Chapter 572 Debauchery
Jean had to attend to some matters at the office today, so he didnât work from home.
He kept himself busy all morning. He started to feel sick in the afternoon. After taking care of the pressing. matters, he left for home.
lan was worried about him.
By evening, he went to the neighboring house and looked for Neera because he couldnât contain his worry.
âMr. Assistant, what brings you here?â asked the triplets.
Auntie Zuniga had just brought them home from school.
lan replied hesitantly, âMr. Beauvort felt a little under the weather. Heâs currently resting, but itâs nothing serious. I swing by to check if Ms. Garcia is home.â
Harvey shook his head. He asked worriedly, âMommy has some matters to attend to at work. Sheâll come home late. Is Uncle Jean alright?â
âShould we call Mommy for you?â Sammy asked agitatedly.
In response to the offer, lan said, âPlease do.â
All three kids made an effort to get in touch with Neera, but none of them got a response.
lan was left with no option but to leave a message. He urged, âPlease ask Ms. Garcia to come over when she returns.â
The triplets nodded.
Penny felt ill with worry. She couldnât help but ask, âCan we see Uncle Jean?â
Harvey stopped her before lan could respond.
âPenny, he should get some rest. Weâll disturb him. Wait until he feels better, please.â
Penny sulked and mumbled, âAlrightâ¦â
When lan came back, he noticed that Jean was going down the stairs.
â
âSir, if you need anything, just call for Mr. Richard or a se rvant,â he hurried up to him and said. âYou donât need to come down yourself.â
Looking at him, Jean scoffed, âI hurt my back, not my legs.â
Then he asked casually, âDid you just go out?â
âYes, I went to see if Ms. Garcia was home,â lan said in response.
âIs she?â Jean asked after a brief pause.
âNo, she had something to do,â lan shook his head. âShe would arrive late at home. Please rest for now and bear with the pain.â
Jean creased his brows a little and responded, âIâm fine.â
He took some painkillers out of the medicine cabinet, consumed them, and then returned to his room.
Jean did not sleep as he lay in bed with his eyes closed. Instead, he patiently awaited Neeraâs arrival.
He expected to see her, but she never appeared.
Instead, it was around 8:00 p.m. when Wrenn and Kyra both arrived.
When Jean turned to face the two that occupied the sofa, he seemed uninterested.
Wrenn was dissatisfied with the attitude of her son.
She scolded, âKyra took some time out of her hectic schedule to visit you. Whatâs with the long face?â
Jean was about to respond when Kyra cut in to smooth things over. She grinned and said, âI donât mind; itâs okay.â
She pretended to be kind as she turned to face Jean.
Her eyes were filled with worry as she asked, âJean, howâs your injury? Does it still hurt? Have you given the medication I sent you a try?â
Jean remained distant and cold. He was unwell, and being around Kyra only made his mood worsen.
When Kyra got no response, she lost her composure.
âJean, you seem upset,â she purposefully inquired as she lost her cool. âDid something happen between you and Ms. Garcia?â
Jean raised his eyes, but he didnât take the bait. He replied neutrally, âNo, weâre fine.â
Kyra continued playing the part.
She asked, âReally? I thoughtâ¦Maybe there is a fight between you two. I also think there is a misunderstanding. How could Ms. Garcia be with another man?â
With a deliberate pause, she pretended to have a slip of the tongue.
Wrenn caught on, and she asked, âWith another man? Kyra, did you keep something from me?â
Immediately making assumptions, she questioned, âTell me, did she do something again?â
Kyra had accomplished her goal. She pretended to be hesitant about revealing it.
âRecently, Iâve been recording a show. Iâve been residing with the crew at the hotel. My assistant saw Ms. Garcia there. She seemed to be with a man, and
She paused, as if she were finding it difficult to say. She said in a low voice, âShe went into his room.â
When she heard this, Wrennâs face turned gloomier. She questioned, âIs this true?â
Jean glared angrily at Kyra, and his gaze instantly turned piercing.
The look in Kyraâs eyes flickered. She let out a helpless sigh.
âWell, I shouldnât jump to conclusions. I may have misread the situation. Iâm not sure if Jean is acquainted with that person. Maybe Iâm being overly paranoid.â
She chose her words carefully, leaving no room for error.
When she saw that picture, Wrenn erupted.
âLook at this! This is the woman youâre so keen on protecting! Donât tell me you know this man!â
She threw the phone at Jean and said, âI thought she would have changed for the better when she married into our family. Look at her! Sheâs still acting so flirtatious!â
Despite spending a considerable amount of time staring at the photograph, Jean maintained his composure.
He was not angry.
Instead, he grabbed his phone and deleted the picture.
Kyra was perplexed. She was astounded by his response. âJean, youâ¦â she muttered.
âA picture doesnât prove anything,â Jean said stoically.
He threw the phone back and said, âNeera isnât that kind of person.â
Wrenn was furious when she heard this, and her head was going to explode.
âThings have reached this point, but you are still standing up for her! Why would she meet with another man if she is really loyal to you? Go to a hotel with him? Youâve lost your mind! This cannot continue!
You two ought to get a divorce immediately.â
She turned around and glared at lan after she was done.
âWhat are you waiting for? Call her and tell her to come over immediately!â
