Her claws digging into the earth, Bai Xia Xia finally steadied herself from the momentum of rolling away. She shook her head, the white cat that was covered in dirt had already completely turned into a gray cat. Bai Xia Xia had accidentally encountered Monkey Mother looking for food with a small monkey that had a broken tail and had seen them being stoned and being bullied in all sorts of ways by the troop.

Not only that, she then saw how the wild fruits that they had arduously picked were stolen by the monkey troop too, the small monkey’s fur was bald, and it was on the brink of death from starving.

Bai Xia Xia wanted to help, and at that time she was coincidentally worried about being contaminated with dirty things, so to get the best of both worlds[4], she extended out the loving paw of Cat.

Then, Monkey Mother deduced many things from one case[5], one gold carried six bronze[6], and lead the whole family to a well-off life.

Crossing through the jungle, Da Hua’s fluffy meat paws silently landed on the ground, when he passed through the jungle, only the rustling of finely crushed leaves was heard.

Even though Bai Xia Xia had become a cat, what she had worked super hard to imitate was not a true cat. The hunting instincts and habits of cats, she had none of them.

Just like what had Qin Xiao said, even grinding claws was something that she rarely did.

The climate below the mountain was still hot, but inside the mountain cool breeze blew, Bai Xia Xia was blown until she was very comfortable.

The cool feeling that came after the wind blew up the fur, compared to when blown as a human, was completely different.

The Persian cat tightly attached itself to Da Hua, it could feel the undulating motion of Da Hua’s back when he moved, there was a bit of jolting, but overall, it was steady. [2] So here, the use of the word ‘dragon’ is probably to express that they’ll get the best thing, as a way of exaggeration since dragons don’t exist. Or at least that’s what I think.

[3] For those who don’t know, a group of monkeys is called a troop, and it’s comprised of several hundreds of them.

[4] Idiomatic expression ‘两全其美 (liǎng quán qí měi)’: lit. translation: ‘two completes make a beautiful’. It means ‘doing something that gets benefits for both sides’.

[5] Idiomatic expression ‘举一反三 (jǔ yī fǎn sān)’: lit. translation: ‘raising one and inferring three’. It means ‘deducing many things from one case’.

[6] You guys have no idea how hard it was for me to get this reference since I don’t play games LOL.

First, Monkey Mother is the ‘one gold’, and the rest of the family is the ‘six bronze’, so the whole family of stray monkeys sums up to a total of seven.

Second, the ‘gold’ and ‘bronze’ refer to the game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Apparently, there’s a ranking system which features the ranks Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Champions, with the Copper rank being the lowest and Champions the highest. So, the author meant to say that Monkey Mother carried the other monkeys in the family.

For all I know, it may have been a reference to another game, such as League of Legends or anyone with a ranking system that includes Bronze and Gold, but I stuck with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege since the article that cleared up things for me was categorized under that game.
