CHAPTER : 20

After completing his sentence, Samrat slowly opened his eyes not knowing what to except from Virat who might be surprised and sad again after knowing about Sai's engagement. He looked at Virat and see the most lifeless and pale face he has seen in his entire life. The bright and glowing face which has arrived at his house this morning was once again colourless and sad. He was concerned about Virat as he was still, he was not even responding to anything. He was not even crying and was only sitting still. Samrat put his hands on his shoulder and tried to shake him, but still he did not moved. He was getting more concerned about him. There was no reaction, no movement in his body.

Virat was feeling a storm, building inside of him. The storm of sadness and utter shock. His biggest fear was coming true. His Sai is going to be someone else's. He has always feared that Sai must have moved on with her life but after knowing that she was still single, he was on cloud nine, but now he cannot even know how to handle the pain. This pain what he was experiencing right now is way more stronger and bigger than what he has experienced in his life. He was confused what to do? Weather he should cry or he should hurt himself to the extent when he can't feel anything. The thought of ending his life was coming in his mind. He did not know what to do next as his only motive of living now, was not going to be complete. His only aim to live life was with his Sai but now it was not going to be completed. So he thought that what is the point of him living now?

Samrat was getting more and more concerned about Virat. It's been a few minutes and he has not moved at all. He again tried to shake him.

Samrat:  Virat, kuch to bol. Aaise chup kyu baitha hai. Kuch toh bolo na, Dekh mujhe or Pakhi ko bhi nahi pata tha ki Sai ki engagement ho gai hai. Vo toh jab hum yaha vapas aaye tab usne hume bataya. Please Virat, hume sach mein kuch bhi nahi pata tha.

Pakhi who was standing behind the wall ,to give some time to the brothers, was listening and hearing to all what was happening. She was feeling pity for him. She knows that everytime when Virat loves someone, that person left him. It has happened with him once and it was again happening with him. Frist it happened with him when he loved her but she got married to samrat and now it's again happening with him, when sai is getting married with Vir. She comes out from behind the wall and sits in front of them, on the sofa.

Pakhi: Virat kuch toh bolo.

He couldn't speak anything. The tear finally escaped his eyes. He hugged samrat and cried. All his pain and regret was coming out of his eyes making his eyes red in colour. Samrat held his brother and let him cry on his shoulders. Pakhi put her hand on his back and rubbed her hand on his back to calm him down. After sometime, Virat finally stopped his crying and broke the hug. He looked down, ignoring both of their eyes who were filled with concern for him. But he did not need their concern, he wanted his sai back which he can't get. Suddenly a question popped up in his mind and he faced them both and asked.

Virat: jab tum logo ko pata chala ki sai ki engagement ho gai hai toh phir mujhe tum dono ne bataya kyu nahi? Mein nahi aata yaha pe. Tum dono jante ho ki mein usse kisi or ke saath nahi dekh sakta toh phir tum dono ne mujhe yaha aane se roka kyu nahi? Kya tum dono yeh chahate ho ki mein usse dekh kar or udas hu, yeh sochu ki meri ek galti ki wajha se vo mere saath nahi. Vo kisi ko or ke hone ja rahi hai? Kyu nahi roka mujhe yaha aane se?

Virat's voice was high but was breaking in between because he was still sobbing in between. He was not able to understand that why they want him to see his sai getting married to someone else. If they would have told him about her engagement earlier then he would have not even be here in the frist place. He would have not tied up fake hopes in his heart and in the hearts of the rest of the family members that he will bring his sai back. He was angry, devastated, sad and broken at the same time.

Samrat looked at his eyes. He can clearly see how hurt he is because they did not told him the whole matter. It was the first time when he was seeing something like that in Virat's  eyes for what they did to him. Samrat has never see his brother so broken because of him. Samrat could not speak anything. He thought that he has already hurted his brother and now he cannot brake him anymore.

Samrat find himself responsible for Sai getting married to that Vir guy. He thought that if he had not pushed sai and bugged her to move on and get married, than she would have not taken such a big step. He held him responsible for running his brother's life, twice.

Pakhi saw that samrat was silent so she decided to answer Virat's questions.

