C39 – Victory

The Earth Demonic Bear’s strength goes without saying; it was a fearsome Giant Beast! Its limbs, as thick as tree trunks, made the arena tremble with every step it took.

​Lee Dong watched his Earth Demonic Bear with a sense of pride. This rare Demonic Beast was a prize his family had snatched from the lair of an adult Earth Demonic Bear, a feat accomplished by the Master of the Lee Family himself.

“Chen Wu, I respect your ability to grow so much on your own, but the spot in Flame City is crucial to me. It’s a must-have for the Cao Family, and I won’t be pulling any punches,” Lee Dong said, his gaze intense.

​”No need to hold back. I won’t be either,” Chen Wu replied.

​With a swift gesture, Chen Wu activated the Summoning Array. In a flash, a majestic Giant Eagle, its body adorned with black and gold Iron-feathers, appeared in the arena. As the Blood Rain manifested, its piercing Eagle Eyes coldly fixed on the Earth Demonic Bear. The formidable presence of the Bronze Grade 4 Demonic Beast made the Earth Demonic Bear issue a fearsome roar of intimidation.

“Bronze Grade 4! How can this be?” Lee Dong was stunned, and so were all the Demonic Pet Masters watching. It hadn’t been long since Chen Wu had defeated Hu Wang, and now his Iron-feather Eagle had not only shown incredible strength but had also advanced from Grade 3 to Grade 4 in just a few days—a rate of progression that would be difficult to match even with the vast resources of the great clans.

How had this young man with no apparent background achieved such a feat?

Up in the stands, the instructor from the Primary Demonic Pet Academy, who had come to Green-mount Town for recruitment, couldn’t hide his excitement. “Excellent, excellent! We have someone who’s reached the level of a High-grade Demonic Pet Master. What’s his name?”

​But Blood Rain was quicker still. Beating its wings, it activated the special properties of the Wind Wings Treasure Weapon, conjuring a gentle Whirlwind that hastened the Iron-feather Eagle’s ascent. In a moment, it was airborne, rendering the Earth Demonic Bear’s Earth Shattering attack futile.

“Blood Rain, Feather Arrow!”

Chen Wu’s face was a mask of concentration as he commanded his Flight-type Demonic Pet to leverage its aerial advantage. Confined to the Beast Battling Platform, where the flying height was severely limited to barely five meters, Blood Rain still managed to soar nimbly above the Earth Demonic Bear. Its iron feathers, sharp as knives, rained down in a slashing torrent!

“Earth Demonic Bear, dodge!”

The Earth Demonic Bear executed a swift roll, attempting to evade the attack, yet it was still struck by the Feather Arrow. The bear’s thick hide absorbed the blow, the feathers piercing only its dense fur, causing bleeding but no serious injury.

The sight of blood instantly unleashed the Earth Demonic Bear’s savage nature. It let out a furious roar and swiped its massive paws at the Iron-feather Eagle above. Blood Rain, however, evaded with an agile aerial roll.

“Well done, Blood Rain! Keep using Feather Arrow to drain its stamina!”

Blood Rain’s speed was astonishing, darting across the field like a swift shadow. The Earth Demonic Bear, despite its formidable strength, was at a loss to catch the nimble creature. Lee Dong gritted his teeth in frustration, and a hint of fear crept into the eyes of the other young spectators. Chen Wu was impressively strong!

But Lee Dong was not one to concede defeat easily. He bellowed, “Earth Demonic Bear, go berserk!”

The Earth Demonic Bear’s eyes turned a fierce blood-red as its demeanor shifted to one of pure bloodlust. This was the Beast-type’s most potent enhancement skill, boosting its strength by 30% and filling the Beast Pet with unbridled rage, eliminating any trace of hesitation. Its combat prowess surged dramatically!

Yet, raw power was not enough. The Earth Demonic Bear lacked the speed to keep up with the Iron-feather Eagle.

In response, Lee Dong invoked a secret technique, “Speeding Up Art!”

The low-level secret technique, Speeding Up Art, boosted the bear’s speed by an additional 20% of its own strength for three minutes.

Empowered by the Speeding Up Art and the berserk enhancement, the Earth Demonic Bear finally matched Blood Rain’s pace. It swiped ferociously, narrowly missing Blood Rain. Despite the Demonic Pet’s harrowing evasions, peril loomed at every turn.

Chen Wu was not without his strategies; he commanded Blood Rain to dive faster and use Crack Claw to strike at the Earth Demonic Bear’s chest. Alas, the bear’s hide was so thick that the attack merely left scars, not even causing a serious injury.

“We have no choice but to wear it down. The Berserk and Speeding Up Art will last about three minutes. Once that time passes, the Earth Demonic Bear will become weak, and victory will be ours!”

Lee Dong was acutely aware of this and directed the Earth Demonic Bear to launch a fierce assault.

The Master of the Lee Family’s face turned pale: “Dong has been defeated!”

Indeed, after enduring for three minutes, as the Earth Demonic Bear began to weaken, Chen Wu swiftly commanded, “Blood Rain, execute The Hawk Strike Force, target its neck with Crack Claw!”
