Chapter Sixty Two

It has been days. Since Amber spoke. She was in shock. And guilt. She felt as if. She was the one who had caused the death. The death of John Jackson.

Today she sits with Lukas Scottville. At the same table. And they eat. How do they even do that? One who does not speak. And another who speaks.

And Amber keeps staring at Lukas. "What do you want? Why are you looking at me?" Lukas asks. And for the first time. Amber speaks. Since days ago. She now speaks.

"I love you Lukas." She tells him.

But Lukas smiles. "No." He says. "Please stop it. I cannot fall in love with you." He says. "Why? Because she broke your heart?" Amber asks.

"No Amber. It's not because of that. It's because love does not exist." Lukas says. And Amber is shocked.

"Love does exist. I thought you loved Elisabeth. When no one else did." Amber asks. "No. I was cheating myself. There is nothing like love. So forget it." Lukas says. "If there is no love. Then what is there?" Amber asks.

Lukas pulls her in. With his now strong arms. It is so sudden. That Amber's heart jumps. And he kisses her. And he grabs her neck.

She is silent. When he lets go of her. She is shocked. Yet excited. She does not know what to do.

"I might not love you. But you have the greatest body I have ever seen. And I want it!" Lukas says.

"What? When?" Amber William asks. She is confused. Yet pleased at the same time. She feels hot. A rush of heat. Down her spine.

And down her whole body.

"I would do it now... If we were not surrounded by school..." Lukas says. And he smiles. Amber cannot help it. She blushes. And smiles.
