Chapter 28
After breakfast, Natalie called Brianna. Although Brianna was still in bed when she answered the phone, news of Natalieâs return from abroad instantly jolted her awake.
âYouâre back?â she asked.
âYes, Iâll be at your place soon, replied Natalie.
âSounds good. Iâll request a morning off and wait for you to come over,â said Brianna.
âOkay.â Natalie hung up and left the house with Jeffrina, the mini pig, in her arms, taking nothing else.
She no longer desired the belongings she had left behind in the house. Natalie then departed wearing the same clothes she wore when she returned home yesterday.
Autumnhall Residence was in a wealthy district where it was nearly impossible to find a taxi.
Natalie walked a considerable distance to exit the residential area. However, due to its remote location; she waited for nearly half an hour without seeing a taxi.
Suddenly, a Rolls-Royce Phantom zoomed over and halted beside her with a whooshing sound. The car moved so swiftly that Natalie instinctively took a step back.
She was about to shout at the driver when she saw Calvinâs handsome yet cold side profile through the partially rolled-down car window. His eyes looked as piercing cold as those of an eagle
âGet in,â said Calvin in a commanding tone.
Natalie was about to decline when he spoke again. âNatalie, Iâm sure you know I have a short temper. Previously, I didnât vent my anger on those around you because I valued our ten-year relationship.â
âWhat are you doing?â
g?â asked Natalie as she clearly sensed the threat in his words.
Calvin glanced at the displeased woman. They had spent ten years together, and he wouldnât want to confine her in this manner if she hadnât pushed him to his limits.
Natalie eventually got into the car.
âWhere are we going?â she asked.
Calvin glanced at her, and his anger surged when he noticed the mini pig in her arms.
âTo the hospital!â he said.
Natalie had a good idea of his intentions when he mentioned the hospital. She knew then that things had remained the same after her three-month absence.
Apart from a delay in time, everything that occurred in her previous life still happened in her current one. Nothing changed. as time passed.
Looking at Calvin, Natalie asked the obvious, âWhy are we going there?â
He looked at her and said, âYvette has known that you bribed the kidnappersâ
âSo?â she countered.
âSheâs not asking for much, just a simple apology Itâs quite reasonable, remarked Calvin.
âHaha. Itâs true! Sheâs being absolutely reasonable thought Natalie. Amused, she fixed her gaze on the man before her. âDo

you think sheâs that forgiving?â
She then continued wondering, âDoes he not understand the significance of a pair of legs and eyes to a person? How can forgiveness be granted so readily in such a situation?â
Calvin glanced at her, and her attitude undoubtedly added to his disappointment.
âYou should consider yourself fortunate that she only wants you to apologize he remarked.
âThen, did she tell you what sheâll do if I refuse to apologizeâ Natalie looked at Calvin with amusement and wondered, âIs this man a pig? How can he be so thick? How did I even fall for him? Heâs even more stupid than Jeffrina!!
Turning his head to one side, Calvin kept quiet and said nothing
Natalie knew how firm Yvette was when she made this request. She also knew how convinced Yvette was that she would never apologize.
They arrived at the hospital, which was located in the bustling city center with people and vehicles bustling around.
After Natalie exited the car, she ignored Calvin and headed to leave the hospital. To Calvin, her attitude appeared as if she had no remorse whatsoever.
So, he rushed forward and grabbed Natalie.
He happened to grasp her right arm, causing Natalie to wince in pain, and she gazed into Calvinâs eyes with a hint of coldness that was different from the previous one.

Wrapping one hand around her slender waist, Calvin slightly softened his tone to coax her, âBe a good girl. This isnât the time to be willful.â
Natalie chuckled at the sound of that. âAre you worried that Iâll end up in jail because of this?â
As Natalie had anticipated, he hadnât handed the evidence to the police.
Threats aside, there was a ten-year history between them, and no matter how angry and upset Calvin was, he wouldnât go through with it.
However, he was faced with a dilemma now. Although Yvette hadnât explicitly stated her request, her attitude had indicated as much.
Natalieâs words made Calvinâs tone somewhat unsteady, with a hint of panic. âDonât worry. It wonât happen.â
As Calvin conceded, Natalie continued to press forward. âAs long as I apologize to her?â
Calvin tightened his arms that were around her waist, âYes.â
âPass her a message on my behalf. Inform her that she can do anything she wants!â said Natalie. With that, she struggled out
of Calvinâs embrace.
Calvin began looking at her with an icy look in his eyes. The patient and soothing tone he used to comfort her moments ago felt like an illusion
Natalie knew he was disappointed in her. But he had no right to feel so
Turning on her heel, she started heading toward the road. After taking a couple of steps, a thought struck her, and she spun around. Looking at Calvin with a derive expression as if he were a simpleton, she asked with a mocking smirk, âSalvatore was the one who found the evidence for you, right? Did you ever ask him how he got his hands on it Besides, how did Yvelle come to know of it?â
As if a thunderbolt hard hit him, Calvinâs heart tightened when he heard the last two questions

Chapter 28
When Natalie arrived at Briannaâs apartment, the latter was dressed in pajamas and had slightly disheveled hair. Before Natalie could speak, Brianna had embraced her warmly.

âI got up in a hurry and made breakfast after receiving your call. I havenât even had time to wash my face!â she exclaimed.
Natalie felt touched by her gesture.
She only had this one true friend in Quadfield. In fact, she was already thinking about moving over here the moment she was rebom
Back then, Natalie felt repulsed by every inch of Autumnhall Residence, as even the air felt heavily polluted.
However, she knew she couldnât do so. She was well aware of the intense cyberbullying she was about to face. Moving to Briannaâs place back then would only harm Brianna
Natalie intended to claim she had already eaten, but she refrained from saying so when she saw Briannaâs messy hair.
Instead, she said. Tm starving. Letâs eat
âYes! Letâs eat,â said Brianna as she rubbed Natalieâs soft hair.
Due to the height difference. Brianna appeared like the older sister when they stood together.
Breakfast was pasta prepared by Brianna. Natalie savored the familiar taste she hadnât experienced for a long time. She hadnât enjoyed such simple food since she had been with Calvin.
Many people believed that a man who wished to accommodate a woman would accompany her to the places she frequented and experience her life. However, Calvin had never done so.
On the contrary, he slowly integrated her into his world. Calvin had her eat expensive yet tasteless food and drink wines that she disliked but reflected their status.
The intense level of integration had almost made her forget her origins,
âHey, what are you thinking about?â asked Brianna.
âHuh? Did you just call for me?â asked Natalie, looking at Brianna. The latter was observing her worryingly while asking. Are you okay!â
âI-Iâm fine. Letâs head to the police station together after breakfast,â said Natalie.
âWhatâs wrong?â asked Brianna
âWell, itâs been three months!â explained Natalie. She had reported those cyberbullies to the police before leaving, and it was time for her to see the results.
Brianna nodded and started eating more quickly.
âWell, Iâm not in a hurry, said Natalie.
âYou ruight not be in a hurry, but I have to work this afternoon. So, hurry up!â urged Brianna as she finished her pasta in a few second.
Natalie followed her lead and quickly finished her meal in a few mouthfuls
After Brianna got ready, she accompanied Natalie to the police station at Lomamore
Unexpectedly, they ferrived a shocking result from the police We found those nalividuals, but My Calvin Jettors had Jailed them sut
