Nathan's POV
After a month of going missing, my mate was finally in my arms again and if I could help it, he was going to be there until our pups are born. The news had excited me and I could already imagine his belly swollen with our pups. I was brought out of my thoughts by the smell of a new person. I looked up and noticed a young man, about the age of me, walking in beside Lachlan. He looked too skinny and I wondered how did someone like that could end up with the rouges of The Snake Bite.
"So you are the one who helped my mate escaped?" I asked the man and he nodded. "Well since Amber is here, why don't we all have a discussion about The Snake Bite." Lachlan said, his accent thick. We all nodded in agreement, deciding silently that it was a dreaded thing to talk about.
"So lets start. Amber why were ye with The Snake Bite?" Lachlan turned and asked Amber. "With Snake Bite because they have my mate." he said in almost understandable English. "Who's your mate?" Will asked Amber in a kind and sympathetic voice. "Mate was Gus Bourbon, last leader of leader of Snake Bite." he told us and as soon as he said Gus Bourbon, there was a silence that fell upon the room.
"Wait your mate is the Gus Bourbon, the person who could basically conquer any pack he wanted." Lachlan said trying to wrap his head around the fact that one of the most feared pack leaders was the mate to Amber. Amber nodded not seeming fazed by the news that he just shared. "So wait how is the most feared pack leader in basically all of the world, get captured?" Lachlan asked. Amber shook his head, apparently not wanting to share this bit of information.
Lachlan kept asking and it was noticeable that Amber was becoming uncomfortable by the constant questioning. "Come on ye can tell us. It not like "we" don't believe you." Lachlan kept taunting and poking Amber. "Lachlan, stop bothering him. If Amber doesn't want to tell us then he doesn't have to tell us." my mate calmly told Lachlan, causing Lachlan to glare at my mate. "Lachlan I suggest that if you want an alliance with me, then you show my mate respect." I growled lowly at him.
"Fine but I'm going to get my answers from you." He said glaring at Amber. The discussion went on and we decided to use Amber as bait, much to Will's disagreement. It had been a long night but me, Will, and Amber decided to head back home, to my pack. Lachlan had disagreed with me taking Amber but me and Will both knew that Lachlan would harass Amber until he either ran away or talked.
