Chapter 718 A Price To Pay
Ian had been preoccupied with Jeanâs critical illness and company affairs. He couldnât leave and personally tracked down Thora,
When he found out Thora had treated Gerald, he immediately sent someone to find her. However, she appeared to have foreseen trouble and went into hiding. They were unable to locate her.
Ian, frustrated, sent out more people to look for her.
Meanwhile, he tried to come up with other ways to approach the situation.
After some thought, he approached Frederic and Wrenn for assistance.
âMr. Frederic, Thora was introduced to Mr. Peter by Mr. Clarence,â Ian reported.
âI doubt sheâd disappear for no apparent reason. Thora doesnât know many people in Kingsview, so I suspect her disappearance has something to do with Mr. Clarence.â
After Ian informed him of the situation, Frederic wore a solemn expression. He couldnât let this slide. He needed to deal with this, despite the fact that it involved his own brother.
Decisively, he commanded Ian, âStay here and keep me updated. If anything happens, give me a
call.â
Subsequently, he turned around and left.
Wrenn quickly called out to him, âWhere are you going?â
âTo find Clarence!â He replied sternly without pausing his stride.
âIâm coming with you.â
She couldnât sit still when she thought about the kind of agony Jean had to go through and
Clarenceâs involvement in the incident.
The two rushed to Clarenceâs house and demanded answers from him.
âWhereâs Thora? Where is she now?â
Clarence was still indignant after they kicked him out of the board of directors. He was upset as he retorted, âWhy would you come to me and ask me this?â
Exasperated, Wrenn chided, âSheâs gone! If we donât come to you, who should we go to?â
âSheâs gone?â Clarence was stunned. He asked, âWhat do you mean?
Wrenn tightened her teeth in rage.
She scolded, âGed is critically ill because of her. She almost killed Jed too. That woman has gone
missing now. Youâre the one who introduced her, so weâre here to demand answers!â
This revelation astounded Clarence.
He was mad at Thora when he learned about her incompetence, but he hadnât expected this quack to cause such harm. The progress of the situation had far exceeded his expectations.
He spotted Fredericâs stern expression and felt a pang of fear. If something happened to Jean, he was certain that his brother would kick him out of Beauvort Group permanently.
When this realization struck him, he quickly confessed to everything.
ââ¦Thatâs the whole story. She had treated me once, and I was impressed with her skills. I only met
her a few times. I tried to contact her yesterday, but she never picked up the call.â
Noting his sincerity, Fredericâs expression became grimmer.
âThis is great! Our entire family is being played by Thora!â
In a panic, Clarence quickly came up with something. He exclaimed, âI remember something! Kyra
came by to see me when I was sick. She was the one who mentioned that my symptoms were similar to Jeanâs. She is the one who contacted Thora. Maybe you should ask Kyra; she might know
where Thora is.â
Wrenn was surprised that Kyra was involved in this, which made her even more worried.

Back in the research center, after Neera readily prepared the medicine, she also asked Ian about Thoraâs whereabouts.
Back in the research center, after Neera readily prepared the medicine, she also asked Ian about
Thoraâs whereabouts.
Apologetically, he bowed his head a little.
âIâm sorry, we havenât found her, but we discovered that she is a close friend of Alistair Gray. Iâve sent someone to keep an eye on him and deployed more men to track her down. I hope you can be patient.â
Neeraâs gaze turned cold. She deduced, âShe should have sensed something went wrong and things would be bad for her. Therefore, she ran away before the consequences caught up with her.â
Did she believe she could get away? She made a mistake and now must pay the price for it. Iâd
tolerated a lot from her in the past, but she wasnât having it this time.
Osbert spat in disgust and chided, âWhat a scourge! We should have sent her away from the start.
How could she have done such heinous things? Sheâs inhumane!â
Luigi was astounded that Thora could cause so much trouble.
âWhat is she thinking? She is well-versed in all aspects of medical treatment. If only she had spent
some time studying the patientâs condition and treating them properly. Even if the treatment did
not completely heal them, the patients wouldnât end up in such a state.
âOut of so many options, she has to pick sinister methods and disregard their physical tolerance!
Sheâs killing them.â
The gloom in Neeraâs eyes deepened as she said, âSomeone like her does not qualify to be a doctor;
she is not even qualified to be a human.â
âYou two help me monitor the situation here,â she reasoned coldly. âI must to call Mr. Hanson.â
This incident had crossed her limit. She would not cover for Thora, and she believed her master
deserved to know the truth.
