4.Job Hunting

I entered Prachiti TV office to get my pay check. I entered the CEO office where Mr Rajesh. Iyer sat in his chair. "May I come in sir" this made him to look up at me with a warm smile. He is here since I started my work. Well he gives money a lot of importance and other than that, he is alright. "come in" he said and gestured me to sit on the chair.

"Actually I wanted to say goodbye to you personally Nandini. I can handover this to Thakkars with relief. I almost repaid 70% of debt by the help of your sensational news. Now the new CEO wants to meet you. I am leaving this country now and staying with my son in Miami. All the best." I thought he will forward his hand, but he hugged me and once again thanked me.

I went to the conference hall where the new CEO waited. I entered and looked for Soha who was hell scared. There entered the new CEO. " Good evening everyone, I am Abhimanyu. Thakkar. I don't want all of you to introduce me, but I want all of you to make me remember your name by your work. I want everyone here to work hard and smart to reach the goal. Well I am starting a newspaper company as 'Prachiti Today'"  we all applauded.

"I will be appointing new employees and parting this office so we can get more help. All of you can go and do your work." I was going along with them, but was stopped by Mr. Thakkar. "Miss. Murthy!"

Nandini: Yes sir?

Mr. Thakkar: Do you have a degree?

I knew this question would come, so in response, I lowered my head.

Mr. Thakkar:  I know you don't have that, so I have decided to give you receptionist post and after completing your journalism you can do whatever you want with my permission.

He is cannot be serious. I did so much till now and this new damn CEO is giving me the desk job.

Nandini: Sir I am the NM who is best in sting operation and I don't think I am good for the desk job.

Mr. Thakkar: Who is the boss here? You or me? I think you know the answer so obey my order and please allow me to do my work.

Nandini: Ok sir, but I don't think that is possible. After reading this letter I am damn sure you will want to search for new receptionist.

I said and handed him the envelop that I had in my bag. I got the cab and tears rolled down my cheeks. My pay check was pretty good for me. My uncle and Aunt are suffering for my cousin, Rishab's education. I worked here and always gave my 50% pay to my uncle. Well they thought that they won it in lucky draw. Now I have to search a job, because I gave my resignation.

Searching job in India is like searching a unique fish in a sea. I am facing the problem of unemployment. There are many jobs like

1. A home tutor -> boring for me.

2. A cleaner in mole -> if they see my room then they will not appoint me.

3. waitress in café -> I don't drink coffee

This went on, but I got nothing but one thing caught my eyes, before I could think, the guy who asked Navya's number snatched my newspaper from which I was exploring a job. "Hey!!" my protest fell into deaf ears "Why are you hunting a job?" I really wanted to cry my heart out and tell all my sorrows, but I am a big girl so I swallowed it. "I lost my job" I said as I closed my eyes and leaned on chair.

"What is your name?" I asked to which he called all his friends. I was stunned when they arrived within a minute and were present in front of me. "You know me, Manik. Malhotra." Manik said showing himself "This is Kabir" and Kabir waved his hand. So I should ask Navya's number for Kabir. "This is shy boy, Druv." Druv gave me a warm smile and waved his hand. "This is Aliya" she shook my hand with her perfect manicured nails. "This is Mukti" she was busy with her cell, so Kabir elbowed her in her arm to which she gave him a confused expression. Kabir gestured towards me through his eyes and then realization drowned her, at last she gave a smile returning to continue working with her cell.

"If you need any help we will help..." I don't want to give them false hope so I told them the truth. "I lost my job." this halted their every action. Even Mukti looked towards me with open mouth. "So you are hunting the jobs?" this was by Kabir. "I have a prefect job for you." Druv said showing an ad of job. I saw it and it had 'wanted a care taker for a bungalow.' "But it is boring I want something adventures." I whined over it.

"I think you should take it as temporary. When you get your 'adventures job' you can still work in this." Mukti's suggestion seemed valid so I thought of taking some advice from my uncle.

"How was your date?" Aliya asked with mischief, but I saw something unusual, that is Manik was blushing. After a lot of requesting he finally opened his mouth. "It was the best date. I never thought saving those helpless girls will make so much happy. You know one of the girl who got saved yesterday was the daughter of the maid who worked in our house. She came at midnight to thank me. She cried in my arms continuously thanking me. I felt so overwhelmed by it."

There is a moment when you get clicked to do something very special in your life. I think Manik realised it.
