I gasp.
"No way..." I say looking at Tony in wonder. Tony and I look at each other like little kids on Christmas. We walk over.
"Please be a secret door, please be a secret door, please be a secret door." Tony mutters. I put my hands in prayer.
"Please, please, please..." I whisper. We end up like chanting together. Tony places his hands on the wall and applies pressure. It immediately opens.
"Yay." We cheer quietly. We briskly walk through it and down the steps that lead to some dark, sewer like area with only a few lights to guide the way. We both suddenly hear from the com,
"We have a second enchantment. Female. Do not engage." Steve says. Tony and I don't reply as we keep walking down the hallway.
We finally read an area that leads into the room to see technology all over the place.
"Guys, I got Strucker." Steve says. Tony nods.
"Yeah, I got something bigger." Tony stammers as I follow his gaze to the big fish looking robot thing from the Chitari.
"That's great. Do you two boys want a gold star?" I ask. Neither of them reply. Tony and I walk over to some dismantled metal and other pieces in a different section of the room. I continue to look around when I see it. I smack Tony's arm and point over to what seems to be Loki's scepter.
We both instantly start walking over to it.
"Thor, I got eyes on the prize." Tony says. I squint my eyes.
"This looks really familiar." I say. Tony shrugs.
"Bet you saw it in a picture or something." He dismisses quickly. I instantly freeze. I want to look around in confusion but I literally, can't move. I try talking, but I can't move my mouth.
My eyes want to shoot open as I see a woman move her fingers around Tony's head, red magic flowing out of her fingers. I want to yell at Tony. She starts moving towards me when I hear that voice.
"Don't hurt her." His Sokovian accent rich. Her head snaps to look at him.
"And why not?" She asks. I can't see him, but I can see the anger on her face.
"She's done nothing. Do not harm her. Shield her from his sight and leave her frozen." He suggests. She glares at him and disappears but I keep my watch on Tony as his eyes turn read for a moment. He looks off to the side, or right at me in a way. I want to scream it to him.
"Casey? Casey, where did you go?" He asks, turning around and instantly stumbling backwards, needing to rest against the table his gaze moves up in the air and back over, past Loki's scepter and to the scraps of metal. He walks around the table and his body language shows terror as he's trembling and extremely tense.
I need to move. I need to shake him out of this! He just stands there. I have no idea what he's seeing or looking at and I can't ask because IM FROZEN!
He bends down, resting his hand on a table.
"Casey..?" He mutters in horror, trailing his hand across mid air. I want to yell out to him "I'm right here! I am fine and safe and frankly, bored and freaked the freak out" His eye catches something and he crawls over. Shortly after he jumps back a little bit.
The girls powers... they're similar to mine... What if they work like mine? This is all in my head! I can move any time I want! Suddenly I jerk forward, falling on my face. I groan and stand up, my limbs feeling like jelly.
My brain seems to now understand this girl and how she works. My brain knows it will not be tricked by her again.
Tony sits up a little and stares off into the wall a little more when he suddenly stands up. The woman from before doesn't move into my field of vision as I keep my eyes on Tony, but I can feel her presence. Tony shakes his head before turning around and looking at the fish thing again. He holds his hand out and i suddenly feel the boy from before back in the room.
Tony looks over at me, heading over.
"Casey, Casey, are you alright." He asks. I nod, not really comprehending anything right now. Which is very unusual. The girl seemed to have similar powers to my own... but she didn't need to put so much work into it. Or receive any pain. Lucky...
"We're just gonna let them take it?" I hear the boy whisper.
Tony walks forward as his Ironman hand connects to his hand. I take a few steps forward since neither of them are doing anything at the moment. Tony walks forward and quickly grabs the scepter.
While Tony's too busy dealing with staring at the glowing object, I look back to the two enhancements as Steve called them. I look upwards at the boy who wears a smirk on his face that mirrored the one the girl wore.
The boy quickly picks up the girl in the same way he picked me up and they're gone in a flash. My heart sinks a little at the thought they were together.
I know it shouldn't though! He. Works. For. Hydra. I can't go fraternizing with the enemy! Sure he's the hottest thing I've ever seen in my life- - but that shouldn't matter! What matters is morals. And he works for Hydra. It's suppose to be as simple as that... so why doesn't it feel that simple?
My brain could easily process a new type of magic and a multitude of ways to overcome it... But it can't understand that the cute boy is a bad boy? That makes no sense to me.
"Ready to go?" Tony asks, making me jump out of my thoughts. I look over at him and smile.
"Yup." I say trying to sound cheery.
We start walking out of the secret room and I eye the area the pair were seen in as we pass it.
