‼️This chapter isn't based on the Iowa vs UConn game okay? I just chose Iowa to be the team they are playing against for the plot, so I basically changed everything. Also, im terrible at basketball LOL I love watching it but I don't understand it much, I only know the basic (and I also don't know how to play) so that's why this chapter isn't really focused on the game. Annie's pov:

"I CAN'T FIND MY MASCARA" Sarah yelled from the bathroom as we were getting ready for the game, It was 2pm and we needed to be there by 3pm but the game didn't started until 4pm "It's probably in my bag, you always put your stuff in there" I told Sarah as I fixed my hair, half up half down with littlr braids running down the lengths "Found it, thanks" I went into the bathroom to start my makeup with Sarah, of course our playlist was playing in the background "are you excited for the game?" Sarah asked as I started my skincare routine before makeup "Yes! I can't belive we got this far with a college project" I said "Our final project is going to be sick" Sarah said finishing her makeup and starting her hair in the other part of the room "right? But im so excited to see the girls play, I've never been to a game" "What? Are you kidding? You're going to love it" Sarah walked back to the bathroom door shocked "Especially because your girl is playing" She said in a teasing tone looking at me from the mirror, I rolled my eyes, feeling nervous about seeing Paige again, I will never get used to this I guess "Stop it" I laughed and went back to my makeup, then someone knocked on the door "Wait a minute" I yelled from the bathroom and walked to the door with my makeup half done, when I opened the door she was there, Paige, her hair in her signature hairstyle, she was in basketball shorts and a UCONN t-shirt, probably waiting to put on her game jersey "Hi P, good morning" I said from the door smiling at her, she just makes me happy "Hi babe, good morning" "Do you want to come in? We're getting ready for the game" I made room for her "Sure" Paige walked into the room "I just stopped by to see you" Paige kissed my lips holding my waist pulling me closer I just leaned into her deepening the kiss "Ummm guys, don't forget im still here" Sarah sundenlly said "Oh, hi Cameron" Paige said still holding my waist "Hey Bueckers" Sarah replied while curling her hair "Anyway, I wanted to give you this" Paige handed me a small bag, I opened and there was a blue UCONN jersey with the number #5, Paige Bueckers, I blushed "Aw thank you P, that's so sweet, I'm definitely going to wear it today!" I hugged Paige and kissed her "Can't wait to see you in my jersey" Paige said in my ear making my face turn red "I have to go now, im already late, bye Sarah" Paige said and I followed her to the door. "Bye my love, see you at the game" "Bye gorgeous, make sure to get my good side in the photos okay?" Paige winked at me playfully and kised me, I rolled my eyes but was still smiling "Don't worry about it" I said and Paige walked out of the room "changing plans Sah, im wearing Paige's jersey, but we can still match the colors" I said turning to Sarah "You two are so clingy, oh my god" Sarah said jokingly.

Me and Sarah arrived at the court, the midia crew was there, Iowa photographers, coaches, and of course the players, some of them were warming up, others were in the locker room... Me and Sarah started to organize our things, I was wearing Paige's jersey, part of the jersey tied into my jeans skirt and a black long sleeve shirt underneath, my black thigh high boots on my feets. "What are you going to wear on your date?" Sarah asked me as we sat on the court benches "I think im going to wear that new black dress, you know?" I told her "I loved, you're going to look perfect" She said wrapping her arm around mine and laying her head on my shoulder "Im nervous" I admitted to Sarah "that's okay An, it's normal to be nervous on a first date, but remember its just Paige it will be fun" "Yeah, I know" Sarah is always there for me, im forever grateful for her "Just don't get lost in those silly thoughts alright? Just feel the feelings, let your heart speak a little louder" Sarah said and I hugged her from the side "I love you" "I love you An", we just sat there taking pictures of us and making tiktoks.

The players started to enter the court for warm up, and I finally saw the blonde girl I was waiting to see, looking at me with that smirk on her face that make my heart race everytime, Paige approached me and gently took my hand "Hi pretty" Paige said "Hi P" I giggle at the way she was cheking my outfit, Paige got close to my ear "I knew you would look beautiful in my jersey" I blushed and hid my face on her neck Paige pulled me closer hugging me and leaving discreet and small kisses on my neck, we separated and Paige looked at the camera on the benche "Can I?" She asked pointing to the camera "Sure...Let's see if you're really good at everything" I smiled and handed Paige the camera. Paige was taking a bunch of random photos it was so cute, something about seeing Paige doing the thing I've loved doing for as long as I can remember shifted something in my head, a feeling that I am doing the right thing, that I am with the right person "Bueckers, stop bothering Annie and get back here" Geno yelled from across the court, telling Paige to get back warming up, I laughed at her and she handed me the camera back laughing "See you at our date after the game babe" She said quickly and ran back to the team, I stood there giggling like an idiot. "Are you in love?" Sarah asked me "Yes" I aswered without thinking twice.

The Iowa girls were already on the court, I started to take some pictures of the warm up, my eyes always mt with Paige's and we shared a few smiles. A dark haired girl from the Iowa team was staring at me, she seemed nice but the looks were weird, I sat down for a bit on the bench because the game was about to start "Clark was staring at you, did you notice?" Sarah asked sitting next to me "Yeah... weird, but I don't think it was intentional" I replied looking at the photos I had already taken "Paige should keep an eye open" Sarah laughed and I looked at her "What? Why?" "She was kind of checking you out" Sarah said "She wasn't Sarah, and even if she was, I want Paige and she doesn't have to worry about anyone" I said to Sarah and she arched an eyebrow "You better tell Clark then..." Sarah laughed.

The girls walked onto the court, the crowd cheered for them, and the energy was high, my heart was racing when Paige walked onto the court and looked at me, today was a huge game for the team and being there for my friends after seeing them work so hard for this game was meant a lot to me.

