The Ruan and Qin families were long time friends and the waters of the entertainment industry were very deep. When Lin JingFei asked for Qin Jue’s help, it did not seem as though anything was wrong… At least that was what Qin Jue and his group of friends thought.

After signing, Lin JingFei would use all sorts of reasons to directly go above Jiang AnZheng and would phone Qin Jue for help.

For example, during the auditions when the director was being a bit inappropriate, whenever the film crew hinted at the unspoken rules during dinners, or when the senior actors tried to suppress her.

The number of reasons was endless and the final result was that Lin QingFei was able to fly under Qin Jue’s protection. Not only, were there no negative news at all but her ambiguous relationship with Qin Jue also became an open “secret” of the entertainment circle.

And now, the two people had gone onto the trending topics again.

It was mostly Lin QingFei deliberately stirring things up, but the most unsolvable contradiction between them was not Qin Jue. It was the Lin family that did not want Ruan ZhiYin to marry into the Qin family.

The marriage between the Qin and Ruan family, but the groom ran off to see his ex-girlfriend on the day of the wedding. Even if the wedding was postponed, in the eyes of outsiders, this was just a “yielding” due to pressure.

Ruan ZhiYin could already imagine, after today, the number of rumours the Ruan family would face.

She could not hopelessly watch as the Ruan family’s name fell into the dirt. Grandfather’s body could not stand receiving such a shock!

With that thought, she raised her eyes to look at Kang Yu. “The wedding will not be postponed, you should go and prepare.”

She had a good temper and these years, she seldom got angry. But Grandfather’s body was steadily deteriorating and the Lin Family’s lack of care about Grandfather’s health had thoroughly provoked her.

Ruan ZhiYin’s voice was calm. After Kang Yu received her words, she quickly reacted and nodded before leaving.

As for Zhao He who had followed her in. She no longer looked at Ruan ZhiYin in the same deliberate fawning way. It was now tinged with a bit of disdain and a look of expectation to see a great show.

“When Lin JingFei entered the hospital last night, Qin Jue left that very night for BeiYao. I have already received these photos. They were most likely released by Lin JingFei.”

Ruan ZhiYin then explained the photos to her best friend.

When Gu LinLang heard this, she was so angry her chest heaved: “Is Lin JingFei insane? She and Qin Jue have broken up for eight hundred years already. Why is she doing this right before your wedding?”

“Lin Cheng does not want me to marry into the Qin Family. When Grandfather gave me the stocks, at that time, Lin JingFei already developed a grudge. Maybe she did this under Lin Cheng’s instructions, or maybe she simply wanted to drag my reputation through the mud and turn me into a laughing stock.

Even though Ruan ZhiYin and Lin JingFei were related by blood, they were not cousins who had a deep affection for each other.

In Lin JingFei’s heart, Ruan ZhiYin was an intruder in her life. And in Ruan ZhiYin’s eyes, the actions of the Lin Family and Lin JingFei was the sole reason for their estrangement. She could not return good for evil and the Lin Family would not easily let her forgive them.

Gu LinLang raised her eyes to look at her and asked, “Are you not angry?”

“Angry?”, Ruan ZhiYin was silent for a moment. Then she lightly laughed. “Before you stormed in, I just told Qin Jue that I wanted to cancel the engagement.”

Gu LinLang became speechless. She could not believe what she had just heard.

No one could be more clear about the feelings Ruan ZhiYin had for Qin Jue. But she also understood that after Ruan ZhiYin decided on something, it was unlikely to change.

After a long time, she sighed and shook her head. “Qin Jue, this time you really reaped what you sowed.”

As a friend for over twenty years, she still felt distressed for Ruan ZhiYin’s dedication to Qin Jue.

Lin JingFei and Qin Jue broke up not long after they started dating when Lin JingFei suggested it.

After being hurt, Qin Jue silently went abroad and went to the school that Ruan ZhiYin had applied to.

During the second year after Ruan ZhiYin had gone abroad, she accepted Qin Jue’s pursuit. Gu LinLang knew that their feelings for each other were very good when they were abroad. Even though Qin Jue and had cut off relations with the Qin Family, Ruan ZhiiYin did not care about the struggles and accompanied him.

No one knew how much effort Ruan ZhiYin had invested for the founding of Qin Jue’s start-up to when it went public.

She had refused the recommendation of her professor to continue her studies and had chosen to not return to the country. But instead, she gave Qin Jue all her savings and accompanied him through the most difficult times.

He was once a son of heaven, but when he had initially looked for investors, he had run into many closed doors. Qin Jue could not accept lowering his head and could not put down his pride and his success could be attributed to Ruan ZhiYin’s hard work in mediating the situation.

During this period, the company also suffered a terrible blow and fell to a new low. Everyone thought that Qin Jue had failed in his bet against the Qin Family. Only Ruan ZhiYin had continued to accompany and support him.

Gu LinLang had thought the two would continue on this path together. She could still remember Ruan ZhiYin’s glowing eyes on New Year’s eve- “LinLang, Qin Jue proposed to me. He said we will get married when we come back.”

Gu LinLang understood the reason for Ruan ZhiYin’s happiness.

Qin Jue had not proposed due to the marriage contract between the two of them. It was instead because he truly loved her and wanted to marry her. To Ruan ZhiYin, this was the family that she had always wished for.

But life is unpredictable. After the two returned home. Lin JingFei repeatedly used the feelings from being childhood sweethearts to continuously stir trouble. As for how Qin Jue had handled it, even Gu LinLang couldn’t bear to watch.

But Ruan ZhiYin only calmly watched on.

She seemed to be considerate and have a good temper, but once such a person gives up, they would never look back.

“LinLang, no one’s heart will just die so suddenly. You don’t have to worry about me. Even though they say the heart is like water, I am not as sad as you are imagining.”

Ruan ZhiYin comforted Gu LinLang with a smile.

She did not regret making this decision. Giving up on this relationship was not disappointing and frustrating. Instead, she was relieved.

She didn’t doubt Ruan ZhiYin’s decision to cancel the wedding. But, Ruan ZhiYin just said that the wedding would not be postponed.

“The wedding definitely cannot be postponed. Grandfather’s body cannot accept such a shock. Originally I wanted to cancel it, but since Lin JingFei wants to drag my reputation through the mud-” Ruan ZhiYin suddenly paused and her eyelashes trembled.

“Then, I can only change out the groom.”
