Chapter 914 My Gift For You After giving some instructions to the medical team, Neera didnât linger any longer. She planned to return to Galeâs residence.
As soon as she stepped out, she spotted Jean casually leaning against a car.
Clearly, he had been waiting for her.
âWhy did you come over?â she exclaimed with pleasant surprise, jogging toward him, her eyes bright with curiosity.
Jean raised his hand, playfully tapping her nose, and replied, âEmbarrassed to ask me? As soon as I came out, I found my fiancée had run off, so of course, I had to chase after her.â
Neera stuck out her tongue, saying, âSorry, I thought you guys were discussing official matters, so I didnât want to disturb you.â
Jean didnât blame her but couldnât help feeling a bit jealous deep down.
His fiancée had run off without a word to be with another man.
Though he understood it was due to the patientâs condition, a hint of jealousy lingered.
As they chatted, Jean casually glanced at the nearby residence and asked, âIs it serious?â
Neera nodded, âThe situation doesnât look optimistic. We canât cure him in the short term, but Iâve managed to temporarily alleviate his condition.â
During their conversation, they got into the car.
Neera changed the topic. âHave you finished your discussion with Prince Gale and Sir William?â
Jean replied, âYes, weâre done.â
He nodded and, almost absentmindedly, took her hand in his, idly toying with it.
Curiosity got the better of Neera as she leaned against him and couldnât resist asking, âCan you tell me how you met Prince Gale and Sir William, and how they have such a good attitude toward you? If someone didnât know, they might think you grew up together!â
Jean chuckled, not planning to keep any secrets.
âWe didnât grow up together, but weâve known each other for many years. It all started with a chance encounter when I saved both of their lives. At the time, the royal family here was ih turmoil, and Gale was the prime candidate to become the prince. Someone wanted to eliminate him. He was always cautious, but there are times when you canât be too, careful. He was attacked once and almost lost his life, but I happened to save him. After that, we had business dealings, and over time, we became quite close.â
Neera mused, âSo, itâs a bond formed during a life-and-death situation.â
Even though he didnât go into detail, Neera could imagine that anyone who could catch Gale off guard had to be formidable.
It occurred to Neera that when Jean saved them, he must have faced significant danger.
âMy fiancé is quite impressive!â She chuckled playfully, adding, âI better hold onto your coattails soon.
Jean lowered his gaze and looked at her, a hint of amusement in his raised eyebrows.
He leaned closer and whispered in her ear, âNo need to wait for the future; you can hold onto them now.â
Neeraâs ears felt like they were burning as a blush crept onto her cheeks. She quickly changed the topic, saying, âYou have a slight scent of alcohol on youâ¦â
Jean chuckled softly, âI just had a small glass, and it was with your permission, too. Is it too strong?â
Neera shook her head. âNot at all, just a subtle hint of it.â
âReally? Why donât you have a taste of it?â
His voice oozed temptation, incredibly seductive.
With that, he leaned in for a kiss.
In the front seat, Storm, who had been forced to witness this display of affection, remained remarkably composed, not even raising an eyebrow as he moved up the partition.
In the back seat, the two of them kissed without restraint, their passion igniting.
Neera seemed entranced by him, yielding to his advances willingly.
The faint scent of alcohol soon spread between them, sweetening their moment.
A moment later, they reluctantly parted, their breaths heavy, taking a moment to regain their composure.
Jean held her, his voice husky. âDo you want to go home?â
Neera nuzzled against him, like a cat, soft and gentle. âNo, not yet. I need to make a stop at the research center first. I have to treat Ged, and then prepare a medicine.â
She paused and explained Averyâs situation.
âI have to use this medicine to lure out the mother wug; otherwise, Avery wonât recover.â
Listening to her, Jean couldnât help but feel a tinge of jealousy.
He gazed at her pensively. âSo, was that kiss just to console me?â
Neera couldnât help but laugh at his slightly jealous tone.
âOf course not, and besides, you initiated that kiss just now. Whatâs coming is my gift for you.â
With that, she tilted her head and leaned in to kiss him.
Jean responded swiftly, firmly holding the back of her head and deepening the kiss before she could pull away.
st her charms.
This woman knew how to entice him, and he had no resistance The kiss lingered for quite some time.
Neera blinked her eyes, sparkling like stars, and asked with a playful smile, âAre you satisfied now, my jealous king?â
He huffed, reluctantly saying, âIt was just so-so.â
Neera stared at him, her smile growing increasingly radiant as her heart filled with sweetness.
Her fiancé seemed to be getting more and more adorable.
