I let out a half-giggle-half-sigh as Caden's fingers traced down my bare sides. His lips left kisses on my jaw and neck as his hands went around to pull my back flush against his chest.

I tilted my head back, "I should've told you not to disrupt me."

He chuckled, "Half of me doesn't want to move you because you look so peaceful and the other half of me can't stand you being so close without holding you."

"I like both halves of you."

"Good because the latter half usually wins."

I laughed lightly. I closed my eyes again for a moment before sighing and rolling over, "Today's plans?"

"See who is still on board with volunteering, then starting the experiments by whoever wants to go first and so on, meeting with Daniel and Ben to see how they can help the doctors, and we go from there."

"I probaly won't see you since I'm going to stay with the mates and children of those volunteering."

"Ugh," he groaned and I kissed his chest.

"Don't worry, I'll find you for dinner."

"You better." He smirked and I laughed before going to sit up.

He held my arms not letting me leave and pinned me under him, "Caden?"

"I didn't tell you my plan before today's plan."

The lust in his eyes let me know exactly what his plan before the plan was, not to mention his thoughts or the bulge by my legs. "The agenda seems pretty full Caden... maybe we'll only have time for one plan."

He smirked, "I guess the experiments won't happen until tomorrow then babe."

I laughed before his lips landed on mine in a hungry manner. When he broke away to kiss lower down my neck I titled his face up, "Maybe I meant the other plan."

"Maybe I don't care." I laughed and he smiled wide before pecking my nose, "I am a talented man my beautiful little mate, I'm sure I can get both accomplished."

"I guess you'll have to prove it, sexy."

His lips were on mine again, "I have every intention of it."

------

We had quickly grabbed breakfast since after we finally left the bed Caden insisted on a shower, which I really wasn't opposed to, and we were supposed to meet the doctors soon.

I cleaned the dishes and was drying my hands as he came up behind me, holding a cup of coffee under my nose. "That smells delicious."

"Yes you do. I made coffee."

"Caden." I shook my head lightly, "I meant the coffee."

"I know. The doctors are ready or I would join you on the deck for one. Instead, I put it in a travel mug. With a few chocolates."

I turned and kissed him. He was shocked at first before he cupped my chin and deepened the kiss.

We are ready whenever you are Alpha, Luna.

I pulled away when I noticed Caden wasn't going to.

"Thank you Caden."

"Any time beautiful, if that's how you're going to repay me."

I winked and pushed him out the door, "Let's get this started so I can join the others quicker."

"Yes ma'am."

He grabbed my hand and we walked across the foyer. We had spent the night at the old Blackthorn pack house since that's where the experiments were happening. Those volunteering either spent the night as well or were arriving now.

The mates and children were told that they could gather in the lounge rooms, and then as soon as their relative was done they would be notified, by Ben or Dan, and they could go see them.

I was planning on moving between the five lounge rooms throughout the day. We had the two main doctors, fifteen of the next level doctors and over thirty nurses. We should be able to get through all the volunteers throughout one to three days. We would see how the first day went.

Everyone was gathered in the ball room currently and Caden and I walked up the couple stairs to the raised platform. As soon as Caden raised his hand slightly the room went silent.

"Thank you everyone for coming and thank you in advance to those who helped set this up yesterday. Also, we could not have done any of this without the help of our doctors and the nurses." Claps went around before Caden coughed, "We would like to get in as much today as possible, so we want to begin quickly. Those not actually participating in the experiments are more than welcome to gather in the lounge rooms where my beautiful mate will be. Any questions, she will answer for you. I will be with those who are agreeing to have this experiment done. Before the doctors can do anything you must give them your signed contract, they are the same as those given out yesterday but if you do not have yours there are extras in the waiting room." Caden paused as papers shuffled and agreements were heard.

Caden paused as a few more entered the room and Dan met them at the door and discussed what Caden just said.

"Okay, we will be giving numbers to keep an order, as soon as your number is shown on the screen you may enter the room, however, you must be alone, there will be too many people otherwise."

Again he paused as people nodded.

"Without further discussion anyone willing to go first raise your hand."

Out of the room of about seven hundred, two to three hundred being volunteers, about fifty hands went up.

Caden asked them to follow Ben to the waiting room. Mates and parents hugged before a few tears fell and goodbyes were given. Last glances happened and waves were happening en route as those willing to go first left the room.

Caden held me tighter and I saw Dana and Jess in the room as I turned. What were they doing here?

Baby what's wrong?

Dana and Jess are here.

For who?

I don't know. I don't know if they're just supporting me or here for someone they know. My mind rushed through the possibilities of them volunteering but I quickly shut that down. Then it went into overdrive and I started to worry. Would they volunteer?

Don't panic baby, just talk to them. Find out what's going on. Don't worry. You wouldn't stop them from volunteering anyway.

No, but I wish they would've told me if they were going to. I never talk to them anymore Caden.

Hey, hey, he turned me to him, You're blending two packs, you're carrying two pups, you're working on designing a pack house with four floors, you're getting married, and you are Luna of this pack.

It's weird how I always forget about our wedding, Yeah but-

No buts. They know you're busy. You make time for them just about every week, and with the new pack house probably more often. They don't blame you at all. Trust me.

