Chapter 6: Plane Rides and Good Times

Race To My Heart ☞︎ A Pietro Maximoff Fan FicWords: 7071

Tony and I are the last ones on the jet.

"I'm flying." Tony and I say at the same time. Tony gives me a look.

"Do you even know how to fly a jet?" Tony asks, thinking he could ever possibly outsmart me. I smirk.

"Yes. On the way over. I read the manual..." I prove myself. Tony's grin falls.

"Well. You're not old enough." He scoffs, pushing me out of the way before he plops down on the pilots chair.

He quickly starts up the jet and we get into the air, going at a speed that only the likes of Thor and Tony know.

I start making my way over to Clint where Thor, Steve, And now Natasha stand by him. He looks over at me, giving me a pained smile.

"You didn't need me, huh?" I smirk. He starts laughing but stops with a grimace.

"My mistake." He says, his voice strained. I chuckle with a shake of my head as I start tapping at certain points in his body as I start his rapid healing.

"How is he?" Natasha asks quietly. I ignore her question, concentrating on the exact points. When I finish, I look up and meet her eye.

"He'll be alright. It's only one injury. It's not like he got shot over and over." I laugh lightly. Natasha looks worried.

"Could you not heal that?" She asks. I shrug making my way over to her side of the platform Clint's on.

"I'm not sure. I've never had to... I know it would take a lot of power though." My eyes trail off to Bruce.

"How is he doing exactly?" I nod over to him as he listens to his usual opera music. Helps calm him.

"Wanna find out?" She asks.

We both walk over to him. I sit on his left as Natasha squats in front of him.

"Hey, the lullaby worked better than ever." Natasha says.

"Just wasn't expecting a code green." Bruce grumbles.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there." I apologize. He shakes his head as if it's no bother.

"If you hadn't been there, there would've been double the casualties. My best friend, would've been a treasured memory." Natasha smirks. I smile seeing how she can make him happy with the simplest things. I lean back and away from them a little.

"You know, sometimes exactly what I want to hear isn't exactly what I want to hear." Bruce admits.

"How long before you trust me?" Natasha asks. I bite my lip. They totally didn't notice I left and that just makes me want them to be together more...

"It's not you I don't trust." Bruce whispers. I squeal and walk away from them.

"What's going on?" Tony asks. I shrug, leaning against his seat.

"Just the usual dance Bruce and Natasha are playing with each other." I inform.

"It's annoying." He responds.

"It's cute!" I defend. Smacking him upside the head before walking away.

"Hey! Hasn't anyone ever told you not to hit someone who's flying a plane?!" Tony yells as I walk away. I laugh.

"If they did, I wouldn't remember it." I bite back as I walk over to Thor and Steve.

"Thor, report on the hulk." Natasha orders.

"The gates of hell are filled with the screams of his victims." Thor reports. Bruce sighs as Natasha's head snaps over to give him a look.

"Thor!" I scold, smacking his chest. But instead, I end up cradling my hand from the pain. Thor gives me a panicked look.

"But not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no, wounded screams. Mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and takes of speaines deltoids and gout." Thor trails off as I start pushing him away from Bruce.

"Stop. Stop it! You're making it worse." I scold.

"Hey, Banner, Case , Dr. Cho is on her way from Seoul. Is it okay if she sets up in your guys lab?" Tony asks.

"Fine with me." I say.

"Uh, yeah, she knows her way around." Bruce says.

"Thanks." Tony says. Tony then leaves his piloting station.

"What are you doing?!" I ask in alarm.

"Jarvis is fully capable to fly a jet." He says as he walks over to Steve, Thor, and I.

"So a robot can fly a jet but not a seventeen year old girl?" I ask. He nods.

"That is, correct. I did create Jarvis..."

We all gather looking down at Lokis scepter as I stand on the outskirts of the huddle.

"Feels good doesn't it," Tony asks. "I mean, you've been after this thing since shield collapsed. Not that I haven't enjoyed our little raiding parties, but..." Tony trails off.

"No, but this... this brings it to a close." Thor says.

"As soon as we find out what else this had been used for. I don't just mean weapons." Steve says.

"You mean the boy and girl?" I ask, the slight throb in my heart returns. Steve nods.

"Since when is Strucker capable of human encroachment?" Steve asks.

"Banner, Casey, and I will give it the once over before it goes back to Asgard. Is that cool with you?" Tony asks. Thor nods with his hands on his hips.

"Just a few days till the farewell party. You're staying, right?" Tony asks.

"You have to stay." I basically demand. Thor smiles for a moment.

"Yes, Yes, of course. A victory should be honored with revels." Thor says.

"Yeah, who doesn't love revels? Captain?" Tony says.

"Hopefully this puts an end to the Chitauri and Hydra. So, yes, revels." Steve smiles a little. The men start talking about whatever as I quietly slip away from them.

Natasha silently sits next to Bruce as he's back listening to his music. I hold a finger against my lips as I quietly make my way into the cockpit. I sit down in the pilots chair and it immediately moves forward near the controls.

"Miss. O'Conner, are you allowed in this area?" Jarvis asks. I scoff.

"Of course I am Jarvis, Mr. Stark trusts me completely." I assure him.

"Would you like to turn off auto pilot?" Jarvis asks. I smirk widely.

"Yes, Jarvis." I say. A hand print scanner flashes.

"Place your hand on the scanner." I shrug before doing so.

"You'r name?" Jarvis asks.

"Jarvis, you know my name. You literally just said it." I say with an annoyed tone in my voice.

"Your name?" Jarvis asks again.

"The smartest avenger?" I smile, trying not to laugh.

I jump back, taking my hand off of the scanner as an alarm goes off and red lights start flashing. Tony storms over to me.

"Whats going on?!" He asks, seeming pretty angry.

"Nothing." I say, trying my hardest to sound innocent. Tony sighs before moving over me and typing some things in them after everything goes back to normal. I stand up and smile sheepishly seeing all the other people on the jet looking at me in alarm. I feel Tony's presence close behind me.

"What exactly where you trying to do?" He asks. I laugh awkwardly before looking up at him.

"Trying to fly the jet." I admit almost immediately. Tony's face goes blank before he turns around and starts flying the jet himself. I pout, walking over and sitting down next to Bruce. I look over at him as I feel him staring at me.

"What?" I ask.

"Really..?"

"I want to fly a jet... Sue me!" I throw my hands in the air and spend the rest of the jet ride silent so I can give my full attention to glaring at Tony.

We soon arrive in New York and Tony safely lands the jet in the avengers tower.

"I could've done that." I grumble as we all start walking out.

"Of course you could have." Thor says, patting my back.

I watch carefully as people take Clint away to finish getting healed. I stay in the jet with Tony and Steve as a woman walks in.
