Chapter 14
100 thousand dollars.â Dorian bargained with a displeased expression.
Gisele paused as she was about to leave. Reaching swiftly for her phone, she displayed Angie and ber joint business account information to him. âTransfer it here. Thank you.â
Dorianâs surprise turned to annoyance as he saw Giseleâs diligent smile. He couldnât explain whee it bothered him so much.
It was no wonder she could leave her home so effortlessly. After all, the money she swindled each year surpassed the average personâs salary.
Upon successful transfer, Giseleâs previously stern visage blossomed into a smile, her voice. soft and soothing. âJust a moment, please.â
âWhat trick are you playing now?â Dorian grumbled, visibly annoyed.
Gisele retreated to the doorway and leaned against the wall.
She produced thin needles and strategically placed them at KI 3, KI 4, and SP 6 acupuncture points on her swollen ankle with practiced ease, aiming to ease the pain.
After ensuring the pain had subsided, she made her way back into the room.
âDon, Iâll need to apply ice after the massage. Could you fetch an ice pack for me? Thanks.â Sierraâs request was casual, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Dorian had intended to give Gisele an order, but he saw her preparing to give Sierra a professional massage in a practiced manner.
He nodded in agreement. âSure, Iâll be back shortly.â
His tone carried a hint of warning, implying Gisele should behave and not consider harming
Sierra
Gisele managed a wry smile. Had he always seem her as an unreasonable woman?
Sierra reclined comfortably on the bed, her soft voice laced with a contrived laugh. âThank
you, Ms. Meyer.
âNo worries. I might not perform my best since I was quite worn out earlier, but Iâll do my best. Please bear with me, Ms. McMillan,â Gisele replied, her smile tinged with shyness.
She positioned herself at the bedside, gently holding Sierraâs foot.
A momentary shock flashed across Sierraâs face. She instinctively yanked her foot back, but

Ciiseloâs grip remained firm.
Suddenly, a crack echoed through the room.

Sierraâs face paled with pain, and her eyes brimmed with tears as she looked up at Gisele.
âOh, Ms. McMillan, why are you so worked up? Itâs quite normal for something intimate to happen between a husband and wife after three years of marriage, isnât it?
ât tell me you and your boyfriend donât have any physical needs?â Gisele suppressed
her heartache and forced a brilliant smile.
She then retracted her hand and wiped it with a disinfectant wipe.
Sierra clenched the bedsheets tighter. The thought of Gisele lying there before her made her
skin crawl.
After cleaning her hands, Gisele stood up and suggested, âPerhaps itâs best to apply cold. pressure to your foot for now. A massage might worsen it, and we wouldnât want your to lose its perfection.â
âYour concern is appreciated, Ms. Meyer. Since my boyfriend and I are not married, we naturally stay within our limits. Howeverâ¦â

A confident smirk played on Sierraâs l*ps as her voice trailed off. âThanks to Donâs generous sponsorship, Iâll be appearing on the Murray familyâs new medical show. My expertise, coupled with his faith in me, guarantees a hit.
âThe buzz is already building, even before it had aired. I wonder if theyâre more interested in seeing my medical skills or watching Don and me shower each other with affection.
Her smile showed her dimples, which should have appeared sweet. Yet, it bore a hint of smugness due to her triumph.
Gisele tossed the used wipe in the bin, a sharp pang shooting through her heart. Dorianâs efforts to promote Sierra came at the cost of more than just sacrificing her.
âGisele, Iâm sure youâre understanding and wonât do anything to hurt Jefferson Groupâs stock price again, right?â Sierra raised her head gently to look at Gisele standing in the doorway.
Even if her boyfriend was Giseleâs husband, what of it?
The one who was not loved was always redundant.
Gisele was the redundant one.
Pausing at the door, Gisele turned and looked at Sierra.

Her silhouette was outlined against the light, and her tone was mocking. âOh, sure. Iâll certainly be very understanding. If I appear on the show and make a splash, wonât that boost Jefferson Groupâs stock price?â
Sierra clenched the sheets, her face impassive yet mocking.
âYouâre welcome to try, but the show has its standards. You might not qualify. However, I could ask Mr. Murray to arrange a screen test for you to fulfill wish.â

âIs that so? But your words hardly matter, do they? As the esteemed Mrs. Jefferson, how could I possibly seek the spotlight?
âBesides, even if your words held any weight, my husband would surely object.â Gisele feigned distress, her words laden with veiled sadness.
âWhat would I object to?â Dorian entered with an ice pack in hand.
Sierra stood up and hopped over, wanting to go over to Dorian, but Dorian got there first and walked over to her side.
He gently and slowly wrapped his arms around her soft waist and said, âWhy are you moving around so much?â
âGisele said sheâs very envious that I can go on the show to display my medical skills, and she would love to go too. I encouraged her to take that brave step, but she said you wouldnât be happy about it.â Sierraâs voice was sweet and melodious, like the sound of a bird chirping.
Dorianâs stern and disgusted gaze fell upon Gisele. How dare she instigate Sierra to stand up for her?
Standing quietly by the door, Gisele looked as if she belonged nowhere, prompting Dorianâs disdain to subside.
Sierra leaned against his strong arm and held his hand coquettishly. âDon, give Gisele a chance, alright?â
âArenât you going to thank Sierra?â Dorian indirectly prompted Gisele with his chin.
Gisele hesitated, seemingly disbelieving their words.
What Dorian despised the most was Giseleâs distrustful demeanor. He then took out his phone and dialed Bernardâs number for a video call.
âHey, Doge. You didnât change your mind, did you?â Bernard teased.
Dorian spoke with a stern face, enunciating each word firmly. âHave Gigi Toby Fluff be the special guest. Send me the contract.â

âWhat?â Bernard was so shocked that his m*uth foll open.
When Dorianâs camera shifted, showing Cisole standing against the light at the door, Bernard was dumbfounded.
Had Gisele actually managed to persuade Dorian with her body?
Although he also wanted to call Gisele to sign the contract, he hadnât expected the opportunity to come so unexpectedly!
âMr. Murray, is it inconvenient?â Gisele asked gontly, probing.
Startled, Bernard hurriedly composed himself and sald excitedly, âOf course not! Iâll send the contract via email now. Please sign first, Gigl.â
Gisele walked over and took Dorianâs phone. Their fingers accidentally touched, and her cool fingertips made Dorian frown.
Was she wearing so little because she wanted to catch a cold and make him care about her?
What a schemer!
Gisele signed her name on the contract without even loolding at it, as if afraid they would change their minds if she was late.
Sierra, who had been anticipating a spectacle, was taken aback. Gisele had rapidly signed the contract in under a minute; it seemed like a deliberate taunt aimed at Sierra!
After signing, Gisele passed the phone back to Dorian calmly. âMr. Jefferson, your signature, please.â
Dorian took the phone and glanced at it. It was the spot for the spouseâs signature. Without giving it much thought, he signed his name.
Bernard had done this to prevent Dorian from changing his mind again and to ensure that Gisele would be able to participate in the show.
âAlright, the contractâs all set. Letâs meet at the nursing home next Monday to shoot the
promo.
âDon, donât forget to bring your wife along. Sheâs my idol!â Bernard cheerfully urged, oblivious to Sierraâs presence there.
The thought of working alongside his idol thrilled Bernard beyond words.
Sierra shot Gisele a cold glare. Then, she took Dorianâs hand and said coquettishly, âDon, my feet hurt so much. Can you ask Gisele to keep massaging them for me?â
