Chapter 42
It could be seen from so many scandals before that Yvette liked calvin. Therefore, it did not surprise one to hear such gracious words coming from Calvin
Although Rebecca did not like Yvette, she breathed a sigh of relief seeing the latter behave like that
âThen whyâs there such news flying around right now?â
âBecause Natalie keeps refusing to apologize. Cecilia answered in a low voice
That ticked Rebecca off
Things were fine without Natalie in the picture. Yet, the second she heard a mention of Natalie, she wanted to rip Natalie into pieces.
âTo think that she did such a vicious thing, she shouldâve even compensated Yvette her eyes. The cheek she has not to say sorry, not to mention not having an ounce of repentance! The more Rebecca funed, the angrier she became

Yvetteâs already said that, but she still didnât think of apologizing. What in the world is she up to?â she mused.
A sigh escaped Cecilia. It she keeps doing this, Yvetteâll probably hand over the evidence to the policeâ
âThis b astard!â Rebecca was agitated, to say the least.
Now that things had come to that, the Jeffords family had been humiliated. If Natalie was put in prison, the Jeffords family name would then be dragged through the mire.
The more Rebecca dwelled on it, the more infuriated she became.
Finally, she picked up the phone again and called Natalic, who answered the call that time around. âCome back right now,â Rebecca snapped angrily without waiting for a sound to come from the other end of the line.
No matter what, she bent on coercing Natalie to apologize to Yvette so that the mess could quiet down.
However, Natalie, who had always respected her elders, replied on the spot, âIâm busy!â
âYou? Busy? Ever since you married into the Jeffords family, none of us has ever asked you to get a job outside. Whatâs there for a stay-at-home young mistress like you to-
The line was cut abruptly as the call ended, which interrupted her speech.
At that moment, gone was Rebeccaâs poise as a noblewoman. In replacement of that was an overwhelming re
marring her visage. She was so mad that she flung the phone on the ground.
âSheâs become so lawless and rude!â No longer could she suppress the boiling rage within.
Cecilia watched the enraged Rebecca on the sidelines.
She then fanned the flames by uttering, âItâs all Calvinâs fault. Since he didnât want to divorce her, he shouldâve kept an ey on her. Everything wouldâve been fine if that woman apologized to Yvette.â
âShe must apologize!â was her thought.
Deep down, Cecilia knew that Natalie would never apologize to Yvette, but she only wished to leverage the matter at hand to destroy that wretchâs relationship with her brother.

Rebecca, in turn, decided to dialed Calvinâs number.
In the meantime, as soon as the whole meeting with Calvin ended, everyone present felt as though they were finally out of hell, feeling relieved.
The parade of people exited the room one after another.
Just like that, Calvin was left alone in the spa cious conference room. He picked up the phone and saw the treading headlines sitting in the news feed.
For a period of time, the Jeffords family had been the talk of the town in Quadfield. Even if all those public opinions had been suppressed, as long as there were any signs of activity, the suppressed public opinions would be dug out and thrown into the limelight again.
Even if there was no report, comments from netizens would still flood in. The topic itself would then turn into an exchange of views for the public.
At that juncture, many hot topics including the lady of the Jeffords family scheming and hurting others, refusing to apologize, and using power for extrajudicial executions, among others were being fed as trending topics.
âlan!â Calvin was furious.
lan was waiting outside at that time. Upon hearing Calvinâs summon, he immediately came in. âYes, Mr. Jeffords.â
lan did not look well either. Obviously, Calvin knew everything he should know.
Calvin questioned. âDid you see those?â
âYes!â
*Suppress them all. Immediately! To see such a paranoid article being published, anyone could tell what kind of person was behind that.
He also wanted those people to take a good look at what sort of power he had.
To think that someone would profit off of him by exposing his private matters, he would make the perpetrator pay.
âItâs been arranged!â Considering that lan had seen it coming, he had made the necessary arrangements the minute he read the news, long before Calvinâs meeting ended.
The phone vibrated. It was the landline number of the Jeffords manor.
Calvin pinched the space between his eyebrows, feeling a headache.
He suddenly thought of something, thus ordering, âSend the message out-no company in Quadfield shall hi Iâll take it theyâre going against us.â
âSo, she thinks she can sever ties with me this way? She thinks she can support herself, huh? Iâll see if sheâs given an at all,â he muttered to himself.
Jan was stunned for a moment.
âMr. Jeffords wants to blacklist even Mrs. Jeffords now? Oh, dear. Another scene is probably imminent!â he mused.
In Calvinâs opinion, Natalie seemed to have changed completely In the past, every time they had a conflict, as long as he ignored her and let her simmer down for a few days, she would definitely sweet-talk him into forgiving her.
Times were different, though.

It was probably due to the public opinion between him and Yvette that Natalie made an even bigger fuss, to the extent that she challenged his bottom line.
At that point, he could not care less about the other man she had abroad or her divorce. All he wanted was for her to know that without him, she would have no chance to even stand on her own two feet.
As for the things involving the so-called man she had abroad and whatnot, he figured that he would settle the score with her
later.
Getting Natalie home was his top priority.
The call coming from the Jeffords manor had not stopped ringing. Eventually, Calvin could not help answering the phone,
âWhatâs it?â
His tone was not amicable.
Rebecca, who had been waiting on the other end of the line, also got angry. âWhatâs wrong with you? Do you know what mess that woman has gotten the Jeffords family into?â
Calvin rubbed the space between his brows.
Not an answer came from him.
Receiving no response from the man, Rebeccaâkept roaring, âHurry up and get Natalie to apologize to Yvette. Why? If she has the guts to do it, she ought to have the gall to face it! You mustâve spoiled her!â
She paused for a fleeting moment before adding, âLook at what youâve done! To think that she even dared to do such a vicious thing! Sheâs no longer one of the Jeffords family!â
Iâll hang up if thereâs nothing else. Calvin had not the slightest interest in listening to complaints of that sort.
Rebecca thought that Calvin was speaking up for Natalie again, hence throwing an even worse tantrum. âYouâre still taking her side, arenât you?â
Iâm going to have a meeting!â
With that, Calvin hung up the phone.
He grabbed his own well-dressed hair, disheveling it in a mess.
His eyes which were clear and deep at first shone with naught but annoyance and gloom.
On Natalieâs side, things were just about to take a turn for the worse. In the past, if both Calvin and Rebecca forced her to apologize to Yvette, she would definitely have been driven into depression.
Not only that, but she would also get stuck in her sadness.
Even so, things were different then, for she had a lot of work to do.
She did not even have time to be amused by how those people were angered
On the way back, Queenie piped up, âWeâll be pretty busy for the next few daysâ
Mm.â
Natalie uodded. She was grateful that that was the case.
She reckoned that she could distract herself once she was busy. At that time, she was plunged into a nervous, pressured vibe,

and work was the only thing that could let her escape from all the depression
was why she was glad to have Xavier by her side.
Then again, she was not aware that she had been blacklisted by Calvin. She received a call, only to be told that she was mis longer required to do the design worki
Both parties had come to an agreement the day before, only to have the contract terminated the very next day. âYou havenât seen my design draft yet. Can you tell me why?â