What if they don't- My mind was going crazy and I was starting to hyperventilate.

Tell me this is hormones Bee. You're shaking. He held me and soon pulled back to look at me still having worry eyched on his face, Baby?

Thank you Caden. I smiled and pecked his lips. Just hormones.

He smiled and blew out a breath of relief. Shall we call up the next bunch?

I nodded and we turned to the crowd. Many people were holding each other and talking amongst themselves.

I saw the young boy in the wheelchair and his dad talking. His mother had a tear on her face as she held her daughter.

Caden began, "If you would all like to grab your numbers before coming back here we would appreciate it. Please don't all stampede towards the nurses at once, thank you."

People slowly left the room and five minutes later a steady stream was coming into the room with numbers and the remaining ones were leaving to get theirs.

Caden held me close and we left the raised platform. "I'm going to talk to Dana and Jess."

"We can if you'd like."

"Thank you Caden."

He smiled and pecked my forehead. We were stopped a couple times as we made our way through but eventually got to where Dana and jess were. Now there were three people.

And one was holding a number.

To be more exact: my mother was holding a number.

"Mom...?"

She glanced at me, giving me a shy smile, "Yes dear?"

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm volunteering. I want to be tested."

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I didn't want you to stop me."

"I wouldn't stop you." I said as I hugged her to me, "I would never stop you."

She hugged me back, "I thought you might not want me to."

"I trust the doctors. If they think it works then I would get tested myself, if I wasn't pregnant."

No you wouldn't.

I ignored Caden as mom spoke, "And I trust the trust you have in them."

I hugged her again, "Thanks mom."

Caden brought me into his side once she stepped back. He was a bit tense so I squeezed his hand hoping to calm him down.

We caught up quickly on all of our lives and I was glad to hear Jess and Dana had stopped their little dating mission to find Mr. Perfect. They had decided to let it happen naturally. Thank the goddess.

We said goodbye, I told them I would find them later and that mom had to tell me before she went in before we left.

I followed Caden's lead as we walked through the room and gave him a questioning look as he lead me out the door of the ball room.

"Caden-?"

He shook his head once before we opened the office door. My butt was on the desk moments later, door locked, as he kissed me passionately.

I gave in to the kiss and was about to question what this was about before he sucked on my mark. His teeth slid up towards my ear, his voice a low growl, "Pregnant or not you would not do this."

"Why? Everyone else-"

"Everyone else is not my mate."

"Cade-"

"Blake."

I pulled away, "Why are you so against this? My own mother is doing it."

"I saw what happened to Ray and Cass-" I pushed him back as I stood.

"I thought you said it was successful!? My mom is going to die?!"

"Keep your voice down-" He said taking a step closer.

"Fuck that! I'll scream if I want to!"

"Bee-"

I looked at him and fell to my knees as it hit me.

He lied to me.

"No. Bee I never lied. Let me explain-"

I looked at him with tears in my eyes as he came closer, "You said you would never lie. You said you would always tell the truth. You said that when we barely knew each other. You promised." I put my face in my hands as the sobs wracked my body.

I had a hard time wrapping my mind around Caden lying to me. It just didn't make sense. I couldn't believe it.

I felt a hand on my chin and jumped before moving back.

"Please Bee-"

"You lied." I cried harder.

He tried to bring me closer to him but I struggled against him. He wrapped his arms around me tighter to stop me from refusing but I kept crying.

"You lied."

I physically felt him flinch at my words, "No Bee. I promise I didn't lie to you. I promise I didn't. Please say you believe me."

"You lied...?" It came out as more of a question than a statement and he made me look at him.

"I didn't lie Blake. Bee I would never lie to you. I will always keep that promise. I gave you my word. I didn't lie. Please let me explain."

He hugged me tighter and the tingles calmed me instantly. He rocked back and forth slowly and I brought my hand up to wipe away the tears but he put it back in my lap and wiped them with the pad of his thumb.

"Will you listen? Please Bee? You're killing me." His strained voice made me look up. He looked pale and terrified.

I nodded before breaking out into more sobs as I clung to his shirt.

"What's wrong Bee?"

"I'm so sorry. I am so so sorry. Oh my goodness Caden I-"

"Bee don't apologize. I forgot you left the room yesterday when the doc explained it all."

I looked up at him, "What did you mean everything that happened to Ray and Cass?"

"It's a simple procedure but it's painful. Between the screams they made and how much they fought against it... I would never let you go through that."

"All their mates are going to be in pain! Do they know?"

"They were told yesterday they would have to block their mate until the pain receded. That's why they won't know if they are dead or not. That's also why they go in alone. They soundproofed the rooms yesterday. Everyone knows it is painful."

"What about the little boy yesterday?"

"I told his dad to tell him."

I nodded before looking back up, "All these people are going through the pain with the possibility of dying simply because we asked them to?"

He brought me closer and pecked my forehead, "I told you, they would do anything for you."

After a couple moments of silence I hugged him tightly, "I'm glad you love me enough to withstand the bouts of hormone induced crazes I have."

He chuckled, "I would withstand more."

I looked at him, "You're amazing."

"Not as much as you are."

I rolled my eyes. We stood and he held me close as we both calmed before we went back to the ball room.