Pakhi: Virat, humne tumhe yaha aane se isseliye nahi roka kyuki hum jante hai ki tum dono ek dusare ke bina nahi reh sakte. Hume pata hai ki sai jo kar rahi hai vo srif apne dard ko kam karne ke liye kar rahi hai. Please tum iss baat ko samjho...

She was cut in half as Virat spoke not believing that they both still think that she still loves him even if she is getting married to some one else.

Virat: Kya samjhu mein Pakhi? Ki vo yeh shaadi nahi karna chahati? Kya vo uske naye hone wale pati se kush nahi hai? Kya aaisa nahi hai ki vo mujhe bhul chuki hai or ab apni zindagi mein aage badhna chahti hai? Meine apne haaton se apne uss rishte ka daam ghota tha. Meine jo bhi kiya, uki bas mujhe saja mil rahi hai. Mein nahi chata ki ek baar phir se meri wajha se Sai apne  naye hone wale parivaar se aur apni kushiyan se alag ho. Mein usse wapas apni zindagi mein nahi laonga.

The words coming out from Virat were hurting him like he have himself stabbed his heart with a hot and burning knife. The pain in his heart was unbearable. He dont want Sai to loose her happiness once again. He thought that him getting back in Sai's life will only create more problems in her life. He thought that he will never do anything which will hurt his Sai more, even if that means that he have to live with only the memories of Sai and also knowing that he could have had a great future with her if he had not made some terrible choices in his life. He thought he had only have regret, sadness and few happy memories with Sai to live with his entire life. The tears were non stopping flowing from his eyes. He could never have even imagined that this day would come on which he will agree to stay away from Sai and will see her getting married to some one else.

Both Samrat and Pakhi were left with no words after Virat's stupid and hurting statement. They could never thought that Virat could behave this way. They have thought that he will listen to them and will fight for Sai but he is willing to give up that soon. They both knew that neither him nor Sai will be happy without each other. They could see in Virat's big tired and red eyes that how much he is hurt.

Samrat: Yeh kya bol raha hai tu ? Tujhe kuch nahi pata hai ki in beete saalo mein sai ne tujhe kitna miss kiya hai! tu itni jaldi haar nahi maan sakta. Tu apne Sai ko wapas lane ke liye lad toh sahi. Mujhe pata hai ki sai aaj bhi kahi na khi tujhse pyaar karti hai. Tu apne pyaar ko kisi or ka hote hue kaise dekh sakta hai?

Virat: meine hi uss pyaar ko hurt kiya hai. Mujhe yahi saja milni chahiye. Mein usko kush dekhna chahata hu or agar uski kushi kisi or ke saath hai toh vo bhi sahi. Mein use rokunga nahi.

Pakhi: Virat tum pagal mat bano. Mein nahi janti ki tumhare dimag mein kya chal raha hai par mujhe itna pata hai ki yeh decision tumhare or sai dono ke liye ek bahut badi galti hai bas. Tum hamari baat kyu nahi maan rahe ho?

Virat: bas. Please Pakhi mujhe pata hai ki tum dono ko meri chinta hai par ab mein or kuch nahi sunna chahata. Mein use wapas apne saath nahi laonga. Mein usko phir se aur koi dukh nahi dena chahata. Mujhe thodi taazi hawa ki zarurat hai. Mein bahar ja raha hu. Meri chinta mat karnaa... Mein aa jaonga wapas...

Samrat: Virat sun toh...

Before Samrat could stop him, he went away. Not knowing where to go he just kept walking. He is hurt and broken. In the past two weeks he was the happiest soul on the earth as he excepted his sai to be back but now he is all broken again.

It's now evening and he was still walking all depressed and sad. Where ever he goes he saw beautiful couples spending precious time with each other and that makes him more sad and he feels more guilty. He finally reached the bench in isolation. There was no people around and it was in front of a beautiful lake. He sat on that bench to take some rest. He was all exhausted and tried. His head hurt because of constant crying and his tears have all dried up. There was no more tears left to fall down his cheeks. He closed his eyes. He can feels the burning inside the eyelids. Suddenly the person sitting beside him called his name. He opened his eyes and turns towards the side to see that person. He got the ultimate shock of his life. His eyes goes wide in astonishment and his heart felt like he has find the peace and happiness he was searching for.
