If we listened to others' opinions less,
Maybe our thoughts wouldn't be such a mess,
Maybe we would find ourselves,
The raw, unfiltered us,
The person who doesn't hide behind the mask of other people's expectations,
Maybe we wouldn't find ourselves in difficult situations,
Where we chose what people want us to be versus what we really want,
Maybe then we would have a clearer peace of mind,
Maybe then our choices wouldn't be made while we are blind,
Blinded by the words of others rather than our own choices,
I hope we stand up for what we want and raise our voices.
