Chapter 400 Now It Seems Like a Big Problem âItâs Miss Queenie⦠Miss Queenie is in trouble!â
âWhat? Queenie? What happened to her?â
When Chris heard Queenieâs name, he felt his mind explode, and a sense of dread filled his heart.
âMiss Queenie is now under police control on suspicion of murder.â
âMurder?â
Chris stood up in shock and asked in disbelief, âHow could this happen? How could my daughter be involved in a murder?â
The assistant didnât know the details, so Chris had to say to Daniel, âDaniel, hurry up. Come with me to the police station!â
âAlright!â
Daniel wiped the cold sweat on his forehead, realizing that the Songo family might be in big trouble this time.
The two hurried to the police station and learned the situation upon arrival. It turned out that Sam, who had been caught because of Daisyâs death, had revealed the truth during interrogation.
Sam claimed that Queenie ordered him to kill Daisy and let him frame Cecelia.
In the visiting room, Chris saw his daughter. Seeing her father come with the lawyer, Queenie cried out and begged him, âDad, you have to get me out! Please, figure something out!â
âAh, how could you do such a thing? How could you be so reckless?â
To save his daughter, Chris told her, âRight now, all you have to do is to insist that you didnât order Sam to do anything. Iâll let Daniel handle the rest, understand?â
âI understand!â
Queenie nodded tearfully.
Chris almost had his hair turning gray from the stress. Both of his children had been arrested for wrongdoing, and his father didnât even know about it yet. If his father found out, the old man would definitely be furious.
For now, Chris had to do everything possible to get his children out of their troubles.
The scandal continued to escalate, and even though Chris used the PR agency to publish positive articles to clean up their image, it had no effect.
Wardaâs rape charges were still the top trending topic, with no decrease in popularity, while Queenieâs involvement in the murder of Daisy got to second place on the trending list.
Warda and Queenie of the Songo family were consecutively arrested, bringing their family heated discussion and attention. Many internet users were curious about these events and were eagerly following the updates.
Chris had given instructions to family members and domestic workers in the Songo family that none of them was allowed to tell anything about Queenieâs arrest to Alfred.
So, everyone inside the Songo family was keeping Alfred in the dark. Only Dana and Mariah from Chrisâ branch came over for breakfast.
Observing the limited number of family members present, Alfred asked, âWhat happened today? Where is everyone?â
Afraid of being questioned by her father-in-law, Dana quickly covered up, saying, âAlfred, Chris went to handle Wardaâs case. Queenie went to the hospital to accompany Carol. Letâs start eating. We donât have to wait for them!â
At that moment, Cecelia helped Anisa Quinsey in a wheelchair and arrived at the dining room. She said, âAlfred, I invited fourth great aunt to have breakfast with you!â
Seeing Anisa coming in her wheelchair, he quickly instructed someone to pull away a chair beside him, to make space for Anisaâs wheelchair. âBenson isnât coming?â he asked.
âHe had something to do. He wonât come,â Anisa replied.
âAlright, letâs start eating then.â
As breakfast started, Anisa didnât take anything first and glanced at the people sitting at the table. She asked, âThe number of people in this table keeps decreasing. Is it because of me? If they donât want to see me, Iâll go back to my room!â
Anisa moved as if she was about to leave, but Alfred held onto her wheelchair and said, âIt has nothing to do with you. Warda is in trouble now. Chris goes to handle it. And Queenie went to the hospital to visit Carol.â
âI was thinking that I should go visit Carol after breakfast. Oh well, but why did I hear in the news that Queenie got arrested?â
Anisa deliberately brought it up.
Alfred was shocked, âWhat are you saying?â
Dana quickly changed the subject and replied, âAlfred, donât listen to the nonsense. Queenie is fine.
How could she be arrested?â
Alfred glanced at Dana and Mariah, seeing that both of them didnât look good and had evasive eyes.
Finally, he directly asked Cecelia, âCece, tell me! What exactly happened?â
Cecelia sighed lightly and replied, âAlfred, I can tell you the truth, but you should be mentally prepared.â
âSay it!â
âQueenie was taken away by the police yesterday on suspicion of murder.â
âSuspicion of murder? What murder?â
âIt seems that Daisyâs death was orchestrated by Queenie, with Sam as her accomplice. Sam has already confessed at the police station, soâ¦â
Alfred could guess what was going on now. He angrily threw down the knife and fork in his hand, stood up, and accused Dana, âYou didnât tell me the truth about such a big matter! And you deliberately concealed it?â
âAlfred, Iâm sorry. I was afraid it would bother youâ¦â Dana explained in tears.
Mariah added, âGrandpa, we are all very worried. Warda and Queenie are both in trouble, and we donât know what to do.â
âCrying! Thatâs what you are good at! Whatâs the use of crying?â
Alfred lost his appetite, and he was almost infuriated by his two grandchildren. âTell Chris to get back to see me!â
After Alfred finished speaking, he left the dining room with his cane, and Dana and Mariah quickly followed him to leave.
Both women glared angrily at Cecelia as they left. They believed that Cecelia must have something to do with all the troubles happening at their home.
After everyone had left, Anisa said, âCecelia, would you accompany me to the hospital?â
âOf course, Anisa.â
Then Cecelia accompanied Anisa to the hospital.
Carol was lying in her ward, being taken care of by a personal maid.
She was fine now and could be discharged tomorrow. However, she hadnât seen any family members come to visit her in the past two days, which made her curious. âWhere are they? Why hasnât anyone come?â
The maid knew the reason but couldnât say it. She could just make excuses for them, saying, âMadam Songo, itâs possible that the company has been very busy these past few days. Mr. Chris, Mr. Warda, and Miss Queenie are all very busy. They donât have time to come.â
âThey donât have time, why donât I see Dana and Mariah?â
Carol was used to being surrounded by her daughter-in-law and granddaughter-in-law, so she felt anxious without anyone to talk to.
âThey might come soon,â the maid reassured.
âWhat about that woman? What has she been up to lately?â
Speaking of Anisa, Carol wasnât feeling happy. She was worried about what would happen if Anisa took control of the domestic affair while she was hospitalized.â
âI heard from the family yesterday that Master Alfred was spending time with Mrs. Quinsey, having meals and playing chess together.â
âThat b*tch! Sheâs now disabled! And she still tries to seduce my husband! I believe she has her eyes on the Songo familyâs fortune! She must have carefully planned this! Anisa! You should be killed!â
Carol was so furious that she threw a cup on the bedside table. And the cup shattered to the ground with a piercing sound.
At that moment, Cecelia appeared at the door of the hospital room, with Anisa in her wheelchair.
Anisa exclaimed, âOh, if I hadnât come, I wouldnât have known how much you longed for my death!â
Seeing Anisa, Carol had a terrible expression and said, âWhat are you here for?â
âIâm here to visit you! Since the day I got into the Songo Mansion, youâve been in the hospital. I thought I should come and see you, so that no one would gossip behind my back.â
Carol asked the maid to leave first, then pointed at Cecelia and Anisa, sneering, âI knew it! You two are plotting against me together. Itâs all your idea, Cecelia Linsey! Am I right?! You just want to go against me by her force! Isnât it?â
