Halo's birthday party

Angel's POV

It's a week since we returned from Zanzibar and today is Halo's birthday . The designers came in and out for the past week to pull off the decoration for the birthday party . It was her tenths birthday so it had to be big .

She wanted a purple birthday party so the theme was a purple magical garden  ,and all the guests had to wear purple attire , something that gives off an enchanted garden vibe .

I wore a dark purple fitted dress that had a design going up on my left shoulder, and a  veil starting from my back to the ground . The bottom of my dress had multiple purple flowers . For my hair it was curled and placed into a bun with  few curled strands falling from it and two curled strands infront . My make-up was nude with a pink lip combo .

I grabbed Halo's accessories that bought for her and head downstairs . I enter the large living room to see Lucas all dressed up for the party ; his dark Brown hair  is gelled back and he  wore purple suit the same shade as my dress , a white dress shirt underneath it , and black dress shoes . He looked so handsome . He caught me staring and smirked .

" You like what you see ?" He said coming towards me " I do " I confirmed once he was close to me I pulled him in for a kiss few seconds later he smiled against my lips " keep it's a kids party keep it low " I quickly pulled away embarrassed " sorry" I mumbled " Don't worry " he pulled me back to him " I like what I see " he tilt my head and lightly kissed me "Beautiful " he mumbled  I smiled  " It's a kid's party babe , behave yourself " I reminded him hé just smiled and held my hand

" The girls are almost ready " he said and guide me to one of the bedrooms where the girls were getting their hair done " Perfect because I have to give something to Halo before their finish her look "

" Her birthday gift ? " Lucas asked as we go down the hallway where the bedrooms are .

" Well it's not the main gift , it's something aside. " I tell him happy with what I came up for her " she has two ?" I nod " She is too spoiled " he playfully rolled his eyes .

We arrived in the guests room which turned into a makeshift salon " Hi mommy ! " Heaven said once she saw me enter " Hi baby " I grabbed her chubby cheeks and kissed them .

Her hair was pulled in a curled ponytail and a butterfly headband on her hair she wore pretty purple dress with puffy shoulders and a bow in the front with silver sprakling shoes " you like my shoes daddy ? " Heaven asked wiggling her feet and it shimmer under the light . Lucas grabbed her tiny hands and kissed them " I love them princess " Heaven gigled smiling at her dad .

Lucas turned to Halo and smiled " Happy birthday sweety " she groaned playfully " That's the fifth time you've wished me today daddy " she gave him a teasing glare you could clearly see that she loved the attention from her Father " I'll continue until I arrived on my tenth " he kissed her hand .

" Happy birthday honey " I wished her she gave me a small smile in return " Thanks " " I have something for you" I hand her the small jewellery box " Since the theme  is a magical garden , I figured thé gift would go well with the theme  " she opened the box and revealed white butterfly hair clippers " Thank you "

The party was already in full swing with the loud music and the backyard full of kids . I spotted Halo talked to some of her dance friends while eating pick macaroons . Her curled hair looked gorgeous with the white hair clippers which gave her a glowing look.  Her purple gown made her look like a princess . It was a off thé shoulder  purple dress with butterflies on it

Heaven was getting her face painted I smiled as she giggled gleefully with her friend that I recognised as jasmine from my ballet class . " Good afternoon everyone ! " Rosa greeted cheerfully as she approached us hand in hand  with Antonio . She kissed my cheeks in french mannerisme  and hugged her son .

" you look gorgeous honey ! " She took my hand and twirl me around I giggled " thank you same goes to you Rosa the dress  really compliments your body " I said and it really does it brought out her beautiful curves .

Antonio shook my hand " Good to see you again Angel " I smile " likewise "

Leona greeted in French mannerism as well " you look great " Thank you ".  " Your dress looks amazing " I compliments " thank you . It's Versace " If you didn't know her better you'd think she was bragging about it but she wasn't .  with the past few days spent with her after the vacation , I got to know her better and one of the things I  understood is  that her way of talking wasn't boastful but rather her talking about what she has accomplished  in a positive way . Like how for her modelling career  she wanted to start from scratch with no connection coming from her parents and now she was one of the top models in Italy .

Marcus also came . His presence still gave me chills for the same as last time but  I tried to ignore it .

The girls were showered with love and gifts by their grandparents and aunty .

