01- "Bella, Manners!"

Bella's POV

"Stop!" I groaned, walking out of Starbucks with my coffee latte, as my little brother Mason poked my side.

But still he continued poking me.

"What?!" I yelled, feeling very frustrated and angry. Then he grabbed my drink and started running as far away as possible.

Oh no.. No one takes my food and gets away with it..

I started running as fast as I could, trying to catch up with him, unfortunately he is a better runner than me, I have no desire for sport so this was like a suicide mission.

He ran faster and faster, looking behind him once every thirty seconds to laugh at me. He knew I wasn't really a good runner so this is rather funny to him.

I stopped to take a breath, resting my head on the fence, sitting on the pavement. I was panting really hard and sweat dripped from my forehead.

I brushed my curly brown hair backwards, it was so hot since it was mid July and it was summer time, the jeans and the hoodie I wore wasn't really helping.

I knew I should've worn shorts and a cropped top, but according to dad 'you have to cover up, there're so many hormonal teenage boys out there'

So here I am wearing white jeans and a hoodie, WHITE JEANS!!

No.. No.. No I stood up from where I was sitting, dusting my butt and trying to check for any dirt, unfortunately there was a very big brown smudge on my white jeans.

I tried to cover it with my hoodie but it wasn't long enough.

Arghh! I'm gonna kill Mason when we get home

Speaking of Mason where'd he go? ohh..no double trouble.

I searched everywhere on the street we were but no sign of him. Mum's gonna kill me when we get home.

...

I've been searching for nearly an hour and no sign of him, and whenever I pass by someone they're always giving this weird look like 'wth is wrong with you?' Look.

Ohh...I know, my butt has big smudge on it

Ping

My phone vibrated, indicating that I have a text. I took out my phone from my pocket.

I tapped the notification, to see it was Mason who texted me, he said

Butt face : Don't worry about me I just went over to my friend's house I'll be back by 5. Bye freak

Thank the Lord he's fine...

What about my drink? Never mind, he'll answer me when he comes home.

I walked down the street tired and angry, I'm gonna take a cold bubble bath when I get home, that's what I need right now that I'm feeling dirty and angry.

My phone vibrated again, I checked the notification and it was a message from one of my best friends Liana.

Cutiepie: We have an emergency! You have to come here right now!

Me: what is it?

Cutiepie: just come here!

"No" I groaned, I guess my bubble bath's going to wait. I crossed the road to the other side of the street, then I took a right turn into an estate and walked passed ten houses, then took a left and looked for a yellow mansion. I walked to the door of the yellow mansion and rang the doorbell.

After a few minutes, Mrs Gregson, Liana's mother let me in.

"Hey Bella," She said, pulling me into a bone crushing bear hug. This is pretty much how we greet anytime we meet, she's my mom's close friend and like a second mother to me.

"Hey Mrs Gregson, looking good today" I said scanning her from head to toe, she was wearing a red spaghetti strap top and blue skinny jeans, her hair was pulled up in a tight ponytail and her make up was perfectly done. Although Mrs Gregson was in her early fifties, she liked to look younger.

"What can I say? I try my best to look good," She said, posing.

"I'll go up to Liana" I giggled and walked into the familiar home of the Gregsons. The interior design of the house was amazing, they decorated their home with mostly black, grey and white linens.

I walked to the kitchen which also had black and stainless steel appliances and decorations,I opened their large fridge and took out a bottle of water before going up to Liana's room.

"Heyy!-" I said but was cut off by Aubrey's loud sobs, Aubrey is my second best friend.

Her face was red, and her eyes were puffy which means she's been crying for an awfully long time.

I walked to the bed and bugged her tightly, stroking her straight raven black hair.

"What happened?" I asked, looking up to Liana who looked really sad as well.

"Her dad, he's back and he's trying to come back into their lives, he even pretended like nothing ever happened" Liana said. When were eight years old Aubrey's dad suddenly disappeared from their lives the day he found out he lost his job, a few months later Aubrey and her family found out he was dating a really rich woman who he works for.

Aubrey cried harder, that I was worried that her eyes we're gonna pop out, they looked so big and red.

"It's ok, everything's gonna be alright," I said whispering soothing words as I rubbed her back gently trying to calm her down.

"He said...he wanted to t-take Adrian to live with him, he's w-willing t-to take it to court" She stuttered, crying even harder. I can't believe he wanted to take her little brother away after leaving a few months after he was born.

"Don't worry it's gonna be ok we're here for you" Liana said, squeezing her hand.

I stayed with her until she finally fell asleep, I tucked her under the covers of Liana's bed and jogged downstairs to the kitchen where Liana was making smoothie.

"I'm really sorry for her," Liana said, handing me a banana flavoured smoothie, as she sat beside me and drank her's, which was strawberry flavoured.

"Yeah, I wonder how much pain her mother is in, knowing that her husband left her for another woman, and even has kids with her" I said taking a sip of the smoothie.

Hmm...It tasted really good

"Yeah. Enough of that topic, let's talk about something else I don't want to ruin my makeup," She said, fanning her cheeks with her hands, I couldn't help but laugh. She was like a replica of her mother

"Did you know that Becky and David started dating again?"

"Really? How'd you know?" I said pretending to be surprised and interested, Becky and David are like the school's 'it couple' the only problem is that you can never know when they're dating or not, they're always in and out.

"I saw Becky's Instagram post, dude they were literally biting each other's faces-" Liana continued blabbing as I just let her words fade away, getting lost I'm my own thoughts.

"Earth to bella," She said, clapping her hands in front of my face.

"Did you hear what I said?" She asked, with an annoyed expression on her beautiful well-defined face.

"No" I said checking the time deciding that it was time to go home.

"Bye" I screamed when I got to the front door, I walked out of the house and closed the door.

I walked down the street out the estate and straight to my house.

When I got home I made sure I dealt with Mason for taking my coffee.

Then as promised I had my bubble bath for an hour, I changed into my PJ's and ran downstairs for dinner. Today we were eating my mom's famous spaghetti bolognese.

"Kids I have something very important to tell you guys," My dad said, breaking the silence at the table, we looked up at him and waited for him to start talking.

"We are having some visitors tomorrow, and I expect you to be on your best most organized and well behaved manner" My dad said, cleaning his mouth with the table napkins.

"What are they? some freakin' Santa Claus?" I said, with my mouth full of spaghetti.

"Bella, Manners!" My mom scolded me. Seems like they were already practicing for tomorrow.

"No they are not, it's my boss, he wanted to meet my family to be sure if he wanted to give me the promotion, so it has got to be perfect"

"Ok" Me and Mason said in Unison.

I finished my food and washed the dishes, before going to my room to get some rest.

I closed my eyes thinking about how today went.

I drifted off to sleep dreaming of the big platter of pancakes in front of me with honey and strawberry at the top..
