Arc 1 chapter 10 : The offer from the chosen one himself

All four of us now enjoyed the lunch in peace, before we could sense a heavy aura at the restaurant entrance

Even so, it wasn't threatening. It was rather calm and filled the whole place with warmth

That's when I heard a teasing voice, a very familiar one

"Wow Dani. . . You really having fun with my lil sis huh? " A voice sounds behind me

When I turned my head, I see him in his yellow clothes like those nobles knight will wear in fantasy world with his white pants and white coat

Honestly, his clothes somehow made him looks like he's the main character

"Well, there he is. . . The main character of this universe had finally come back home" I said deadpanly

"Haha, I'm not the main character Dani. I'm the chosen one. Don't glaze me that much" Syed correct me gently

"It's the same thing. . . And what did you mean by 'having fun'? We're always like this"

"Oh yeah? Well, I didn't see what you and my lil sis did earlier, but I got a feeling something romantic just happened" Syed tease me softly

". . . I don't think so"

Suddenly, all of us could felt cold aura comes from Suraya. As if she embarrassed at something

"B-Bestie, please calm down! " Farah immediately try to calm her down

"Please don't freeze this whole place! " Adam immediately shouted in fear out of reflex

She didn't said anything, but the tension had calm down slowly

"Huff. . . You guys worried too much, I'm not a child anymore" She said calmly

"We're worried for a good reason! You're about to freeze this whole place up! " Adam said it in mock anger

I didn't said much, after all I don't know what could possibly made her that embarrassed

That's why I slowly raised my hand and softly caressed her hair to calm her down

"W-Wha-"

"Thought this would calm you down" I said calmly

". . . Not like this, Dani"

Although she said it like that, she just looked down while her cheeks get pinker by seconds

"Well, if you don't like it, you can just pull my hand away"

She shook her head before raised it up and give me her Sakura smile at me

". . . No, I guess this is fine"

The warm moment between us stayed like that before Syed interrupted it

She just looked at him, not out of cold embarrassment, but with pouty face

"Geez Syed, you sure had the worst timing possible" Suraya said pouting at him

"Since when?! " Suraya asked, shocked at his revelation

"5 minutes ago" He said it while smiling gently like that's nothing

I just sighed softly, already expecting this thing

But the three of them still couldn't, still in denial stage

"Huff. . . At this point, I just believe you had a blessing called 'Always win at Uno' or some shit" Adam mock tease him

"Erm. . . Hehe. . . Well. . ." Syed scratched his cheek with his finger

"Oh for fuck sake. . . You do?! " Adam asked him in shock furious

"How did you think I always win at Uno against you guys? "

"Then why do we even bother play it with you?! " Farah ask in mock furious

"Oh come on. . . You guys can't say it's not fun" Syed smugly smiled at us

". . . That's a good point" Adam supported his words

"Well I'm still mad! Did you know how hard I tried to win against you in Uno since we were child?! " Suraya said in mock furious

"Yeah, Me and bestie even team up against you! I thought you just really good at Uno! "

"Huff. . . I told you guys before to not try to win didn't I? " I said calmly

"I thought it's because you don't care Dani! You knew?! " Farah asked loudly at me

"I didn't. But since we were child, I had given up to try defeating him at Uno "

"Haha, guess you catching up fast Dani" He teased me

"Fucking shut up. . . I'm still mad that you cheated this whole time"

He mocked gasp while his hand at his chest before teased me again

"Me? Cheat? Oh please Dani, I will never dishonor my chosen on-"

"If I had magic, I would cast one on you right now"

"Haha, you're really easy to trigger. Alright, next time we play uno, I turn off my chosen one power. Deal? "

". . . You better"

He smiled gently at me before looked at Suraya

"So, if I guess correctly, you already know the cause of Dani incompatible to magic right? "

". . . Yeah, I already told them"

"Well, how harsh, you didn't telepath and told me first"

"Anyway, what's the reason he can't use magic? " Syed ask her curiously

His eyes widened slightly after the revelation before he gather back his thoughts and asked her

". . . You serious? "

His eyes then look down slightly, as if remembering something, or ratherly. . Try to make sure his memories served him right

"Wait. . . But. . . No. . . This isn't what I remember. . . " Syed thought to himself before I interrupt him

"Hey Syed, you good? " I asked him

He didn't reply right away, but instead he take a very deep breath before exhaled it and look at me sharply

"Dani. . . Should I fight those constellations to correct this mistake? "

The silent hover for a moment . . . Even the fucking air feels like they need to stop and breathe for a second before they three scream in unison

"EHHHH??!! "

"What? " Syed ask obliviously

"What did you mean you want to fight the constellations?! " Suraya ask her brother in shock

"Exactly as I mean it. I will throw my hands with them"

"Since when the chosen one is that powerful?! Last time I read history book, all the previous chosen one is not that strong! " Farah ask in shock

"Well, I'm different" he said it casually

"You mean to tell us, that YOU want to throw hands with constellations? Who basically granted us magic and blessing? The one who give you YOUR OWN CHOSEN ONE POWER??? " Adam ask him, mostly shock and in disbelief

"Yes, I do, I wouldn't accept that they made Dani like this"

All three of them just stared at him while their jaw dropped of how casual he said it

Well, somehow I didn't

". . . I wouldn't be surprised honestly, even prophecy say constellations don't want to fuck around with him" I said calmly

"I THOUGHT IT JUST A METAPHOR! " Adam screamed in existential crisis

"Well, apparently prophecy never lie" I strengthened my reasoning calmly

"Haha, you guys should be like Dani sometimes, straight up chill" Syed teased them gently

"Huff. . . I swear the longer I'm with you, brother. . . The longer I have my migraine thinking about your situation" Suraya said while massaged her forehead

"Hehe, but back to my question. . . Dani, should I do that? " Syed asked me gently

They then turned their head and looked at me softly, hoping I say yes.

And I know, deep in my heart, I also wanted to accept it.

Because I also want to taste the feeling of casting magic

To not feel like I'm a nobody in everyone else story

To feel normal, just like them

But. . . What if it cause them to suffer because of karma for fighting against the constellations?

Do I want to make them suffered because of me?

I know the answer for that question. . .

"Huff. . . . No need Syed. But I appreciate it"

Everyone look like they disagree heavily with my decision

But they knew they can't forced me into accepting it

Suraya didn't said anything, but she just pinched my cheek and gave me her pout look

And as for Syed, he just looked at me sharply. As if whatever happened to me. . . Doesn't feel right to him

". . . I don't remember Dani ever being gateless. . . What the hell happen? Is it because of 'him' that Dani become like this? " Syed thought to himself

I noticed he was wondering inside his mind before looked back at me gently

"I won't let anything happen to you, buddy" Syed say while crossing his arms and give me his usual gentle smile

"Oi Syed, you said it like we also wouldn't let anything happened to this idiot" Adam said it softly while smiling smugly

"I didn't said that obviously, when I wasn't around, I'm hoping you guys could at least make sure he didn't face life or death situation"

"Of course we would! "

"You're an idiot if you think I let anything happen to Dani, brother"

". . . Huff, out of sudden I feel like I can't live my life normally anymore"
