Chapter 57 : How am I getting out of this one?

***************************************

I woke up alone in my bed. Aaron had stayed over the night, we slept happily next to each other. When I woke up, I found a text from Aaron informing me that he's going to the hospital to see his mom, and that he's taking Mason with him.

I called him and made him assure me that he'll call us as soon as he gets there and checks up on everything.

I don't know whether or not we're going to visit his mom after school, but for now we have tests to do.

I went into class grunting. Nervous about Aaron's mom, but also going crazy over the kiss.

I kissed Aaron. And then spent the night in his arms. Something about that just doesn't feel real, it's all too surreal.

Maybe it would've been better if it took place in a better circumstance but I couldn't help but feel extreme happiness, and I feel like an asshole because Aaron's mom was probably having one of the worst days of her life, and we were just kissing and cuddling.

Aaron Owens does that. Makes you go crazy.

I was almost finished with my test, when my phone so embarrassingly rang in the middle of class. Fuck, I'm gonna get in trouble.

Not gonna lie, I purposely didn't mute my ringtone because I knew Aaron would call any moment to inform me about his mom, but still, I didn't think he'd actually call this early.

I dropped my pen and awkwardly gazed at my paper, trying to pretend as though it's not my phone.

Ethan knew it was mine though, and he widened his eyes at me before laughing quietly to himself from across the room.

The teacher seemed to know it was mine, as she walked up next to my table and asked, "Is that your phone ringing, Miss Rosell?"

There is no point in denying it. Everyone was staring at me.

My phone finally stopped ringing, but it was too late, I muttered an awkward "Yeah.." at my teacher and cleared my throat.

"You couldn't turn your phone off during your test?" She responded, emphasizing the word 'test'.

How am I getting out of this one?

"I'm very very sorry, it's a very important phone call, I had to keep it loud." I whispered, for the sake of others solving the exam.

"You may leave class now." The freaking witch responded, picking up my test paper and walking away.

I huffed in annoyance, grabbing all of my things, and walking out the door.

Eh, I was already almost finished with the test.

I instantly called Aaron back, waiting for him to pick up in anticipation.

"Hi, Oreo." Aaron's voice cheerily picked up, and my heart fluttered.

I love his voice.

"Besides the fact that I was kicked out of class because of you, how's everything!" I said excitingly. Something tells me it's all good news.

"Everything is very okay, Ellie. She's fine now." Aaron said and I smiled so big, I thought my face would break off.

"Thank god," I replied happily, "I'm so relieved, this is amazing."

"Yeah, it's finally over." Aaron responded and I just smiled to myself.

"So how was the test?" Aaron added and I glared at the classroom door.

"Absolute shit, when you called the first time, I was taking it, and then I was kicked out of class!" I said a little too cheerily, in a sarcastic manner.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Aaron chuckled.

"It's fine, I don't care, you're more important." I said, staring at a few kids at the end of the hallway, and wondering if my anxiety would allow me to ask the girl about her jeans.

"I want to kiss you again." Aaron replied, and I gasped a little, not expecting him to say that.

"Me too." I whispered, getting the butterflies and a tingle on my lips just from thinking about our first kiss.

I had waited so much for that kiss that nothing in the world compares to it.

I made a plan to tell Laurel and Rose over lunch, they'll kill me if I hide it from them.

"So then, I'll see you tomorrow?" Aaron said, referring to our plans of tomorrow with everyone else.

"You will." I replied cheekily and Aaron laughed.

"Goodbye Oreo." Aaron said and we hung up.

"Okay Joey, truth or dare?" I asked Joey, after the bottle landed on him.

"Truth." Joey shrugged.

I smiled at Aaron who was sitting close to me to my right, and he raised his brows at me, waiting for my question to Joey.

"Did any of you guys actually know who I am, before y'know, actually getting to know me?" I asked. The question was strange, but it has been on my mind forever. I have a feeling that Aaron knew who I was the day I went into his car.

Joey chuckled and glanced at Aaron uneasily, and I shifted my attention to Aaron who remained silent, and just continued glancing quietly at Joey.

"Well?" I went on to say.

"Maybe you should just tell her the truth." Ethan said grinning and my attention diverted towards him.

"What truth?" I asked and noticed that even Laurel is looking awkward, as though she might know something.

"Come on." Ethan teased Aaron, but Aaron seemed to be actually upset.

"Stop Ethan." Aaron said to Ethan, glaring at him.

"I mean, we've all known your name, but that's because we take classes with you and stuff." Joey said and I nodded, not believing a word he's saying. There is more to it, and I want to know.

Ethan however, just didn't want to let it go. "I will tell you."

"Why the fuck are you doing this?" Aaron finally snapped, a little loudly, silencing us all.

"Chill! I'm doing you a favor." Ethan replied, getting worked up a little.

"Yeah well, I don't need you to, just stay out of it." Aaron responded and the whole table went into an awkward silence.

"May I get you anything?" The waitress suddenly showed up.

"Just the check, please." Nathan said and the waitress nodded and headed away.

Rose and I were stealing glances at each other, wondering what's going on.

"Maybe if you just tell her that-" Ethan so stupidly said, yet again, and Aaron was having enough of it.

"I thought y'all came here to check up on me, not fucking embarrass me and ruin my day." Aaron said, getting pretty angry, which I thought was extremely dramatic and unnecessary.

"Don't bring us all to it!" Steve exclaimed but Aaron just shook his head, grabbed his keys, and left.

"What the fuck?" I muttered in surprise.

We all called out for Aaron, but he just wouldn't turn around.

How did this go from me asking a simple question to Aaron storming out in anger?

"I'll go get him." I said and didn't give the guys a chance to respond as I stormed off too, hoping to catch up with Aaron and get a good explanation on whatever the hell is going on.
