Chapter 56 : "Well, teach me then."
***************************************
"It's my turn to use it, Oreo." Aaron said, looking at me expectantly as he pulled his hand towards me.
I rolled my eyes, not bothering to glance at him as I replied, "There's no turns in using the remote Aaron, don't be stupid."
"You should listen to what your guest says." Aaron replied.
"You're not a guest and you know that." I said back, looking at Aaron.
Aaron grinned at me, "You think I'm family now? Oh godness, this girl's in love with me."
I rolled my eyes and laughed, slapping Aaron lightly on his biceps, "Shut up."
If only he knew that I am in love with him. Which explains why I called him and told him to come over as soon as I heard about his mom's operation.
She's going to have a surgery, that's what was eventually decided, and it takes place about four hours away from here so, I convinced Aaron not to go, but to come here instead.
I feel like it would be too hard for Aaron to stay there for hours, all alone. He also told me that his mom practically persuaded him to not be there, and promised to call him as soon as her operation's finished. I'm just glad she's being positive about it.
Crazy how she changed the moment she felt as though she might lose her life. It's shitty that it took her losing her life to realize that her sons need her. But atleast she did try. And I hope she'll be okay.
Aaron thankfully agreed to come over for the day, my parents are working late anyways, and they know about Aaron's situation so they felt compassionate enough to allow him to spend the day with me here.
The entire past week has been hectic honestly, everything happened so fast and at once. Aaron's mom's surgery and Tuesday's fight were so unexpected.
When I went back to the office after I'd ran to the bathroom, and had a bad anxiety attack, I found the four kids who came onto me actually speaking the truth. That easily.
I was relieved in a way because I learned that none of the other students knew about the assault, but still disappointed because not only our principal knew at that point but so did Ethan and Joey.
They explained to us all that Brad had paid them to do that, but they apparently had no idea about the real story, it's just what he asked them to say.
They were suspended for two days, and so was Brad. I didn't see him but Aaron found out from someone and told me. The mere thought of that smug look he had on his face as we walked to the principal's office makes me wanna throw up. I wish I could stop seeing him forever.
Aaron, Joey, and Ethan just had detention, because apparently they should've called a teacher instead of acting out on their own. Bullshit.
The girls apologized to me, but I still felt disgusted. Who does that for money?
But most importantly, I can't believe that after all of this, Brad is still going after me and messing with me like that. Hasn't he already done enough damage?
Aaron told me that a girl saw them cornering me like that from afar and knew something was up. Since almost everyone in school knows we're friends, she found Aaron, Ethan, and Joey already standing together and immediately called for their help. I thanked her later.
Later on that day, when everybody was questioning what happened, I told Aaron that I have no problem telling them. They're my closest friends at the end of the day.
So we sat down, and told them everything that
led up to here.
Rose cried, and Laurel was mad at herself for not noticing sooner, I assured them that there was nothing they could've done. I truly didn't want anyone to know earlier. Steve wanted to beat the shit out of Brad, and Nathan gave me a hug. But we all calmed down at the end.
"Why don't we go outside, the weather's amazing." Aaron said to me and I nodded, lowkey excited because something about having a nice weather and Aaron is just pleasing.
I'm also secretly hoping that being outside would get Aaron to cuddle with me if I pretend I'm so cold.
"We should catch up on things." I told Aaron as we made our way upstairs to my room to get some blankets and pillows, because we decided to build a little fort outside.
"What things?" Aaron smirked at me, winking afterwards and I groaned.
"Stop, I meant school stuff!" I replied.
"Well, teach me then." Aaron said seductively again and I stopped in the middle of the stairs, Aaron stopping with me.
"I'm going to kill you." I threatened and Aaron laughed walking upstairs again.
"Okay, I'm sorry, I'm kidding!" Aaron exclaimed and I followed him, shaking my head.
When we got to my room, we got all the things we needed for the fort, along with some books, and then we got food from the kitchen and went outside.
No matter how hard we tried, the fort thing wouldn't work.
We settled by the end with just throwing the blankets and pillows around randomly along with some chocolate and our books.
It was pretty relaxing and pretty chilly, we'd put on our jackets and then got out.
Aaron and I started studying and catching up on stuff which was pretty boring and always took a long time, because we get distracted super easily.
About half an hour later, I started whining over and over again and decided to just check my phone.
Aaron rolled his eyes but ended up going on his phone too, just for a little break.
I randomly came across this app I had that recorded my phone calls automatically. I completely forgot I had it, I think I used it when I was with Colton multiple times, and Rose uses it too. Just in case we need to show each other any phone conversations we had.
I chuckled as I aimlessly went through it and realized the person that called me the most recently had been Aaron.
I laughed as I showed Aaron the app, "I'll pick one of our phone calls randomly, okay?"
Aaron laughed and nodded, and I just scrolled through our phone calls until my finger landed on a random one and I clicked on it.
Aaron and I listened closely, waiting anxiously to see what useless conversation we were having.
A boring "Hello." sound came out of me.
"Hey, Oreo, I didn't wake you up, did I?" Aaron's voice came out.
"No, I can't sleep." I'd replied and upon hearing that, Aaron and I immediately caught each other's eyes. This phone call was the one we shared after that whole incident with the prick Brad.
I chuckled awkwardly, and fast forwarded to the middle of the audio, and Aaron and I laughed at us discussing theories in the middle of everything.
Aaron suddenly stared off for a couple of seconds and then he nervously told me to stop the audio from playing.
