Chapter Sixty Nine

The Ugliest Of Them All375 words~2 min read

When Lukas comes back home. On that Sunday night. He finds his home trashed.

What is going on? He finds the front door open. And when he walks in. Glass is broken on the floor. The table is broken. Pillows are torn apart. There are feathers everywhere.

What happened to this place?

And as he walks upstairs. He can hear sobs from far. He doesn't know who sobs. But it sounds like someone he knows.

Maybe his mother.

And it's true. When he reaches his room. He finds his mother. Mrs. Scottville. She sits on the floor. With her hair messed. With her heart crushed. Her hair is not in place. Her eyes are red. From endless tears.

Her face is scrambled. Her eye black with pain. And from the edge of her mouth. She bleeds. Lukas runs to her. Though she has been shouting at him. Even in the past. The love of a son to a mother can never be broken.

Not even the love of a mother to a son.

They hug each other. And Lukas wants to know what is going on. So he asks his mother. And she tells him. That his father knew. He knew that Lukas was not his true son. That she never had a child with him.

And she even tells him. How he beat her up. How he trashed the house. And left. And said it was forever.

Lukas loves her as much. As much as she loved him. But even him. He has to know. Who is his father. And no matter how much he asks. His mother does not tell him. He shouts at her. To tell him who his father is. But she is silent.

Then he gets annoyed. And he can't stress himself anymore. So he stands to walk away. "I will leave. When you are ready to tell me who my father is. You will search for me." He says.

And walks away. Away from his mother.

Mrs. Scottville cries. She cries for her son to come back to her. But Lukas has made up his mind. And he is fed up. He leaves her. She grabs onto him. Soaked in tears. Her heart melting down.

But no. He leaves.
