âListen up everyone, the president of SG Travel Agency is going to inspect our hotel this afternoon. Make sure nothing goes wrong, not even the smallest details, got it?â.
âUnderstood.â
Hayden just finished his meeting room meeting at the ST Hotel.
The head office had established a long-term partnership with the prestigious SG Travel Agency, everything else was done, what remained was the on-site inspection.
The agency chose Haydenâs hotel for the inspection.
As soon as the inspection was passed, the long-term partnership contract would be signed. Thereafter, all SG Agency clients traveling to N City would stay at the ST hotel.
In the afternoon, under a blazing sun, the hotel management team stood at the door waiting for the inspection team.
A black Bentley appeared. A manager-looking person got out of the passenger seat and opened the back seat door.
Out of the car stepped a pair of five-inch heels with diamonds installed on the side, followed by a pair of long legs. A woman stepped out of the car while holding the door for support.
Her black slacks with loose-fitting suspenders made her look tall. She wore her hair pulled back in a bun, leaving a strip of bangs that fell down the side of her cheek.
With her Bulgari earring and bright red lips, she oozed charisma.
How, such a young woman?
Everyone was surprised.
No one expected the inspector to be so young.
After all, SG was a world-renowned travel agency, and N City was a tourist resort. The woman in front of them was in her late twenties and extremely beautiful. It was hard not to be suspicious.
The general manager of the hotel approached her.
âAre you Addison, the SG President for N City?â.
âItâs me.â The woman removed her sunglasses and flashed a polite smile.
âCall me Duncan. We have everything ready for your arrival. Please come in and take a look around.â
âVery well.â Addison nodded.
âIâve just been assigned to this place. Although ST Group is prestigious, this is my first contract working as president of the N City branch, I want to make sure of the quality of services my clients receive, so please, I hope you donât mind if I get a little fussy later.â
âNot at all.â After chatting for a while, manager Duncan and the rest followed Addison to the hotel.
Unsure if she had made a mistake, Hayden felt Addison keep looking at her.
âThis establishment is the oldest of all the ST Group hotels. However, the facilities are brand new. The furnishings in this roomâ¦.â.
âOne moment.â
Cutting Director Duncan off, he stopped in the lobby and stared at a vase of flowers on the table. He walked toward it with long strides and asked coldly, âCan someone tell me whatâs wrong with this flower?â
Manager Duncanâs face turned somber and he didnât know what he was referring to.
âThis hotel caters to people from all walks of life, especially the blue collar and well-to-do. Didnât you think of the customers who might have pollen allergies when you put the flower here?â Addisonâs face filled with disgust. She looked very disappointed.
âWeâll take care of it right now.â Manager Duncan glared at the manager next to him, âGet rid of all the flowers in this establishment!â
âWait.â Addison frowned and looked at the managerâs name tag, âYou should be clear on your respective responsibilities. This should be taken care of by the room manager, is that him?â.
Manager Duncan was stunned and looked to his side nervously.
Hayden was the room manager that day. However, everyone knew about her relationship with Joseph. Even if it really was her fault, he didnât want to put his bossâs fiancée on the spot in front of everyone.
âItâs me.â Haydenâs voice emerged from the crowd, âIâm in charge of the room today. Itâs also my fault for putting the flower in there.â
Addison turned around and saw Hayden, who was wearing the uniform of a hall attendant.
He stepped out of the crowd with a leisurely pace.
âHayden⦠Downey.â Addison read her name tag slowly, âNice name.â
âThanks.â Hayden frowned, âIâll take care of the flowers and make sure it doesnât happen again. I hope this doesnât affect your assessment of our hotel.â
âMistakes can be fixed. But people who always make mistakes are hard to fix.â
Addison took a long look at manager Duncan. âYou employ all kinds of people.â
This comment was like a slap in Haydenâs face.
Maybe it was because she had been overprotected for the past few months, she felt wobbly and her face burned.
âYouâre dismissed.â Addison said coldly and walked away with the crowd following her.
Lillian, who was at the front desk, came over to comfort her after the crowd entered the elevator.
She was upset, âWhy didnât you explain it properly, Director Downey? You didnât fix the flowers.â
âHow was I supposed to explain it?â Hayden forced a smile, âYou want me to say that it was Manager Duncan who ordered the flowers put there as decoration this morning in front of everyone?â
It would be disastrous for the hotel.
It wouldnât affect the company much if it was a regular employee who made a mistake. But it would be disastrous if it was someone in upper management like Manager Duncan who made a mistake.
Hayden could only take the blame for the good of the company.
âThis is so unfair.â Lillian said with regret on her face.
Hayden pinched her hand and smiled, âWhy do you feel worse than me? Itâs okay, go back to your post. Itâs good that you left me here, so I can go back to my office to take care of the documents.â
That said, he headed for the elevator as if nothing had happened.
As he entered the elevator, as he looked at himself in the mirror, the expression on his face changed. He exhaled deeply.
It was so embarrassing.
In the VIP suite on the top floor of the hotel.
âAddison, this will be your room for the duration of your stay here. This is the room with the best standard in our hotel, there are only two of them on each floor.â
âHmm.â
After the crowd left, Addison closed the door, sat down on the couch and made a call.
When the call connected, she immediately put on a lady-like expression, âKevin, Iâm back. Guess where I am right now.â
ââ¦â.
âAt Josephâs hotel.â
ââ¦â
âIâm not here for fun, Iâm here to work. My company made a contract with the ST Hotel. Well never mind that, letâs have dinner together tonight.â
ââ¦â.
âAre you busy? I donât care, you have to invite Joseph for me.â
ââ¦â.