I was lowkey having fun listening to this, and only three minutes were left.
"No, I want to see when did I fall asleep!" I exclaimed and Aaron literally grabbed my phone away from my hand and stopped the audio.
"Aaron, are you kidding me? Stop!" I said in confusion and leaned forward to grab my phone again.
"Let's just finish studying." Aaron replied and I glared at him.
"Give me my phone." I said and Aaron huffed and gave it back.
"What is it you don't want me hearing, I don't get it." I replied in annoyance and managed to play the audio yet again.
Aaron didn't respond so I just continued listening in silence.
Until.
"... and so I thought that was fun, don't you think?" Aaron was saying, and I didn't reply.
"Hello?" Aaron said again, but again I wasn't replying.
This was probably when I accidentally fell asleep.
"Are you okay, Oreo?" Aaron went on saying and my heart did a little something at that part. He's so cute.
I glanced at Aaron, still not understanding what's his problem, but he was just staring ahead with a bored expression on his face.
"You fell asleep." Aaron's sound then chuckled and received nothing back but my slow breaths.
"You're the best thing that has ever happened to me, Oreo." Aaron had said and when I heard that, I widened my eyes and looked at Aaron, who was sitting directly next to me, staring at me now with a honest expression.
"I like you alot, more than I should. How can I not? I will get Brad for you, I will. Goodnight Oreo." Aaron's voice said at last and the audio stopped.
My heart was beating so fast, I was sure it could burst out of my chest at any moment now. This is so crazy and it's for sure the most unexpected thing ever. I never saw this coming.
Aaron likes me? And he has, since that time? I can't even find the words right now.
"Wha-" I said, my emotions all over the place.
"So there is it." Aaron replied, staring so intensely at me.
I didn't respond, I only bit my lip to stop the overwhelming emotions. I was happy, speechless, confused, and I felt like crying.
"I have feelings for you Ellie, okay?" Aaron said, "and I'm so sorry if you don't feel the same way, I never intended for you to find out like that," Aaron was still speaking but all I heard was the first sentence he said.
I have feelings for you Ellie, okay?
"...That day, I just randomly said that, and didn't think anything of it, you were asleep, fuck I'm a creep, I don't know why I said that." Aaron ran his hand through his hair and looked away from me.
The amount of happiness that consumed me overpowered all of my senses, and all I found myself doing was turning Aaron's head away from the ground and towards me, and actually saying it out loud.
Aaron was staring at me, emotions swirling through his eyes, my hand still resting on his chin.
"I have feelings for you too." I muttered, smiling a little.
Aaron gasped a little and then he smiled.
"I can't believe this." Aaron said, a grin taking over his face.
The wind was blowing past us, "Me either."
Aaron didn't say anything, but we just stared silently at each other, with stupid grins on our faces.
There was alot that I needed to say, and I knew Aaron did too. But in a moment like this, somehow, words aren't enough. We needed something more. I needed to be closer to him. I needed to kiss him, and tell him everything through that kiss.
I wasted no time in glancing at Aaron's lips and then leaned forward and so did Aaron.
Everything that's happening feels sensational, Aaron and I were very slowly leaning towards one another, not rushing, but not slowing down either, the electricity between us magnifying.
We left the words unspoken but pulled ourselves closer to each other. Aaron finally placed his lips on mine, and I nearly lost my mind.
All the times Aaron stood by my side, all the flirting, the inside jokes, all the phone calls, all the hangouts, the gifts, all the times we nearly kissed and everything in between poured out of us in this kiss.
The kiss was slow, and soft. Aaron's lips guided my own, and he captured my upper lip as he caressed the side of my face.
The amount of feelings I was feeling were beyond indescribable, how can someone arise all these emotions in me in a couple of moments? I felt safety and relief and joy. Aaron's kiss felt like his way of showing me how much he cares about me, how gentle he is when it comes to me, and through this kiss, I felt it all without him explaining.
I ran my hand through Aaron's hair, which is something I've been wanting to do since forever, and deepend the kiss.
Damn, it feels like I've never really known what kissing is actually like, until now.
The butterflies erupting in my stomach didn't make a move to settle down, even when we pulled away from the kiss and rested our foreheads against one another.
Aaron's hand was still caressing my face, and after we'd both caught our breath, we pulled back just a little bit, only small inches separating us.
I smiled, and tried to keep in my tears, because crying right now would be embarrassing.
"I've always had feelings for you, Oreo, this was amazing." Aaron whispered and I chuckled, not believing I'm having this conversation with Aaron right now.
"Indeed." I muttered back, and Aaron smiled as he pulled my head on his chest.
I wrapped my arms around Aaron's torso, and we just sat in silence, letting our feelings roam around with the wind, as we held each other close.
If I could be stuck in this moment forever, I wouldn't mind. I had never felt anything like this before, this was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me too, y'know?" I was never someone good with letting out how I feel, because often I don't know how to express myself. But with Aaron, I don't know how I get this courage. I feel like he brings that out of me.
Aaron didn't respond, he just kissed the top of my head, and that was the best reply I could get.
"Can you stay tonight?" I whispered, against Aaron's chest, listening closely to his heartbeat.
"Always." Aaron replied.

So there you have it folks! The moment we've all been waiting for. I hope it lived up to your expectations. I know we'd all be happier if they shared their first kiss under the rain, but Ellie and Aaron are happy together wherever the heck they are.
I love you guys, so much:')) xx ~Sania
