Chapter 19: A New Power

“What do you mean that her group hasn’t returned yet?” I said to our teacher.

A search party has been dispatched to look for Noa's group. I have a bad feeling about this. Princess Sera must be behind this since she has taken an eye for Taka at the start. I complained about this to my father and the tribe leader. But they brush me off.

“Lend me a horse; I’ll go search for their group alone,” I said to my teacher. “Or let me in the search and rescue teams! Only I can search for him!”

It’s okay to cry, to be angry or scared.” Mother said and let me rest my head on her lap. “It was not your fault, Miyuki; don’t fill your head full of what-ifs or what happened.”

“For now, try to calm down and relax.” Mother said. “Close your eyes and let it go. When you wake up, you will have full energy again to search for him. You must attend school tomorrow, right?”

Hearing my mother's comforting words, I go to sleep on her lap. When I sleep, I wake up in a battlefield. My hands were full of blood, my sword stained with blood. Am I in a dream?

I hear Taka's sound.

When I try to find him, an endless stream of soldiers tries to surround me and attack me. Using all of my strength, I tried to fight and get out of this encirclement. My body is all sore, and my strength is depleted.

Until I meet a weird knight in yellowish heavy armor. I didn't know who that knight was because of the full helm that the knight wore. The knight asked me for a duel; I readied my weapon and accepted her challenge. The enemy knight used a halberd and got into a defensive stance.

Using my charge attack, I launch a heavy attack with my sword. My attack tried to destroy that knight's defense but failed. With one strike, I was killed by that knight. His attacks are too strong; slowly, I see Taka behind her.

“No, Miyuki! I’m sorry!”

“What!”

I wake up in my bed. It was still dawn; that dream was scary. I never thought about getting killed in this world. For that reason, I must be stronger and strong enough to save him or destroy this world. If anything happens to him, even X, I will challenge you to a duel!

With renewed vigor, I grab my training gear and do my morning exercise 2 times more as usual. I will not get killed here; I will fulfill my promise to bring back Taka with me!
