Accomodation

This is a real big problem. Accommodation is really difficult getting especially one that suits you. I wish someone can invest in a good accommodation system in the Nigerian university maybe make it studio like. Students are really going to rush it because everyone is after comfort before price tag. Well, that's what I think.

Sometimes, it feels like you have to book for a room before getting the admission. I have heard of true life situations whereby some students already booked for a room in a compound even before getting admission. That's how bad it is.

You might have to follow that lead or end up going up and down looking for accommodation. There are situations where some students have to beg others to stay in their rooms which is interesting at first but a bad idea because misunderstandings get in the way.

Make sure you choose areas that aren't hidden. There was a day I escorted my course mate to her house and it was my last. It was very far away and hidden. I wonder why.

Choose a safe area and area that is close to school. The proximity to school shouldn't be discouraging and expensive.

Think about availability of light and water. Think of availability of pharmacy, mini markets and other short cuts.

You also have the choice of staying in school hostel. The school hostel is located in the school and you have access to the school, library and almost everything that have to do with school.

The downside of the school hostel that I have noticed is that they are very old buildings and no expansion. Six people or more can be in a small room with their boxes and cooking items.

I wish the school can put in more effort in revamping the school hostels. The number of people in a room shouldn't be congestive. The rooms should also be bigger because ventilation is a problem in school hostels.

Cleaners should he given enough cleaning aids to make the hostel good enough to be in.

Students are really going to rush to pay for hostels than off campus when all of these are put in place. You spend money to get money. A good revenue system requires good input.