The game started, and Iowa was only 5 points behind UCONN, but something was bothering me, Caitlin Clark, she seemed to be staring at me the entire game, I told myself I was overthinking it and she wasn't staring at me, but it was starting to get hard to convince myself, every time she walked by me she would give me a look that I couldn't decipher, I just ignored and kept doing my job. Timeout came and the girls came to the bench, UCONN was still winning the game "You guys are doing great, keep it up" Geno said to the girls, I approached the bench where they were sitting "Good job girls" I said "Thanks An" they replied me, I sat now next to Paige, she had a closed face, I couldn't tell what was going through her head "Are you good P?" Paige looked at me and changed her face "Yeah...Better now with you" She smirked "You're impossible" I laughed, and the break ended. The game started again with UCONN winning over Iowa, at this point secured the victory, Nika passed the ball to KK, who made soem dibbles and passed to Paige who was next to the basket, Paige ended the last minutes of the game by making a three point basket and UCONN won the game.

The girls jumping, hugging each other and celebrating the victory, after a moment Sarah and I went to hug and congratulate them, I hugged Nika first "Oh my god congratulations, you played so well Niks!" I hugged her tighter "Thank you An", the next was KK,Azzi, Ice, Aubrey and all the girls on the team, then finally my eyes meet with her's, Paige looked at me and I ran to her, I hugged her like there was no tomorrow I wish I could kiss her "Im so happy for you baby" I said to her, my arms around her neck and her hands resting on my waist, at this point we didn't care about the people watching us "Thanks beautiful, I had to impress the pretty girl watching me right?" She winked at me, and I was blushing and smiling "You deserve it Paige, you worked hard for this! Im so proud of you my love" Paige looked at me, and looked to our side to see if anyone was looking at us, then she kissed me quickly but it was a kiss that spoke a many words, I couldn't be happier.

"Y'ALL NEED A PICTURE" Sarah yelled on the entire court, the girls got into position with the trophy and Sarah and I did what we do best.

After the photos and a few intreviews Paige went to the locker room and I waited for her on the almost empty court, we still had to get ready for our date, Sarah was talking to KK on the other side of the court and I was sitting on the benches using my cell phone, suddenly a voice spoke to me "Um hey" I looked up and it was Caitlin Clark, looking at me, I got up from the bench and congratulated her "Oh hi, caitlin right? Im Annie, you played great tonight" I said politely "oh thanks...I was just wondering what your social midia is, you're really pretty" she said a little nervously, I was wearing Paige's jersey, I thought it was kind of obvious that something was going on between us, so tobme it was just a friendly request, "Um, sure it's-"

Paige's pov:

I left the locker room with Nika to meet Annie on the court "Nika I swear she was looking at Annie the whole game" I said to Nika talking about Clark, we are old friends but she hadn't stopped staring at Annie tonight, I was getting pissed "That's why you need to make things oficial btween you two as soon as possible" Nika said as we walked onte the court "Im gonna do it, don't worry" Then I looked across the court, Clark was talking to Annie "Ohh, you better go get your girl twin" Nika said and I went.

I aprochedd behind Annie with my hand on her back "What's up Clark?" I said, Annie's body tensed a little at my touch "Hey Bueckers" I pulled Annie closer, and Caitlin's face changed at the same time "Ohh...are you two...?" Caitlin said and I nodded "Oh my god, Im sorry, I didn't know, I swear" She said "Don't worry" Annie said lauging gently "We can still be friends, here are my socials" Annie is so kind and sweet, that's what makes me fall in love with her, but at this moment I wish she was rude and curt, I stood behind her while we were talked to Caitlin, I missed her she is a good friend that I haven't seen in a long time, but seeing her trying to flirt with Annie didn't make me happy. Caitlin left and now it was just me and Annie in a almost empty court "What?" Annie smiled at me, her hands caressing my arms and my hands on her waist, seeing her in my jersey was doing things to me, the way she was just smiling innocently at me was just so... "You look so beautiful in my jersey" I said to her "Thanks" she giggled and blushed "But why do you have that face,hum?" Annie looked at me again "What face?" I asked her, knowing damn well what she was talking about "That face like you're about to kill Caitlin" I couldn't pretend that I wasn't jealous "I don't know...it's just" I said still trying to keep my composure "didn't she saw you in my jersey? I thought it was kind of obvious that we are...you know" I ended up giving up and Annie smiled at me putting her arms around my neck "Paige don't worry about her, remember who im going on a date with tonight?" Me, Annie was going on a date with me, how could I be so selfish, she was just being polite and talkin to Caitlin, all the jealousy left my body and I focused on the girl who had her arms wrapped around me, I gave her a sweet kiss on her lips "We should probably go then...we have a date, right?" I said to her, I was about to take a big step in my life, in our relationship, I was nervous, anxious, happy, but I knew I would be with Annie all night, it made me relax "Yes, I can't wait" Annie said holding my hand, guiding me off the court "But you know...Caitlin seems nice, how did you meet her?" Annie said looking at me as we walked off the court with ou hands intertwined "We played together when we were younger on the USA team" "So she is an old friend?" She said "Yeah, Caitlin is a old friend actually" "You and her played very well tonight" Annie said and I looked at her with a teasing smirk "C'mon you don't have to lie, I played better" I joked "Humm, I don't know..." Annie said in a very teasing tone and we kept talking and teasing each other until the parking lot where we both made our ways to the hotel rooms to start getting ready for our date, finally.

We're about 4 chapters away from the end 😭 I'm not ready to let go of this book.

I'm sorry if the game part was really bad, like I said I'm not very good at basketball (which is kind of ironic because I watch a lot of games lol)

I'll be posting a 'social media chapter' today too so keep an eye out.
