My sleep was long gone when i heard the sound of anklets jingling in my room when i looked at the person wearing them my breath got hitched
It was her
She looked breathtakingly gorgeous in a red saree , her hair reached till her waist which were adorned with a gajra her back was facing me and i couldn't help but admire how effortlessly beautiful she looked
she turned and i quickly shut my eyes and pretended to sleep
i could hear the sound of her anklets indicating she was coming towards me
"Sunein" she said in a low voice while tapping on my shoulder lightly
Her voice was melodious i could listen to it every day, every hour,every minute!
"Wake up Mr.Malhotra we are late dadi will scold us" She said softly but in commanding tone
oh how much i loved her calling me that
I opened my eyes and her flawlessly beautiful face came in my view
She had applied kajal in her honey brown eyes which made them more
captivating
I couldn't help and stared at her face taking in her gorgeous features
i came out of my dream land when she said
"Are you there?" while waving her hand in front of my face
"Yeah" i replied rubbing my eye
"Go get ready everyone must be waiting" she said fixing her saree
I obeyed her and quickly went to take a shower
MIHIKA
He went to take a shower and i quickly looked at myself in the mirror to complete the look i wore a minimal choker necklace along with earrings matching to it which complimented my red saree when i realised i haven't worn my Mangalsutra(nuptial chain)
i quickly wore the nuptial chain and filled the partition of my hair with vermilion and placed a small bindi on my forehead i did minimal makeup and fixed my hair one last time
Then i heard the sound of the bathroom's door unlocking and he came out
It took me a second to realise he came out JUST IN A TOWEL covered around his waist his well toned chest was on display water dripping from his wet hairs making him look hot!
He was wiping his hair with a towel without realising i was here
The realisation hit me HE WAS STANDING ALMOST NAKED IN FRONT OF ME it was late to do anything as he looked up at me and his eyes widened
And i quickly turned, now my back was facing him i face plamed myself and my cheeks turn red
i was cursing myself under my breath
"What are you doing here?" He said being startled
"I- nothing i am sorry i will just leave" i said and rushed out of the room while closing the door
i mentally hit myself
When i reached mid of the stairs i heard ruhi calling me i turned back and looked at her
"OMG! You look so beautiful bhabhi ved bhaiya toh gye kaam se" she said in a teasing tone
And suddenly i got flashbacks of what just happened in the room and my cheeks automatically turned pink
"Blushing blushing haan" krishiv said while hitting his shoulder to mine slightly
"I AM NOT" i said passing a glare at him
"And Ruhi why are you standing here for so long let's get down you should rest" i said being worried as She was 8 months pregnant and that's why she couldn't make it to our wedding
"chillax bhabhi ji i am totally fine" she chirped out nonchalantly
"what's chillax?" i asked her being confused
"Chill and relax together" she said like a kid
"Seriously" i said boringly cause duh?
"Okay now let's get downstairs first" i said taking her with me and settling her on the sofa almost everyone was there
i went to greet amrita aunty first and bent down to touch her feet
"Good morning aunty" i said out of Habit
"Morning beta and it's mom" she said with her adorable smile patting my head lightly
"Go to maa ji" she whispered to which i nodded my head and went to take dadi's blessing
i bent down to touch her feet and she muttered "Khush raho"(Be happy)
i guess she is still angry, then i met everyone with a small smile
"Aaj late ho gya hai koi baat nahi aage se nahi chalega esa" dadi ji said out of nowhere
(Today you are late no problem but don't continue this further)
i was already feeling nervous and then here she goes
i nodded my head silently
"it's fine she is not habitual of these things it will take her sometime to adjust" Dadu said while patting my head lovingly
"Toh aadat dalni hogi and ruhi is 8 months pregnant so she will not do any work in the kitchen from now on" Dadi said commandingly
"And mihika you have to handle all the cooking" She said casually
I WHAT? I mean yes i know how to cook but cooking for these many people how will i?
Why did i even get married at the first place:)
"Don't worry bacche i will help you" Mom said sweetly
i sighed a little thinking what i have gotten myself into:)

Now i was making chana masala and puri for everyone along with kheer because mom said I have to make something sweet on My first rasoi(when the bride cooks for the first time after marriage)
It took all of me because i was still not feeling good even after resting
everything was almost done then shweta chachi and mom helped me in placing the food on the dining table
when i heard footsteps approaching downstairs and then my eyes got stuck
He was looking Drop-dead handsome
wearing a navy blue shirt he left some buttons undone and rolled up his sleeves along with black pants and of course his branded shoes with a silver watch in his hand which completed his look
He came towards the dinning table and spoke out a small "good morning" and then he bent to touch dadu's feet and then mom's and all the elders but he ignored dadi? DADI?
He took his place at the dinning table and passed a small smile at dad and garv chachu on his left sat krishiv followed by ritvik and ruhi and then all the elders were seated
Then He looked at me and our eyes met for mere seconds but i turned away my gaze from him
i felt shy of his gaze
the incident kept repeating in my head
did i make him awkward? i said to myself
'Mom sit i will serve" i said taking her hand and making her sit on the chair
"No mihi i-" she said but got cut off by dad
"Sit and eat she is saying with so much love don't refuse" Dad said to her calmly with an assuring smile
why is that she was not comfortable sitting with everyone? but i brushed away the thought when i felt someone's heated gaze on me
it was dadi she was glaring at me i ignored her and moved to serve everyone
"Wow mihi bhabhi this is so good" ruhi said after taking a bite from the food
i smiled at her and released a breath my nervousness was gone after hearing her words
everyone liked the food and now it was time for dessert
when i served everyone the kheer , everyone was devouring the food but suddenly someone shrieked
