After a pause, Leo frowned, âYou think itâs Mario who did it?â
âIs it impossible?â I looked at him and continued, âDiana didnât want Clarie to meet the Bennett family, and she didnât want Mario to know about Clarieâs existence. I just thought that after all, Clarie was his daughter, and that it would be nice for Clarie to have one more person in the world to love her. But it turns out it wasnât. Mario wanted to keep Clarie at Bennettâs forever, and she didnât want Clarie to leave with me!â
Leo pressed his lips together, looked at me and said disapprovingly, âMario has been in business for years. He canât do such a thing. First, if he wants to keep Clarie, he can let Clarie stay for a while, but Clarie has to grow up. Sheâs the Bennett familyâs granddaughter, and sheâs going to be at all kinds of parties. And it wonât be long before Dennis and you both know.â
I lowered my eyes, twitched my fingers, and said irritably, âMaybe he and Dennis set it up at the same time?â
Link looked at me, frowning slightly. âClara, letâs go back first.â
They all seemed to think I was wrong, and I grew more agitated.
I didnât say a word all the way.
Back at the hotel, Leo was called away by Link. I sat in my room, fidgeting and irritable.
When I found Snowball, it only reinforced the possibility that Clariana might have been taken by a Bennett.
When something started, it got out of hand.
In the end, I made up my mind that Mario was hiding Clariana.
Thinking of this, I went straight out of the hotel and took a taxi to Where Mario was staying.
Mario didnât live at Bennettâs house. He lived in a commercial apartment downtown.
It was hard to get in. You had to make an appointment. From the door, I called Mario.
Although Mario was surprised, he didnât say much. After communicating with the property manager, he asked the property manager to take me up.
The door had been opened early. I went in and looked at the neat order of the room.
Mario heard the noise and got up from the sofa. He got up and poured a cup of tea. Then he looked at me and said, âHave a seat, please!â
I looked at him, but I didnât move. I just looked around the house. Unexpectedly, the houses in the commercial district were reduced to three stories and luxurious.
Without much appreciation of his house, I started looking around the room.
Seeing that, Mario frowned, âClara, what are you doing?â
I ran through all the rooms, and there was no sign of a child. My heart could not help burning in anger, and then I took the cup of tea from him hands.
Without hesitation, I threw it at him. I was beginning to lose my composure, âHey, Mario, you better get Clarie back to me, and donât you be up to anything, because thereâs no way Iâm gonna let her live with you.â
He frowned, the water stains on his face sliding down his shirt. âWhat did you mean?â
I did not intend to talk too much with him, and I said directly, âDidnât you go through all this trouble to keep Clarie here? Iâm telling you, no way! I could never give you my daughter.â
He was angry, âClara, is there something wrong with you? Would I do that to my own child?â
I sneered and looked at him mercilessly, âHow is that impossible? What canât you do? An unscrupulous businessman. How noble do you think you are?â
His looked fierce abruptly, and his voice was low and cold, without warmth. âClara, Dennis will spoil you, but I wonât. Iâm more anxious than you are about Clarieâs missing, but thatâs no reason to be unreasonable.â
âUnreasonable? Me?â I looked at everything in his room and found the toys Clariana used to cuddle with was on the couch. I was getting cranky.
Almost without thinking, I sneered, âOkay, well, Iâll show you what unreasonable is.â
Without waiting for him to react, I raised my hand and pushed all the expensive wine on the bar to the floor.
Then there was the sound of glass breaking. The ground was spread with blood-red wine.
âAre you out of your mind?â he roared.
I didnât care. I was throwing whatever I could at the ground, yelling, âGive me my daughter back...â
Sometimes you couldnât control your emotions. There was no difference between a man who was too excited and a man who was mad.
By the time I realized how much I had trashed Marioâs house, Dennis was there.
Mario scowled, looked at Dennis and said angrily, âYou should get her to a hospital. Sheâs worse than you think.â
Dennis had me in his arms. I frowned at him and said in a cold voice, âWhat you should be thinking about is getting Clarie back as soon as possible.â
With that, he practically carried me out of Marioâs house.
In the car, I had calmed down. I spilled red wine, and my hair was messy.
I know I was m a mess now. Even as I smashed Marioâs house, I had no idea what I was thinking.
Dennis kept quiet, and I didnât want to talk. When I got back to my hotel, I showered and lay in bed, staring at the ceiling for a long time.
Dennis was standing next to the bed, looking at me with dark eyes. He said, âClara, letâs go to the hospital, shall we?â
I turned to look at him, no longer hesitating and flustered. I felt relaxed.
Suddenly, I smiled, âWhy go to the hospital?â
He looked at me with some pain in his eyes. I always thought it was glaring, so I stopped looking.
I sat up straight in bed and looked at him, âDennis, you donât want Clarie with me, do you? Did you lie to me with him, or did you help him hide Clarie?â
He frowned and looked at me with tears in his cool dark eyes. He looked at me in a trance and said, almost in disbelief, âClara, I...â
âIt was you, wasnât it?â I interrupted him and added more forcefully, âYou donât want Clarie, and you donât want me. Youâre all trying to get rid of me, all of you.â
I lowered my eyes and began to cry. The sadness in my heart seemed to spread for a long time, and then I suddenly opened my mouth, and I cried bitterly.
It was getting out of hand.
I saw the pain in Dennisâs eyes and suddenly felt a little dazed. Why were all my thoughts suddenly so extreme and negative? Was it me?
But I couldnât control my extreme thoughts. I was almost sure they hid Clariana.
That night, I fell asleep in Dennisâs arms.
Please Love Me, Mr. George ï¤Chapter 435 Itâs Because we Love Each Other That we Fight 3 When I woke up the next day, Dennis was gone. Looking out of the window of the drizzle, I still felt fuzzy.
The memory of yesterday was very clear, and I clearly knew that I seemed to have made a mistake yesterday.
My brain was killing me. I buried my head under the covers, but the less I tried to think about it, the easier it was to remember.