" Thank you for coming guys " Halo said hugging each one of them . " And your are all wearing purple ! " she smiled happily " of course . It's part of the theme right ? " Antonio ask her she nod eagerly " Thank you ! "

Lucas appeared next to me and kissed my temple " Let's go and greet some guests . "

I let him guide me to the guests some were his business partners and some were parents  from the dance academy . Few minutes later it was time to have the main course . The food was served and everyone went to make their plate by foods stands and then we all sat and started eating .

An hour later it was time for the cake a beautiful two layer cake with the word ' Halo's in gold . We sang happy birthday in both English and Italian Nona then helped her cut the cake . Few minutes later Lucas and I went to refill our plates on our way there we overheard the children's conversation .

" I didn't know madame Reed would be at the party " said a girl that I recognised as Halo's friend s " She's my dad's girlfriend so she had to be here " Halo rolled her eyes .

" So she is now your mum ?" Thé girl  gasped at her own conclusion Halo scoff " Never . Just because she's my father girlfriend doesn't make her my mum . She could never be that "

At her last sentence Lucas appeared next to her " Halo ." He said sternly " Go inside "

I really didn't know what I was thinking . Just because Heaven considered me as a mum now,  doesn't mean Halo will too . Lucas brought her to one of the bedrooms downstairs " why would you say such a thing ?" " You can't force me to accepte her as a mum " Halo said with a blank face .

" Fix you attitude Halo . And even if you don't want to , you don't have to tell everyone , going behind her back and disrespect her like that . She has been nothing but nice to you since you've met her so don't disrespect her" Lucas said sternly . Tears were now forming in her eyes .

" Are you really going to scold me on my birthday dad ?" Tears were now streaming  down her face"

" If you don't behave " he said still with a stern stare then his eyes softened . He gently wipe her tears " you still got to behave even on you birthday , Tesoro . That shouldn't change " he spoke now in a softer tone ." Freshen up then come downstairs when you ready . " he kissed her forehead then went downstairs .

After few minutes  I come out of my hiding place " hi " I told her softly she looked up at me ." I got you you're present " I told her hoping this could cheer her up .

I wanted to give her something different , from what she usually gets . Something meaningful . She could obviously get anything she wanted , so I wanted to give her something that not everyone thought about getting and that could help her . " Here " I hand her the  gift " I hope you like it , I had it customised "

It was a brown diary with butterflies embroidered on the cover . It had the old fashioned way with a key and a lock  " Ly mother gave me one when I was your age " I smile down at her " it was to help me write down all of my feelings , since I didn't like talking about them and  tend to keep them to myself " I remembered that day like it was yesterday .

' Hopefully this will not only carry your feelings and thoughts , but your tears as well ' She said

" That way you can write down what you feel when you don't like talking about it "

Halo looked up at me emotionless " thanks " she said I nod " come downstairs when you ready " with that I went to the backyard little did I know she threw the diary across the room .

Third person

Five minutes later , Halo stepped out and rejoined the party . There was a soft classical music that played and Lucas approach his daughter " wanna have a daddy and daughter dance ? " He asked softly Halo smiled " what would be my birthday without one ? " She placed her hand in her father's and went to the small dance floor .

Every year , Lucas and Heaven had a daddy and daughter dance . It first started on her first birthday she surprised everyone  by taking  her first few steps , then Lucas gently guided her across the living room encouraging her to walk longer in a  dancing manner , and eversince  it became a tradition held on every birthday .

" I hope you understand where I'm coming from , sweety " Lucas said as they danced along the violine.

" youn're both important to me , and even though you don't like her I want you to respect her and that's vice versa " Halo nod at her father's words .

" It's not that I don't like her it's just ... hard " " I know " and Lucas knew .

He knew how  much Halo loved her mother even up until now . How her absence still affected her , and even more today because she is celebrating anoher birthday without her . There was pain and void in her heart , so Lucas only  hoped that she could feel whole again even with little moments like this ,  spent with him or even with Angel .

" It will get better " he told her softly .

For the rest of the evening they  danced  away until there was stars stretch across the Sky just like on their very first dance .

Halo and Her father's relationships is one of the best if i do Say so myself .

There is lots of understading and good communication and that are somethings that are rare these days.

They just display what a good father and child relationship is  suppose to look like.
